Busters Towing

This place is one of the worst businesses in Vancouver. They don’t store cars properly, the parking lot is tiny and cramped, and the staff is crude and careless. They don’t care at all about how your car fares, and just simply leaves it there to rot. They leave the keys inside the car, so anyone that got into the yard can easily hop onto a car and go. They don’t even take extra caution for rare and expensive cars, and still leave the keys inside and at the edge of the parking lot. They are overpriced and basically suck. I hope this business can go bankrupt and be replaced with a more proper, better towing service.

Worse customer service. These guys should close down. City of Vancouver and ICBC should look for different towing company.

WORSE ever. I call a truck takes 2hrs plus while i am stranded in the middle of nowhere. City calls to tow you takes 5 minutes. Such crap.

They overcharged us, charged us tax twice, however, not worth the company’s administrative hours to correct this. Even though we had authorized a certain amount to be charged on the card they over twiced us on double the tax. Staring at both the receipt and CC to confirm this.

Busters towing is the worst. Their staff, specifically the woman with the godawful long nails is the worst human to deal with ever!

These guys towed my car with my dog in it, and when I frantically asked where they took the vehicle they laughed at me and said, «over there near Main.» I had to press the guy to give as much information as «Industrial and Main.» The service at the desk of the impound office was slow and glib. Okay guys, you already have a terrible job where you do terrible things to people, do you have to make it worse by being so uncaring? Also, City of Vancouver, how is it legal to sponsor certain towing companies?

I wonder what poor life choices these people made to work for a disgusting company like busters. I feel sorry for your employees. GFY

it was christmas season. so after a friend’s dinner, i hopped back on my scooter and headed home. i arrived, opened up my garage door, parked my bike and about to close the door for a good night’s sleep, a cop car pulls in.

officer h. jumps out of his vehicle to declare authority.
i made a mistake, but i am an adult man and respect law. most of the time, just like anybody else.
he asks me rudely if i operated the vehicle.
if i said no, there was absolutely nothing he could do.
i said yes, coming back from a party.
did i drink? of course, it was a fucking party.
apparently somebody saw me wobbling at lights, but it could be anything on a icy night.
anyway he does his thing, i blew the whatevermeter that is, and failed. 3 months suspension.
well deserved i guess. i mean we all do these things. whatever. i am not gonna lie at the age of 35.
even though i did not like him hassling me, and being rude, i did mind a vehicle parked in a private property being towed, especially for a month. concerned, i asked office h. what would be the charges of this impound, because it was not gonna serve anything other than our proud officer’s ego… he said minimal charges, not too much.
i took my Vespa back today. it was dirty, beaten by a whole month’s winter conditions. stored outside.
$ 875 was the bill.
NOW, MAY I ASK?
–HOW COME ARE YOU PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO PICK A VEHICLE UP (49cc scooter by the way), AND CHARGE THIS KIND OF MONEY, BUT NOT STORE IT PROPERLY, AND/​OR TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT? HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF SHIT!!!
you know what happens to good and honest people. they get fucked over every once in a while like this. but i go to sleep very well, at peace.
i lost my license for 3 months, therefore i had get it towed back my place. odd enough my towing guy mario says, i do not need to wear a seat belt, cos he knows all the cops and he works with them all the time. apparently he is cool with police officers, and i am not as cool…
isn’t that something?
and just for that grand finale, i am giving you people 5 shiny fucking stars!

Motor vehicle theft (sometimes referred to as grand theft auto by the media and police departments in the US) is the criminal act of stealing or attempting to steal a car. how does this not sound fishy to anyone. thanks for stealing my car. then extorting $$$ from me. i love how they avoid questions like the crooked city of Vancouver politicians they work for. «sorry. bring it to the city of vancouver» i love how the city of vancouver will penalize you for contesting the ticket/​tow as well. bravo. keep up the good work jerks.
is there any way to refuse towing from these guys? Drake’s towing at least has a 4 star review… :(

THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS! Location: granville near drake in front of subway. I came upon my car when the tow driver had just unlocked my door. It WAS NOT lifted, so the tow driver upon seeing me quickly goes over and STEALS (yeah like a ninja) he grabs my parking ticket in front of me. He then tells me I have to pay $ 40 for a «drop» charge. WTFF! What drop charge?! The car wasnt lifted… was he going to make machine noises with his mouth pretending my car was being released to the ground and then give me a cookie?!
I could tell he knew he wasnt fast enough to get the car or had anything to get me so he resorted to EXTORTION. And what about stealing the ticket? Was busters going to bill me for a tow that never happened. Luckily my friends were there for support and we all knew the car wasnt in his possesion. He was threatening to call the cops etc. What a low life. Eventually he gives back my ticket after some talk, but what a town we live in where aholes with tow trucks can try to extort honest working folks.
IF YOU ARE EVER IN THIS SITUATION:
–Call the police. Sooner they are there, the less likely they will try to bully you.
–RECORD EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE, making sure you get all the details including driver and license of tow driver. You have the RIGHT to film anyone in a public place. If he touches you that is assault.
–Stand your ground and stand in front of your car and dont allow them to tow unless they have a right to do so. You have the right to move your car even after receiving a ticket.
–YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO LEAVE if they have not lfited your car up. They are just pissed because they lost a commision and will resort to trickery and deceit to get you to give them money. THEY POCKET THE MONEY AS WELL.
IF THEY HAVENT LIFTED YOUR CAR, THEN THEY HAVENT GOT SHIT.
We all need to make a living but extortion and hostility shouldnt be rewarded.

