I’ll make this short: food, no; service, no. It was a nice day of shopping ruined by a terrible lunch experience. Sure, it was busy, but hello? We took the«bar» seats to save time; otherwise, it would have been another 45-minute wait for a table. Fine. We were given tea right away; this was a good start. Then, they took our orders for 5 bowls of noodles. Simple. Later, the noodles came one by one and stopped at 4 bowls. We tried desperately to let them know that they’ve missed an order but to no avail. They were ignoring us, almost intentionally. Finally, we gave up and dad went hungry. The soups were not very tasty. I had the lamb noodle soup and frankly, I didn’t have any edible pieces of lamb. It was just a bunch of tendons. Noodle itself was OK, though. I understand it’s handmade in-house. The 4 of us that got our orders didn’t enjoy it very much. It was also $ 10 – 13 each, which is quite expensive for the product. It was another ordeal to pay because we were being charged for all 5 orders. The server didn’t believe that we only received 4 bowls. She came to count our bowls only to confirm their mistake. Shan’t be back.

I had a craving for beef noodle soup with broad noodles. I searched everywhere on the Internet and finally found this place that had a picture similar to what I wanted. The reviews weren’t great but a craving is a craving. I ordered the Kung Fu Beef noodle soup and was surprised when I saw it was 12.99. I order phở and ramen all the time and never pay that much. Anyways it came out and did have a variety of stuff in it. Lots and lots of «planed» noodles which is what us white people call«broad» noodle so I got what I wanted. It also had some mung bean noodles in it which was nice. Good cuts of beef, and it was topped with wood ear mushrooms, dried tofu, cilantro, green onion and two quail eggs. There were almost too many planed noodles in it for my preference, next time I would order«half noodles». I don’t know what it is about quail eggs that I find so gross. I love love love chicken eggs and don’t feel right unless I have at least an egg a day. For some reason I just can’t appreciate quail eggs which is disappointing. All in all it was tasty and hit the spot but not sure if it was worth the money. Maybe 12.99 for lamb or seafood but just for regular beef I would say 9.99 is adequate for the dish. That would have made it 4⁄5 stars. For that reason, I probably won’t make it a regular place when I crave noodle soup but it didn’t disappoint. I am satisfied.

House made noodles ftw! This tastes like a home made food I absolutely loved it!!! Very delicious; a different kick to your ordinary phở because of the hand made noodles. Loved the texture of the noodles. If you are someone who appreciates house-made/hand-made kinds of dishes I recommend you to check this place out! The broth was great as well.

This place is 50⁄50 at best. I ordered the standard Lanzhou beef noodle soup and it tasted decent. Noodles were good but it was lacking meat portions… Especially for $ 9+ dollars. I came with 5 other people and half had decent experiences and other half had a rough time. One person found a piece of copper wire(from a scrubbie) in her soup. The other person got the wrong soup and the waiter gave her a tough time about not recognising the differences between beef and lamb. It became a bit of a scene since he was reluctant to get the order correct. In the end it was fine but that experience was awkward. The place looks like a lunch room so don’t come with high expectations for décor. Price was a bit much for the content and its hit or miss. I probably wouldn’t come back not worth the trouble.

Really bad service, sadly typical Chinese food place. Even though the food is good but the service really upsets people.

They don’t really speak English well, and as a result, they’ve gotten my order wrong many times(I only speak Cantonese unfortunately), but because we live nearby, we do end up getting take out from here quite often. The noodles taste really good, and they’re fried with a lot of oil, like they’re supposed to be! The dumplings are also really good, but they seem to take a lot of time to make.

Summer was gone all of sudden and today we have a bit of rain and it is cold. So I felt like some nice warm hot noodles. I ordered Dandan noodle which I never had before but it was noodle and it is supposed to be hot so I ordered. The menu didnt say anything about it being greasy. It is mot just greasy but it was really really greasy and covered in lard! Now I feel like I just chugged the whole bucket of lard. I will get sick later for sure and I feel nauseous now. Yuck! Dont eat their Dandan noodle!

3.5÷5. Above average fast food style Chinese food. Yup, you should not expect restaurant calibre of food and services here. It’s food court outside food court. In general their portion is not as generous as most people associate Chinese food with, but I would still say their combo value is decent. The cold dishes are decent in flavor and authenticity, their noodle less so. Content is a little sparse, and taste is a bit bland. Nothing to sing about. The star there is actually their Red-Cook Chicken, despite of them being a noodle house. I’ve had this particular dish during a recent trip to China, and I will say all the flavor profiles are there. What they are lacking is(again) the portion and also texture. The chicken is pretty small, even if you order it whole. The meat is on the dry side. But overall, we come here once in a while when we crave the taste of home!

Food is ok taste and price and convenient. Service is pretty much«not with a smile» attitude. Eg: So asking to take my order before I even got a menu and seemed pissed she had to bring me one. But the place is convenient.

THE Worst Chinese Restaurant in Vancouver. Their food taste like ASS and the people are super unfriendly. Ok, I know for asian take a ways places there is a certain low quality standard that comes with the atmosphere, but I dont think MICE are apart of the décor are they? The place is dirt and always empty… No wonder! Staff are super unfriendly and food sucks. Dont waste your money or time like I did. BEWARE of specials as they give you Smaller portions too. Went there twice and will never go back, they piss people off, me included. They honestly suck on my dumplings before I will ever go back! You are warned. PS. They use FAKE Photos on Unilocal,do not believe the advertising.

