This is my absolute favourite gastown shop. If you buy something from them, you are supporting a local business. Something about their clothes just appeal to me. The prices can be a little steep sometimes but they are one of a kind items that you will not find anywhere else. Just a note — they only carry a small number in each size so you might want not want to wait if you like something. There are also shoes and men’s selections, not just women’s clothing. The people who work there are super nice and I finally bought this dress I had eyed for a super long time. on sale and in my size… YAY!

212 is a little more expensive than my budget allows, but they do have well made clothing that is modern hip and fashionable. I got a great striped boatneck dress there on clearance 50% off because it was missing two buttons, I replaced all of the buttons and I am so pleased that I did. It is a classic piece that I think I will have for years to come. The store is well organized, not large but still feels spacious(I dislike cluttered shops) and has great natural light and large mirrors. They also do have some moderately priced tees. As other reviewers said a NYC style boutique at a Vancouver price point

While finding apparel in Vancouver that doesn’t resemble everything else that everyone is wearing these days may be hard to find, 212 makes an attempt to resemble what everyone in New York City is wearing instead. This isn’t my favourite approach to fashion but I have to admit that a few of the items in 212 caught my eye, in particular, the chunky knits and lovely outerwear. The store does justice to the women’s clothing hanging from the racks by keeping the aesthetic of the décor minimalist and understated, thereby leaving the clothes to speak for themselves. While my budget doesn’t always allow for clothing from 212, there are sales every once in a while and the regular prices are not so outrageous(ala NYC) that you cannot afford to splurge on something once in awhile.

Amongst all the shops in Gastown, it’s hard to stand out.(212) tries hard to replicate and transmit New York style to Vancouver’s shores with its exposed floorboards and dark ceilings. Given the range of choice in Vancouver, it would be untrue to say that(212) is a shining star but they do showcase some lovely designs for less than $ 500, a rarity these days.

212 is the 411 you need to know in Van City. Scott and his friend, Anthony(I think) run the shop and design the clothes. A heavy NYC influence lingers in the store and the designs are also very on trend. The dresses, shirts and pants are very affordable $ 35 – 200. And it’s best to go when things are on sale. Right now, we’d love to have some of the sailor inspired pants and knits dresses, and ¾ sleeved knit jackets. The store is also heavy on HOTT accessories. Perfect for last minute grab-and-go outfits.

212 is yet another of Gastown’s hip apparel stores that aims to please to local crowd by carrying local and other labels in its mix of fashionable items. I don’t find that there is much that stands out about 212, it’s not as interesting or pretty as some of the other shops around here, but you will find a range of well-made and stylish apparel here.