The building signage says «Vancouver Impound Yard» but it’s actually run by Buster’s Towing, not the City of Vancouver. The staff are evasive about this. It appears that Buster’s get all the proceeds from collecting the impound fee, which seems to be set arbitrarily, as there aren’t any posted rates.

So I hired these guys to tow a completely dead motorcycle. I called them the day before to arrange an appointment for 9 am.
So 8:15 next day I get phone call, «Can I grab your bike now, I’m only two blocks away?»
45 minutes early, not exactly what I had in mind but ok.
Get it loaded up and on his way, all which was done very professionally to say something positive. Get it to the repair shop, unloads it and then proceeds to tell me he has some bad news. I’m thinking the worst, but it turns out he doesn’t have a Visa card machine, when I specifically asked for it the day before. So now here I am no cash, have to go find a bank to pay this guy $ 95 for towing my bike 3 km.
All in all nice guy, took care of my baby, but very poorly organized. Wouldn’t recommend them.

I didn’t get towed. No… My roadside assistance company called these clowns to help me with a flat tire. They said they’d be there in 30 min to 1 hour.
1hr 40min later they are still promising to be there quickly! The guy finally shows up. Not even a «hello» nevermind getting an apology! Then he proceeds to tell me the name and # of a garage that will fix my tire «cheap»!
Hmm let me think about this… You let me wait on the side of the road for nearly two hours … When I legitimately need your service and you will legitimately be paid… So you can tow people’s cars because they parked ¼ of an inch too close to the corner with no markers and grab more cash… And I’m supposed to go to your friends shop so you can also get a kickback?!
These guys have little respect for people in general! Just disgusting service!

I get it. Park in a permit zone and roll the dice but I swear these guys just circle around looking for cars to tow. In the few minutes there could not possibly have been a call but low and behold I walk out and voila I have a vanishing car. I suppose my one star cherry had to be broken at some point…

The evil car towing company circulating downtown Vancouver like hawks. Rude, sketchy and with bad vibes.
I understand that they are evil because of what they do, but why do their personnel have to be so evil too? If you’ve ever experience a car tow with them, I’m sure you can relate, as I find so many others instantly can once I share my experiences with them! Busters is among the worst businesses in Vancouver to deal with and it angers me that the City has outsourced all downtown towing to this company in particular.
If you drive and park on the streets of downtown Vancouver often like I do, you know that this very action can be stressful! The City issues parking tickets the very moment you’re overdue on the meter and Busters tows within seconds. I swear there‘s some kind of Big Brother video cam watching over us and a big red beeping button that lights up to target us like we’re pons!
So, I was towed a couple weeks back and I deserved it. I missed one of the signs on the meter. I thought that I could park after 10PM until 9AM in the morning, but I missed the extra time restrictions in smaller print on the side that said no stopping, 7AM-​9AM. Fine. Tickets suck, but it takes a lot more to get me upset, so I went to pick it up on Main. Just like last time, the attendant was so rude, disrespectful and acted completely annoyed with the logistical questions I asked. This was what ruined my day. I felt like she assumed I was going to be angry at her, so she felt she had to be mean, rude and condescending first. I’ve experienced this before with them, and so many people have shared similar stories with me.
In another case a couple months back, my dad’s friend was towed after misreading a sign with the small extra restrictions on the side (just like I did). Busters dented the front of her BMW in the towing process. When she brought it up, they treated her with disrespect, argued vigorously with her and said they could do nothing about it. It cost her over $ 1000 after the damages.
Busters is full of bad vibes, bad practices (CBC:
) and personnel that need to learn how to work with people better. They’re in need of a rebrand, reassessment in unlawful business practices and corporate culture update. No one likes them because of how they do what they do and the perception they create for themselves: They are the evil car towing company that inconveniences busy people and treats them like dirt in the process, and were just very lucky for the City to guarantee them business… However, I think there is hope that they can do better, but only if they care to improve themselves: They could be the car towing company whose priority is to maintain clear traffic patterns and good traffic flow in the City, especially in busy rush hour, so that commuters can get from A to B without any backups … and who strives to treat their customers well by guiding them through the process easily and with respect. Perhaps, one day.
