To Beverly W.(who wrote the mean comments)…why are you so snobby?.. jeez…the whole vintage experience is summed up in one word…“Echo”. You feel like you are in the past. The owner is so freaking nice. A true hippie for us to enjoy! Another person wrote a a comment saying she seeks stuff out for you if she doesn’t have what you are looking for… that’s true. she did it for me before too. The store even has expo ’88 t-shirts and lotsa kids clothing. A true vintage store. When you are able to find clothing from the 1900’s.i would say you got some talent at picking the goods. you can tell heart and soul goes into each excursion made to find unique truly retro pieces. You CAN find you’re golden gem in this store… even if it isn’t your newly cultivated posh«snob hour» thrift store.

Oh my gosh, what a find! I’m so glad I finally went into this second-hand clothing and homewares store. Echo doesn’t have great curb appeal, so I’d never walked in before but today I was on the hunt for a groovy lamp and boy was I in luck. I ended up with this gorgeous teak wood and gold lamp and I am thrilled! Plus, it was only $ 60 — a total steal. Hanging from the roof of this store are some awesome lights, some genuine 50’s glass shades and tons of sinew ones as well. Echo also stocks men’s and women’s retro clothing, but I was too enamoured with the lighting to even look at these items.

Echo — Icko. Lordy, Lordy. I can’t stand shopping in secondhand clothing stores where the owners have not bothered to clean and sort their goods. Echo reeks of dank dirty shoes, greasy scalp smell and musty unwashed clothes. It doesn’t help that the lighting is quite dark, and on rainy days the place smells like your creepy neighbor’s dirty old garage. Secondhand shopping doesn’t have to induce the heebie jeebies like this. Plenty of consignment store owners take the time to clean and present their wares in an appealing way. Look at Legends, just up the street on Main. There is no stench there, and the place is always full of browsers.
