Poochike Adventures

In September 2014, I made the move from Toronto to Vancouver with my young, energetic pup, Kira. Finding a dog walker in Toronto was difficult, so I thought it would be hard here too; especially since Kira used to go on private walks. Now she was older and ready for group walks. I did my research and finally decided to email Poochike. Their website was so nice, they did pickups in the West End, and their prices were reasonable ($ 470 for 20 walks). Plus, they take the dogs for an hour and a half leash off-​leash hike, which I thought was perfect.
Kira and I met Joe outside our building one day and she immediately liked him. Which, for her, was strange (she’s not always a big fan of men). So I decided to give him a try. I was nervous about how she would do in a group setting and being in a car full of dogs. Joe gave me email updates after her first few walks to calm my nerves. He later introduced us to Matt, who would also be taking Kira on hikes, depending on their schedules.
Both Joe and Matt did a great job taking care of Kira. When I’d get home from work, hours after her hike, she’d still be laying in bed, tired from her adventures. If I ever had concerns, Joe and Matt always responded right away. They were also fantastic at letting me make last minute changes to her schedule (adding or removing her from hikes as needed). The only thing I would have liked was more photos. Other than that, no complaints.
Unfortunately for us, Poochike doesn’t service New Westminster (where I have since moved to), otherwise Kira would still be going on hikes with them. If I ever move back to the West End, I’ll definitely continue using them. I highly recommend Poochike to anyone in the West End with a high energy pup — I promise they’ll come home pooped! You know what they say: a tired dog is a happy dog.

Our high energy boxer has no chance in the ring after he has been hiked by Pooch Hike. I would highly recommend Joe and Meredith who arrive promptly and drop off one pooped pooch after a long west coast hike in the North Shore trails. Bravo you guys.
