I’m a Dating and Relationship expert and founder of Matchmaker for Hire. My dating and relationship expertise comes from having spent the last 13 years in-the-trenches of matchmaking, hooking up couples and representing thousands of singles in the greater Vancouver, Calgary and Victoria areas.

I’ve worked with casting directors on the reality TV show Bachelor Canada, made appearances and arranged VIP hookups on The Real Housewives of Vancouver on Slice TV, and made a number of both local and national appearances on Global TV, CITY TV, CTV, Joy TV. I’ve also contributed to Zoomer Magazine, Elle Canada and Niche, where I maintained an advice column called Dear Jane. I’ve spoken live at the HGTV Main Stage for both the Vancouver & Calgary Home and Design Shows, as well as the Zoomer Show in Vancouver.

Buyer beware! They will take your money quickly, then take months to send you a «potential match.» Their clients are very average, so don’t waste your money. You’re much better off going on Plenty of Fish or
. Also, they would not refund any part of the $ 2600 I paid, even though I never used this service. It’s a scam.

This business is a scam. I paid a few thousand for absolutely nothing. I went on two dates, the first one was with someone who was fugly and then harassed me with emails following. The second one cancelled the date minutes prior and then it turns out the date was not even a client of the matchmaker for hire service. I asked politely for a refund or at least a prorated portion of the cost back after half a year with two bad dates. They refused and then I was told they are «working hard for me». Almost a year coming up this fall, and I have not heard anything from them. They told me during the interview, before I signed on that they had tons of matches for me and that they have tons of people interested in me. They lied and lied and continue to act unprofessional in their handling of my matter. I feel like they deceived me, misrepresented to me, and they are nothing better than scam artists. DON’T hire them or give them a single cent. I have started dating via eharmony and have had so many matches. I also have had better luck with my friends setting me up then these «professional matchmakers». What a total waste of money and time and how they handled my file is ridiculous. DON’T listen to their hogwash. They still refuse to refund me my money despite their lack of services rendered. I hope that nobody else falls for this scam as they are clearly con artists.

I have to admit i was very nervous about using a matchmaking service, but i feel like i have been single for too long. I looked at
and saw some matches, after that i spoke with Jane, she was extremely professional and helpful. She made the whole process very easy, i’m being setup with my matches and can’t wait.
The whole process was very refreshing i felt this was a great experience and can’t wait to see some success. If you’re on the fence i say give her a call.

I decided to give this a try after meeting with the owner who assured me she had plenty of suitable dates who would meet my criteria (which we discussed at length — for one hour!). As I didn’t sign up right away, both she and her assistant kept calling me encouraging me to sign up as they had suitable dates for me (or so they claimed).
I finally signed up and the first date was arranged… almost one month later! I actually had to call and follow-up to see why it was taking that long considering they had told me several times they already had several dates for me.
The first date wasn’t at all what I wanted so it really was a waste of money/time. I gave them my feedback and told them I wanted to have a second date. It’s been over a month and a half since then, and I still haven’t heard back.
It is quite disappointing, to say the least. I paid for a year of «membership» into… nothing!
I would say save your money and look elsewhere to meet people and find «the one». Matchmaker for Hire doesn’t have what it takes.
