I have their raincoats, one lightweight and one lined with wool. I’ve been wearing them exclusively… plus my cape (non-​M0851) which is so handy.
I’m a fan of the coats. Don’t own any of the leather ones though and don’t plan on getting any.

A full selection of bags, accessories, leather garments and outerwear designed by m0851. Most of the designs are basic, however, functional. The range in sizes and styles which makes this versatile. to be honest I find that these bags serve more of a purpose than other designer bags. Prices are what you would expect. Customer service is awesome.

My favourite item would be the «Sac rabat court» or known as the «Postman» bag! This bag comes in black or brown, and essentially is a messenger bag, but can be made shorter. This doesn’t look as «manly» as the laptop bag, and the brown leather definitely makes it more girly and less stark. My 17″ mac can fit in it, and not only does it fit, but when it is carried, it feels like nothing… because of the thick straps! My second favourite would be the «top zip large flap» bag. This bag looks more «rugged» especially in the colour cendre.
The only thing I wish was changed was the lining in the bags. Personally, when I see a basic black/​brown/​gray bag, I like the interior to be something completely amazing. It’s the same when I see the inside of a coat, or a men’s blazer. Sometimes the inside is completely the opposite of what is outside, which makes it that much more interesting. I do know that it’s easier to just do a basic black interior, because it would tailor to a lot more individuals. Perhaps give people the option if they want a pattern on the inside? Like me? :)
Additionally even though I love the company, I do not like m0851 printed on the goods (this is true for my clothing/​shoes/​bags from other brands as well); thankfully for me, the things that I like here don’t have them at all.
Please go, one of the best destinations for leather goods in Vancouver!
Also with leather (like with men), they get better with age.

They have some beautiful stuff here. I’m particularly fond of their raincoats. The leather bags are a bit hit-​and-​miss; some are lovely & sleek, with just the appropriate amount of heft, but most are too much like Roots bags for my taste. Like Roots’ bags, something will stick out (chunky stitching, ugly zipper tabs, overly shiny buckle/​zip/​snap) & cheapen the whole piece. Too many of their bags look mass-​produced. Of course they are — m0851 is a chain store — but being in here, I’m always reminded that I’d rather go to a leather atelier if I want a bag or wallet.
This is also the case for their wallets & card holders, which are functional but not at all charming. To draw a weird analogy with shoes, I get the sense that these accessories (& some of the more generic bags) are meant to look like a pair of dress shoes, but they look like a pair of hiking boots instead. Just kind of… clunky. The huge «m0851» logo that is embossed into the pieces (& particularly the wallets, given their size) is pretty tacky.
Don’t get me wrong — there are some really gorgeous bags and jackets in here, & they are well made. I can’t fault the construction or quality of the goods given the prices, hence the 4 stars despite the bags & wallets not being to my taste.
Staff here are very friendly, perhaps too much so. They seem to be trained to keep talking at a hectic pace about how great the object is, until the customer can’t bear it anymore & just buys it. It makes for a high pressure environment that is discomfiting. Getting away from the sales associate felt like scraping peanut butter off the roof of my mouth.

By boyfriend and I stumbled into this store just as I finished splurging next door at the Betsey Johnson closing sale.
I almost walked by it when he said, «hey, let’s check this place out for a bit.»
I’m so glad he had a sharp eye as the store is quite a gem. We were served by Raymond who is just fun to have around!
I think me must’ve spent well over an hour trying on the various supple leather. So fun. And Raymond was no pressure saying he doesn’t believe in making customers feel bad for not purchasing. That is DEFINITELY a first! For SURE they get a star for that!
It is definitely pricey but that’s what you have to pay for leather that lasts and doesn’t lose it’s shape. Just in love.
I didn’t buy anything but my boyfriend came out with a raincoat that looks HOT on him.
I’m definitely coming here for my leather jackets and bags. The experience really sets the tone for their customers to stay loyal and return tor future purchases.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet. It has ruined me. I cannot buy bags or leather goods anywhere else. I own a double-​digit number of items from this store; mostly bags and a few wallets. Last Christmas, I got everyone a credit card holder, which is the most ingenious invention for organizing cards. It is so convenient.
My top three bags are my city bag in khaki, my other city bag in black pebble leather, my black mini-​weekender, my acajou regular weekender, and my chestnut hockey bag. The greatest characteristic of these bags is that they are leather but LIGHT! I use my hockey bag as my carry on, and I am always amazed about how much I can put in there and how it remains so light. The inside of the bags in a water resistant material which is great in case anything spills. The bags are amazing in the rain. They do not stain or ruin, and they don’t even need to be sprayed.
All of the things I’m saying about the bags can be said about the jackets. Their jackets are so classic; they are truly an investment for life. A person could wear them for the next three decades, and the jacket will look better and better as it ages. Their seasonal colours for the jackets and accessories are just gorgeous.
Now, for the staff. They are passionate, friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. I love going into the store and having the staff know my name. They are always up for a chat, and they never hesitate to help. They are awesome when I am having a tough time making a decision, and they will take your name down and call you if you have to wait for an item to come in. They are diligent, and the store is immaculate.
One of the greatest things about the items in this store is that they are all made in Canada. Many people pay the same price (or WAY more) for leather goods that are made in India or Malaysia, but these bags are made in North America. There is no question that the quality is there. The bags are classic, too, so they can be worn forever.
If you are looking for quality leather goods that have a balance between being edgy and classic, this is the place to look. Ask for Kim, Mandy, Kelsey, or Raymond. They are awesome.

I adore, ADORE, m0851. Beautiful in make, minimal in design, timeless in cut and functional for a klutz like me, this is as good as it gets for made-​in-​Canada leather goods. Sorry vegan friends, I love you too, but these creamy buttery leather goods clutch at my heart and win me over every. single. time.
Sure, their wares will run a bit higher in terms of price, but dearlawd do they make up for it in longevity, quality and style.

i «accidentally» discovered m0851 during a business trip to montreal a few years ago & found the most beautiful bag… it was so nice, i bought it twice & gave one to my best friend. it was true love.
so u can only imagine my pure, unbridled joy when i discovered m0851 in vancouver — and a very cute dog @ the door as a greeter to boot!
the leather is soft, durable, & ages marvelously — it’s like buttah…

An original brand from Montréal, these leather goods are so pleasing to the eye and all of them are crafted so beautifully. The bags are phenomenal…
Using the finest leathers, the bags are the main reason I visit the store. Especially the hobo bag… and this season the lime and moss green designs are so cool! The leather has an almost recycled feel to it and a crumpled up look as well, so great, but it’s very high fashion and all. They also make wallets, hats and jackets as well as non-​leather garments, but leather is the focus.
