The Pie Hole

Jenell was so amazing. I ordered a pie for my friend’s birthday and she was more than helpful with helping me coordinate delivery and payment even though I am in London and was extremely attentive with my emails. Plus they have an amazing selection. If you want to send someone baked goods for their birthday, send them a Pie Hole pie!!!

Great crust! Probably the best pie crust I have ever had. The steak pie was amazing. The banana cream is also quite delicious. I will definitely be buying more pies from this place and I can’t wait for summer fruit to be in season.

Great pies! I ordered the apple pie and the pulled pork pie.
Jenell was friendly and accommodating. I ordered on Saturday and she was able to finish the pie by Monday.
The price is a little bit on the higher end, but definitely worth it.

To be fair, I had a fresh mini pie from the Farmer’s Market and it was delicious. I guess it makes a big difference if you buy it fresh versus one that has been sitting in a store or bakery for a few days.

It should be zero star rating, but we cant be that cruel, after all its eatable,
I am biased, I have had key lime pies from the Florida keys most likely some of the best key lime pies out there however, given the price and reviews on here I was expecting a high caliber product.
Big disappointment,
After reading a lot of reviews I went and ordered the Key lime pie, the crust they use is very sub par gummy not a crunchy graham cracker crust most of us are used to (look carefully at the picture notice the crust is dark brown, its supposed to be a golden brown. FAIL!), I could do a better job at home honestly, and I am not even joking about this, just a do it yourself non professional at home Baker. Yes you can do better!
The filling not very thick, the ratio of condensed milk to lime and eggs, they mix was off, basically a FAIL! also looks like they use lime juice from concentrate not real limes, another FAIL!,
Pie hole needs to eat more pies, to understand what a real key lime is supposed to taste like, this is what happens when you have customers with lack of experience buying from a baker with lack of experience neither party knows any better.
Limited scope, sorta like teaching a monkey to speak english it’s not as easy as it looks in the movies.
The box they put the pies in is not well packed ours ended up getting bounced in the car which was another disappointment, but no marks off for that this review is only based on taste and quality of the product itself.
Its just a bad product/​bad recipe.
Quality is ¹⁄₅ value is ⁰⁄₅ (22 dollars for the pie) presentation is good ⁴⁄₅ but ours wasnt well packed.

the Box should have fit the pie better for transportation (and yes, we were careful not to drive like the fast and furious.)
I hope to order some other stuff to give them a better review but this pie is just awful and too expensive all around.
Much better choices for Key lime elsewhere I wouldn’t recommend these people for key lime, I know this review sounds like a rant

It was my husband’s 30^th birthday and he is a huge fan of Banana Cream Pie so I decided to find the best Banana Cream Pie in town. I wasn’t going to take a chance with just some dessert place, it needed to be the best so of course I googled ‘Best Banana Cream Pie Vancouver’ and came across a food review that featured the Pie Hole. Upon viewing their website, I was ‘ooohing’ and ‘awwing’ at all the different types of pies available. Their Banana Cream Pie was fittingly called ‘To Die For Banana Cream Pie’. I was SOLD.
Before I decided to make my purchase, I had noticed on the website that there was no store-​front location and/​or hours of operations posted online so I sent them an email to ensure that I could pick up on a Sunday.
I received a very prompt response back from Jenell and she advised me that the bakery was not open on Sunday but she was willing to meet me there so that my husband could have his pie on his actual birthday. I was blown away at the level of service and commitment to her customers.
Instead, I came and picked up a day early so Jenell wouldn’t have to make the extra trip but that night my husband and I had the most delicious Banana Cream Pie. It was literally ‘To Die For’. We stuffed ourselves and we were craving for more. We actually ended up inviting some friends over the next day so we could share the deliciousness with them.
We will definitely be ordering again soon to try out some of the other pies. There is quite a variety to choose from to fill every person’s taste bud. Thanks Jenell and team!