Came here for lunch once and ordered Lan Zhou Noodles. Noodles were yummy but I find the portion too small. Price was okay and the interior was quite simple. I’ll only come back because I LOVENOODLES but not particularly for the food here.

Such a shitty place in terms of service. They don’t even care that you are here. The waitresses are giving you Shit face because you are here to bother them. No smile, no greeting, no response. This is the new low of customer service. Seriously I don’t care about how good or bad the food is, because now I am not in the mood of eating after service like this. Edit: confirmed that the food is as shitty as the service. AVOIDTHISRESTAURANT.

Very disappointed with the service and food quality the other day during lunch. Friend and i ordered the kung fu beef chow mein and you should have seen ask the oil on the bottom. Actually, I will post a picture. I should have sent it back for a fresh one. I guess what made it worse was when i saw one of the servers smell the food. Maybe that should have been a red flag! When the waitress came to take our plates, i showed her all the oil. Even she looked a bit disgusted. She even showed the selling guy and he looked a but concerned. I think he yelled something at the kitchen. No one came over to us to hear our concerns. But even when we went up to pay. Sad. Service speed was fine. Quality of food just ok. Price is decent. I’m going to pass on this place for the next few months.

Food: 3.5÷5 Service: 2⁄5 Ambiance: 2⁄5 This rating is just for the food. ;) A solid 3.5 for their noodles. The place looks underwhelming from the outside and looks more suitable if found in one of the many Richmond strip malls! ;) Great noodles made in house!

I found it a bit surprising that there is such an ethnic regional chinese food shop in the middle of downtown. They do hand pulled and knife cut noodles as well as a typical assortment of chinese dishes. The Lanzhou beef noodles is heavy on the carbs. I thought the noodles were cooked nicely. If they had used kansui, then the texture would have been great as japanese style ramen. The meat was a disappointment. It had been oversteamed or overcooked, so it was soft to the point of falling apart. For this kind of pressed meat, I like it to be more like a thick gelatin-like consistency. I liked the soup though. It was a straight up beef broth. If you’ve ever cooked a beef broth from scratch, you’ll know that there’s not actually much flavor in it. Or rather we can say that the flavor is subtle and delicate. Usually the flavor comes from the seasoning and spices. I find it relatively rare to get a straight beef broth at most restaurants. The tendency is to use beef bouillon to speed up the process or to add carrots and veggies for more flavor. I don’t know if it’s a Lanzhou dish or not, but some lamb curry on noodles would have been great here.

Delicious Northern style beef, pulled/stretched noodles. You can go no wrong choosing this noodle soup. We also had the pork jelly YUM s the flavour is spicy and salty, but the texture is not for everyone. It has a consistency of tendons prepared like a terrine. And the beef rolls. It’s pan fried dough wrap with spring onions, sliced beef, and some savoury brown sauce. Wow! You could have a months old affair with this roll! Service is quick. We had a Mandarin speaker with us, which made it go all the more quicker when ordering. Basic atmosphere — It’s bright and clean. They utilise the walls with photographs of the dishes they serve, so you can just point to what you want. Price: Inexpensive. Good eats for the price point. Payment: Cash or Credit — you’ll get out a lot sooner if you pay in cash. Party Size: keep it small. In the arrangement of the tables, nothing more than 4. Reservations: I don’t know. I didn’t hear the phone ring that much coz it was so busy. Phone:(604) 563‑5666 Take out: Yes, they have a smaller menu for that. Might have to order there and take it to go. Repeat customer: Yes, you’ll find me here for lunch again. I’d walk thru the rain for the food!

Used to be Thai restaurant. I ordered lamb cumin skewers and it was good, the calamari was tasteless and their main course noodle was pretty oily with A FEW slice of beef. They put 3 pieces of brocoli and TONS of white cabbage with turn into garbage. They don’t remove the cabbage spine so the noodle taste so bitter. Yes, bitter indeed. I asked if I can get any sauce for the fried calamari as their batter pretty much tasteless. They said«no sauce» whatttttt! Anyway we didn’t finish it. I don’t think I will coming back.

Hubby says«ya it was good but I just feel like the chicken and beef had a previous life» Came here on a social shopper and got to try 2 entrees and 2 appies. I had the Lang Zhou pulled noodles in soup and hubby had the dark fried rice. We shared the red chicken and spicy beef appies. My soup noodles were OK, thought the noodles were a bit overcooked, and there was only 3 sad slices of beef. Not worth $ 8.50 at all. The fried rice was really good though and we’d totally order that again. No clumps, evenly chopped and distributed toppings like Chinese sausage, corn, etc.(But is it worth $ 9.95?) The appies(the chicken and beef) were OK, poor presentation, overly salty. Can take or leave it. Service was lacking. It’s what you’d expect from a HK café in Richmond but with more staring and silent treatment. I won’t come back, I’d rather put the $ 8.50 in a burrito from Chipotle. Hubby says not to be so negative and to make sure that I mention that they display and show that they pull their own noodles. I say it doesn’t matter if the noodles are going to be miscooked.
