A co-worker and I decided to stop here for lunch as I had yet another wonderful Wonton deal. Laguna Blu describes their cuisine as «Italian with Latin Fusion — Fine Dining». We wandered over from the office and arrived at 12:15 — during what should have been the lunch rush. The restaurant was empty, the servers were standing around talking… Not the best first impression, but we were seated and warm, fresh bread was promptly delivered to the table. I had seafood linguine and my co-worker had the chefs special penne(bacon, spinach and mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce). Both plates were of decent size, arrived quite quick(probably because the place was dead, though) and looked pretty delicious. One of the things that turned me off about my meal: when the server came over and offered parmesan for our dishes, it was a small dish filled with the type of parm Kraft makes and sells in the shaker-type containers. Not fine dining at all by ANY standard… As I ate, I noticed that the scallops(as listed on the menu) were not included on my plate of seafood linguini. I decided not to make a big deal, because we didn’t have the time to complain or ask for new food. Some of my muscles were kinda gritty and the prawns were most definitely previously frozen… The sauce was nice and the pasta was cooked perfectly, so it wasn’t HORRIBLE, but I’ve absolutely had better. My coworker said hers was absolutely delicious, so maybe I just had bad luck. Our server was nice enough, we got our bill and our left overs packed up in short order — again though I think this was due to how slow it was. All in all, the place has potential I think. That being said, I don’t know how quick I’d be to eat here again.

I visited this place with a Groupon. It’s obvious why they needed to put one out The service was sparse at best. For a mostly empty restaurant, the waitresses sure had trouble managing… The food was NOT worth the menu price. Thank God I had a discount. I would NEVER pay full price for what we got. The penne alfredo was the smallest serving for the price I have ever seen and it tasted like a Michalena. The Chicken Cacciatore was completely flavourless. Absolutely nothing special about this place. I left feeling so unsatisfied and hungry. WIll not return

Terrible food, deafening, and truly horrible service. I attended the birthday party of a friend and from the moment I arrived I wanted to leave. The rude door staff only looked up from her cell phone long enough to tell me that there was a $ 12 dollar door charge. I was late to the party and immediately noticed that the table looked dirty and cluttered. The staff had not bothered to remove old appetizer and empty drink bottles and glasses. It took forever to order and even longer for my food to arrive. I wish I could upload a picture of how truly revolting the meal was. I ordered the chicken parmesan & veggies($ 22) and what arrived was a DISGUSTINGMESS. I initially thought it was a child’s microwave pizza. It was a spongy piece of chicken with damp breading absolutely smothered in low-grade cheese to disguise the fact that the chicken quality was utter crap. The«seasonal vegetables» lumped underneath the chicken/cheese mess consisted of a small limp carrot, a single piece of asparagus, half of an egg sized beet, and three loonie sized potatoes. All looked like they had been under a heat lamp ALL night. If the staff had ever come by to ask how my meal was, the would have seen that I was unable to choke down more than a few mouthfuls. When a woman that I assume was the owner or manager(older, no uniform, issuing orders) came by to help the overwhelmed server clear the table, she DROPPED A KNIFEONME and didn’t even apologize. She also did not acknowledge my almost untouched dinner. To add insult to injury, the bill came and many equally unsatisfied members of my party did not notice that the restaurant had tacked an automatic gratuity onto each of our bills. As we were waiting an eternity to pay, my eardrums were assaulted by the blasts of music that issued from the DJ booth. Many of my friends frequent bars and clubs and are used to loud venues, but ALL of us found the music far too loud at this establishment. As a serious headache started to form, I said my goodbyes and left determined never to return to the restaurant again.

Upon entering the restaurant we were not greeted. Staff was standing around. Food was over priced and staff did not know the menu. Another pet peeve was that they automatically tack on a 15% tip even though we were only 2 dining. When we left they did not even say good bye or thank you. A very portentous place. I would not go back even if you paid me.
