I only tried the sushi and they were sooo delicious! The chicken dynamite rolls were a-mazing! They’re double the size of regular sushi i’m used to! Some are hard to handle and too big to fit in your mouth so they tend to fall apart but I didn’t care — I would rather have big portions and good value for my money. This place was definitely that!

Small little joint on the corner of Melville and bute. Limited seating so best to prepare to take out. Ordered the chicken teriyaki box. We noticed that everything here is deep fried. Despite being cooked in oil, they do a good job soaking up the excess so it’s not too oily. The dynamite rolls are huge so be prepared. Not bad. Would come back if I was looking for a quick lunch.

I came to this very tiny establishment on the way to Modest Mouse. It’s not in walking view, therefore, if you work or live in the area than you’d know that it exists. I just happened to find it cause I got lost. I had the basic cucumber avocado sushi. Price was reasonable at $ 5 even and sushi was well prepared.

This was my first time here and wanted to find a new sushi place as I was disappointed with the ones near my workplace. Since I’m changing jobs, really needed to find one closer to the me workplace. I go by this every morning on my way to work and decided today was the day I’d try it. I ordered the Gomaae salad. Can’t say it was anything special. It was ok. I’ve tasted better but I’ve also tastes much worse. I also ordered the California roll and the prawn and avocado roll. The latter was really good. Yes the batter colour looks darker than what you usually get but I like it. It’s crunchier it seems. Two big pieces of of avocado as well. Not chintzy. California was ok. Put together nicely. Plus these roles are 8 pieces not the standard 6 that I usually seem to get. The price point was good as well since again it was 8 pieces per roll. I’d definitely go back.

Went to this place for lunch and ordered 6 piece salmon sashimi and a dynamite roll. Not a lot to say about this place. The food is OK and the dynamite rolls are way too big. It ends up breaking apart and becoming a mess.

I came here for the chopped scallop roll, and it was delicious. The staff though… huge disappointment, as they are the least organized people I’ve ever seen. It was also pretty damp in there. They should install a dehumidifier!

The best prawn and advocacy roll ever. The worst organized counter staff ever. 2.5 stars.

I wanted this place to be good. I need a good sushi place around this area! It’s too bad that it was just OK. I had grabbed something next door, but forced myself to take a roll to go just so I can see what they’re all about. The rolls were humbly priced. I ordered a Prawn and Avocado roll. It comes with 8 pieces for $ 3.95. I prayed it was good. The place was inviting and the staff were friendly. When I got home, I eagerly unwrapped my sushi. The prawn tempura batter was darker than I’m used to. I crossed my fingers… It tasted OK. I didn’t hate my roll. There were two nice slices of avocado in it. The prawn tempura wasn’t my favourite… The sandwich board outside advertises Chicken Box and Coke for $ 11.29. Can’t decide how I feel about that. I’m guessing everything else is just mediocre here.

You get what you pay for. It’s cheap and pretty damn fast. It’s basically like fast food sushi in my mind, but it’s nice cause they make it to order. Not like some places when i’ve ordered certain rolls, like yam for exmaply and you can tell the yam tempura had been cooked awhile ago. Overall I think it’s pretty decent, and you can get filled up for a cheap price.

This place is a mess… I know the original Sushi Go in Champlain Heights and this is a bad copy of the original one.

The place was incredibly steamy with a lot of condensation on the windows. It felt like sauna. Yet we were too hungry to leave, so we decided to give a chance. When the food came, the tempura was darker then usual, and tasted as if it was triple fried in old oil. And to top it off, when I asked for tea, it turned out to be an additional charge.

Extremely HUMID! Crazy amount of condensation on the windows, to the point were there were pools of water forming by the tables. On top of that, no miso soup or tea served for dine in folks. Unfortunately this was a one and only time we’re eating there.

