USE PUROLATOR’S LIVE CHAT FOR PROBLEMS!
I was supposed to have a package delivered to my apartment yesterday, but it never came. Checked the tracking info and it said they had attempted to deliver it at 5:31, but didn’t have my entry code/​buzzer number. I was pretty angry because:
A. I stayed home all day waiting for this thing to be delivered.
B. My suite number was given in the address (suite number = buzzer#, and my name is listed beside the buzzer# at the entrance).
In any case, I was about to give a review of 2 stars because the pick-​up location for the undelivered parcel was a 45 minute walk away, which totally defeats the purpose of paying for something to be delivered. I do not have a car and the package weighs 20 pounds… Thinking about walking there and back or paying for a cab was making me even angrier. Then I saw another person’s post on Unilocal,which suggested using the online Purolator live chat customer service feature.
Tried it. Typed my problem. Tried not to freak out on the customer service rep by using ALL CAPS. Gave my tracking number. Said I would like it redelivered, and… done and done! My package will be delivered again tomorrow.
Now, let’s hope the delivery person knows how to use the buzzer this time. I may change my review depending on what happens tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

UPDATE: The package was delivered the day after, as requested. The delivery man was extremely friendly, apologized and explained that the guy on the route the previous day was new and didn’t know the buzzer number = the suite number. Service ended with a smile and a sincere «Have a nice day.» I realize mistakes happen in all services, but what counts is how they resolve the mistakes. Adding another star to my review.

Every time someone sends me something via Purolator, it ends up late. Today is no exception. I ordered a printer from HP canada and it was supposed to arrive today. The tracking page shows «weather delay». Since it is not even raining in Vancouver, I went online and visited their online chat. I was told «Oh it’s not weather, the truck broke down and will not be delivered». I asked when I can expect it, they tell me tomorrow… Oh wait. We won’t deliver on Saturday (seems like their issues don’t require any extra effort on their end to make things right). So Monday it is… Can I expect it in the morning? No, I can expect is between 8−6… Thanks. That’s helpful. This courier has the worst service going… I don’t know how anyone uses them. As usual, my expectations are low for receiving this delivery any time soon…

Purolator is operated by Canada post. I sent a letter size env to lac la biche alb & it took 10 days to get there. Recipient said it came in w regular mail. I paid full courier rate for what I can get w a stamp. No wonder stamps are going up. Theyre trying to subsidize the courier business by cutting back mail service. Undercutting the competition & confusing the general public. Its all a shell game. Im no business analyst but it was very strange that in the small towns service came by mail & not courier.

Needing to send something off to mainland China, I ended up here.
The clerk at the desk was extremely helpful, and explained to me how I needed to do this. I’m a noob when it comes to international couriers to a non English speaking country.
I got a way bill in the morning and filled it out. I ended up having to do two addresses, one in English and one in Chinese. The way bill with the tracking number was in English. I scribbled the Chinese address on a plain envelope, which they take to tape to the other side of the document envelope.
Got here at noon to send it off. In by 3PM, and you get 2 day service.
Pro tips:
FedEx does not deliver personal items. They do only business to business.
UPS was too expensive. Funny thing is, UPS is Purolator’s ground partner in China. UPS will deliver it, at a lower rate by going through Purolator. If you go through UPS it’s more expensive! Go figure??? I found this out as I was at the depot paying for the shipment.

Great service and locations all over the city. They even do saturday delivery which canada post does not offer. Friendly staff, fast, and send anything, anysize anywhere in the world. Delivery within Canada if you drop package before 5 it arrives at destination by next day before 1030am. Fastest shipping ever! The only reason it loses a star is because shipping this fast and secure is pretty expensive. Still, I use purolator regularily