You know that scene in romantic movies where the lead characters dramatically run towards one another in super slow-​mo? That’s how I felt running across the Make It floor towards these guys today.
They make good pie.
I have not had the chance to try these magical savoury pies that others have mentioned (will investigate further this weekend) but the pecan butter tart? Radness. Little heavy on the dough but delicious nonetheless. The movember pie crust moustaches? Both tasty and a legitimate excuse to take an exaggerated selfie on a busy trade show floor. Fan.
But the pecan bourbon pumpkin pie? I shall return for you. This was so good, that I couldn’t wait and ate it in the rain while walking to my car — thus, checking off another movie cliché and earning a solid, and enthusiastic five stars.

I try the Pie Hole every chance I get! My favourite so far is the Bacon Cheeseburger, but I have yet to be disappointed by any of their offerings. I hit them up at pretty much every food event and craft show. Would love to see a shop front one day!

I’ve tried a few of their pastries already. I really like the idea of pie pops to reduce my guilt). Hoping to see more flavours of that. The blueberry cream pie was really really good. The strawberry rhubarb was okay.

Sexy name for some average pies. I like the concept of pies and lately it seems as though there are a lot of pie places opening up here and there. Pies are the new cupcakes. The selection and ideas of pies are awesome. I love the idea of a mac & cheese pie. I have seen the ladies working the tables at various events. I sampled some pies, however, was unable to get a whole pie to purchase as they did not offer anything gluten free. Fair prices, awesome ladies and good flavors.

I first saw the Pie Hole at the Nov 2012 Make It! craft fair where I was very tempted to get their mac & cheese pie but since I had dinner plans, I got a black cherry cheesecake pie. This pie didn’t really work for me but it was still tasty and the crust was expertly executed so it made me interested to try something else of theirs. It felt to me like this was a trial pie that just missed the mark a little. So why the 5 star review? Fast forward to today where I ran into them at an event in Yaletown and rectified not getting that mac & cheese pie. This pie was excellent, the crust remained flaky and delicious even after a little microwave time to get the cheese melty and the pasta hot. The mac & cheese itself was no slouch. It was creamy and flavourful, pairing excellently with the pie dough. It feels rare to find somewhere that does a really good job on their pie crust and I really look forward to trying more of their pies.

5 stars for their Salted Caramel Pecan Tarts. My fave flavours, in one $ 3 dessert! The mouth-​watering combination of sweet and salty, with the crunch of the cookie crust, and the softness of the chocolate. I was at the Make It Craft Fair when the sign for this delicious creation caught my eye. Yep, had to buy one! Came back the next day for another haha, such a sinner…
I will seek them out once again… Wish I took more time to chat with the lovely ladies, although I was on the run both times I bought a S.C.P.T. (acronymicize!) Gimme anotherr! Maybe even a pie next time too.

if this is the same pie hole that was t the xmas craft fair that i attended on nov 11, 2012, then i was not impressed. i went to their booth which had some tarts on display which i decided to buy 1 butter tart & 1 tart with some kind of fudgy filling with pretzel, & pecan topping. the girl at the booth mentioned they won 1^st place in a county fair in langley. with that in mind, i was looking forward to trying out the tarts. my friend & i were both hungry and decided to share the butter tart. upon splitting it in half, the fillling fell away from the tart shell & the bottom was slightly burnt. the flavor was okay but the shell didn’t seem fresh. i was hoping the fudgy tart would be better but it wasn’t any better. the shell was really hard to bite into & the fudgy filling had some kind of caramel layer (with burnt pieces) that should have melted in myy mouth but instead, it stuck to my teeth.
piel hole may have won at a fair, but it definitely didn’t win me over to buy their bake goods again!!!

I bought pies from the Pie Hole at the make it market this past weekend. The savory hand pies were great. I bought the cheeseburger, everything else was sold out but they sounded amazing, it was great! Cooked perfectly at home and my house smelt wonderful. I also had a butter tart and an avocado cream pie. Sounds strange, but really, really good! My boyfriends mother bought some and has already placed an order online with The Pie Hole for frozen meat pies. So easy for dinner when you are running short on time. They are super easy to work with and very accommodating. Great pies and great service! :)