I come here ALL the time. I checked this Unilocal page out of curiosity and am VERY surprised to see the low ratings! It’s always super packed with endless lineups around lunch time. I always get the chopped scallop roll and spicy tuna roll. They’re the best I’ve had and I can’t get it made the same elsewhere — specifically, I like the following about their sushi: 1. The rice isn’t mushy and has the prefect amount of vinegar in it 2. The actual seafood you get inside the roll is perfect and more than what you’d get at other cheap sushi places that is just all rice. 3. The scallop roll in particular has a perfect amount of mayo — it might be a little too much mayo and sauce for those who do not like creamier sushi, but I LOVE this about their roll. They are generous with their masago bits that are in the filling as well, so there are nice pops of masago when you take a bite. 4. The spicy tuna roll is actually spicy, but not overwhelming(for me at least). The tuna melts in your mouth. I have heard from others that they think it tastes like franks red hot sauce, but I personally don’t think so. I’ve also gotten their Alaska roll which is lighter than the above rolls mentioned. Overall, their portions are pretty big, but they used to be even bigger. To put this in perspective, I’m absolutely stuffed with 2 rolls($ 7.50) and I consider myself a pretty big eater. I like the workers too. They’re very nice, especially the one that usually takes phone orders. I would travel into Vancouver for their sushi if I had a specific craving for the chopped scallop roll. They just do it so perfectly!

It’s alright. I was hungry, and now I’m not. No complaints… No accolades. $ 10 for miso soup, two avocado rolls and a spicy tuna roll. Not a bad deal.

For shame, SushiGo. Breaded is not Tempura! What are you thinking? I’ve got a love-hate relationship with cheap sushi. I can eat it while I’m walking along the waterfront on a sunny afternoon, but I’ll generally regret it. The price was fair, I’m full, and I’d still rather not do it again. I had a queer feeling akin to waking up drunk in a McDonalds restaurant. It was odd. I thought I was getting sushi? SushiGo is clean and well priced, but the quality of the food falls in somewhere between«Not good» and«Worse than just not good» and I definitely won’t be coming back to give them another chance at wowing me with their frozen and reheated pre-breaded shrimp or however they make the stuff. The tempura batter used was not tempura — it was more like bread crumbs, and it was thick, and while it was crunchy it was also stale which confused me a little bit. How do they keep it so crunchy if it’s stale? Were chemicals involved? They used what seemed like battered yam fries for the yam tempura roll, and I swear they served us pre-fabricated rolls that they steamed to reheat. Thanks for lunch, McSushi’s. Maybe if you include a toy with my meal…

When you sell an 8pc Alaskan roll for $ 3.50, how can it be good? It’s not like there’s no shortage of sushi places in the area – walk up to Domo Sushi less than a block away on Melville, now that looks like a 4star lol. Was just curious, and I paid the price ;(Lacked taste nor was it presented nice, as expected. Just save your $ folks.

Close to where I work and I’ve come here a couple of times for lunch. It’s not bad. I’ve had only the sushi here. The dynamite rolls, BC rolls, spicy tuna rolls, etc. Quality is not bad for what this place is. They also offer noodles here, which I’ve yet to try. One day…

After hearing about how cheap this place was, there was only one way to find out. Parking isn’t the best here, but there are some spots along the side streets. The inside is strangely bright, as they used orange as their theme colour. The tiles on the wall reminded me of a washroom in Asia. Fortunately it didn’t smell like one. There were several tables, but all of them were small. 4 people would be the maximum suggested group size. On the walls are really artsy paintings. This particular one on the side looks like a girl taking a really really long poo. Quite a headscratcher. See pics. I had an Alaska roll for $ 3.25(8 pieces). The The pieces are somewhat larger than the ones you’d find elsewhere in downtown, but this ain’t no Samurai or Sushi King. The salmon wasn’t farmed, and actually was pretty decent. Unfortunately I knew I’d be dropping money real fast if I wanted a meal and not a snack. My buddy Vincent N. had a ramen. He mentioned that while it was not the best quality, it was at least filling. Decent food, but *small* portions.

best miso soup ever!!! and i love how it comes in a coffee cup and not a bowl. easy to drink while walking/driving. clever! the rolls i always order(avocado, tamago) come as inside rolls so they’re pretty small and not very filling but really yummy. the nigiri is a decent size for a decent price. the veggie gyoza is pretty good and the yam roll(outside roll) big and filling. the place is small but clean and has a nice design. the service is friendly and fast but it can get really busy around lunchtime in coal harbour the one thing i don’t like is that you get everything in plastic containers even if you eat in. too much garbage!
