After a great night of drinking, dancing and tipping the bartenders well. I had $ 2 left in my wallet. Enough to grab a glass of water before heading home(I thought.) I asked the bartender for a glass of water, and was asked to buy a bottle of water for $ 4. No big deal, but I didn’t have the cash on me. I asked the bartender if I could get a simple glass of tap water for a $ 2 tip, to which he said«No, this is a private establishment and we get to set our prices.» –12:47am, February 21st

Been there several times, and if you like rock music this place is way to go. Beer is good, entrance is cheap, people are interesting.

A diversity of eccentric characters come to socialize and dance away to underground punk, rock, electronic and pop tunage. Cheap beverages and fun times; The Hindenburg never disappoints. Dance floor and stage are near the entrance. Climb up the stairs and your at the bar which overlooks the stage/dancefloor. You’ll also find pool tables and arcade games.

My friend and I decided to check this place out on a Saturday night since we were looking for a place to dance and both like electronic music. We heard that they opened at 10 p.m. and decided to arrive just after they opened. Probably unsurprisingly, the club was dead when we arrived, but the DJ was playing so we got a seat. More people started to trickle in at about 10:30 p.m., but the place still did not have a lot of people when we left at 11:30 p.m. The coat check was $ 3 per person and they were picky that you couldn’t combine stuff together from two people to pay for one hanger. I thought this was rather ridiculous since all of our stuff could easily fit on one hanger. The guy who was doing the coat check could of been friendlier too. As far as the DJ, I thought he was OK, but the music he was playing was sort of hard to dance to. It also didn’t help that we were the only people dancing there with most other people hanging out by the bar. A lot of the women were dressed to impress, so it was that kind of club vibe. I tend to prefer places were people dress more casual since I think it makes it more about the music and dancing rather than just posturing. I would consider coming back if someone else wanted to go, but I don’t think I’ll be recommending this spot myself.

If you go here expecting it to be like the old 23 west, you’ll be very disappointed. The new bar staff are very young and for the most part range from quite unprofessional to downright rude(there are of course a couple exceptions to this). I watched one young woman who would make fun of customers, drink on the job and constantly play with her phone(even when there was a line). I find it really upsetting because I was a long time 23 west customer and over the years I have never seen this type of behaviour tolerated. I guess it’s time to find another place to visit and spend my money. I will consider giving them another chance in a few months, but if things haven’t changed I will not be going back.
