It was the ferm living wallpaper and wall stickers that got me to go into the store, and the clothes kept me there. The trendy high-​fashion store has Matt and Natt bags, sweaters, accessories and jewellery and the day I went in, almost all of it was 50%. A definite stand alone store amidst all the other trendy stores in Gastown, I liked the fact that owner and designer Rubins Autila also sells his own line here. The wall stickers are really cool, if you’ve never seen them you must check it out.

Ruby and Kino is one of Cordova’s women’s wear shops carrying Rubin Autila’s house label. I wouldn’t exactly call the clothes here cutting edge, but they do tend to be well made and nicely tailored with just enough funk to earn its spot in Gastown. Along with the house label, you’ll find items by FCUK and a few Matt & Nat bags here. The price tags on items here range from reasonable to a bit steep, but certainly not over the top. This place makes a good stop in your Gastown wanderings.

Along with labels such as Lovely Girl and French Connection, fashion designer Rubin Autila show-​cases his own collection under the name, Rubi and Kino. The designs are feminine and forgiving, along with being fabulous and truly wearable. The eye-​catching jewellery designs can only serve to enhance the lovely fashion designs here. Price tags are reasonable too which makes leaving with multiple bags an easy feat!
