So it turns out this is THE original Freshslice location. They really should put up a plaque or something. I only found out after one of the staff mentioned it. Parking is available on the side streets, as well as the major streets outside of rush hour. The location is sadly quite dirty. The tables were a bit of a mess, and there were food bits everywhere. Might just be the clientele though. Staff were friendly and quite chatty, which was nice. The slice of pizza I had was delicious.

Worst customer service. Pizza was gross. I was assaulted by a staff member who misplaced his cell phone. 3 staff locked me and 3 young children and my friend in the resteraunt even after I showed them my bag. Which I didn’t have to. They are racist jerks. The guy who grabbed me. A single mom. Also. Found his cell phone in his own possession after I called 911. On the jerk for cornering me and my daughter. Also. The cops who showed up. Did nothing. Go figure. probly on the take. Undercover cops. Probly getting free pizza.

Probably the worst pizza slice chain in Vancouver– it’s edible but is really quite poor quality. The dough is gross and cheap. And am I the only one who thinks their logo looks like a hungover Pacman puking? Uncle Fatih’s blows them away. But the best i’ve had in the city is Mediterranean Fire on commercial. Incredible value.

Really greasy, and I’ve found hair in a slice. One star is generous. No excuse with Uncle Fatih’s so close

When fresh slice opened in the early 2000s they had this fantastic pizza-omelet breakfast pie with omelette baked onto a pizza crust. I was so excited to be able to buy a $ 2 slice of that at 8 on the way to work… I guess it didn’t sell well, and now the staff claim to have never heard of it. The pizza is OK, the cheese a little less greasy than some others. Toppings are very sparse. If the price was a real issue for me, I’d come here, but it isn’t, so … I head to a place with more veggie toppings.

Two things I like about Fresh Slice: — They serve their pizzas(eat-in) on plastic plates, which the environmentalist in me digs — hey, fewer paper boxes and less garbage are good things, in my view — Their $ 3.33 lunch special is pretty solid, for two slices of pizza and a fountain soda. Plus HST, you have a quickie, cheap meal for less than two toonies. Recession-friendly fast eating out, right here! The pizza itself is decent. I’m a fan of the crust, which has a depth of flavour without being greasy, and all the slices I’ve had are consistently ‘thinner’ and ‘lighter’ tasting than some other pizza places. I guess I’m not crazy about the super chunky, thick types of pizza, so this helps give the pie a lighter taste. Location’s convenient, next to the Commercial Drive-Broadway Skytrain Station, but I wish they were open a few hours later. Shutting down delivery at 11pm kinda sucks for those hunger and laziness-induced late-night bad decisions.

In spite of the name, I’m afraid this pizza joint is not all that fresh, or even all that tasty. It’s okay if all you want is to grab a quick slice, but if you want a quick slice that actually tastes good, I’d look for a slice somewhere else.
