I like how this one is so central to everything that is Robson. Sure, it is not on Robson, but it is close enough. You can’t miss it for the peddlers asking for change in the front, sitting with their homeless pets, but that still does not deter me from coming to this location, due to the accesibility of where this is located. In the summers the garage door opening would be open, to sit and gaze at all the walkers going past your along Thurlow while you munch on your crispy fries, or have the cheap value meal. It is a compact little place, but not the smallest, as the size from the front can fool you. There are automated garbage cans in here, and you need them to press a button to allow you in the washroom, to keep all the rift-raft out. The one knock that I can give for this place is line-ups, which was totally made apparent when we had the olympics, the place was a zoo, not just with people chilling out, watching the tv’s, but just putting in an order was like waiting to go to the washroom(if your female) prior to a Canucks game. They just don’t have that many tills, and with waiting for the food to be prepared, the backlog builds.

This McDs is a war zone during lunch time. But what I like about this place is that you can usually find a decent seat, since most people gun for take-out. The best thing about McDs though, is their $ 1 McCafe and drink days. Personally I like the McCafes much more than Iced Capps or Frappuccinos. McCafes have fewer calories too. The other thing is that this location has a huge frontal view of Thurlow, so you can always watch the bustling crowd if that’s your thing. Oh, and there are newspapers here too. Yay! So why only 2 stars? It’s too @#%*!! hot in here. Basically the HVAC system sucks. The hot air from the drink and ice cream machines heats up the place to quite an uncomfortable level. It’s a problem when I walk in from the outside and am sweating within 30 seconds. Fortunately, you can get a nice big drink, and cool down afterwards~

By far one of the SLOWEST McDonalds I have ever been to. These employees would not make it in the real fast paced world of FASTFOOD! FML. This would never happen in Toronto…

Everybody loves McDonalds but say they hate it. Unhealthy, greasy, fattening, disgusting, tasteless junk food… yet there’s a line up here everyday. It’s not gourmet but the food is tasty and quick. I don’t expect a lot from McDonald’s but always enjoy the meal and feel satisfied afterwards. It’s easy and mindless to order and I get the food immediately. This one is particularly nice with a clean seating area and a big screen TV. I give it 4 for what my expectations for this kind of a place are.

This location is OK. I don’t have any special compliments or complaints. They keep remodeling the décor every few years, to make it more modern, I guess. It’s like they’re trying to be a fancy café. They put a TV in before the 2010 Olympics. The food is normal, the washrooms are fine. I see homeless people outside, but have never been bothered inside, as Rhody T. said he experienced. It’s generally easier to find a seat/get served quickly in the morning here than the Royal Square on Burrard off Georgia. They now have free Wi-Fi(Bell, I think) but it’s one of those that requires a special agreement page instead of just connecting.

Had an just okay experience at this location. This is right off the hubbub of Robson Street. There are numerous McDonald’s in this area, but settled on this one because it seemed less crowded. Kind of a seedy area. Seemingly the prices at McDonald’s appear to be higher in Canada though it could just be the locale in downtown. Came in for a snack and had the McChicken and a muffin. Both items tasted fine and as I expected. I do think the overall dining experience is a little bit lacking, but it is not a bad option if you are in the area looking for a quick bite.

Always full of homeless people begging for money and food, sometimes multiple times during the same visit. The staff never does anything about them. Skip it. There’s no shortage of McDonald’s restaurants in the West End/Downtown area.
