If you want to avoid the line-up in more popular coffee shops then Sun’s Coffee is for you. There aren’t that many choices for cakes and pastries but they do have the basics. Muffins, croissants and scones are available. I got the Cheese Scone. I find it very very dry that I almost choked haha. I got the London Fog. It’s a bit pricey for tea($ 5). But I’m glad I ordered it. You know how you can’t leave your tea bag for more than 5 minutes or else you get a very bitter drink? Well I had the earl grey tea bag on my cup for almost 10 minutes but it didn’t get too bitter! The service is friendly. The interior is minimalist. Leather couch and leather bar chairs. If you like people watching while sipping your favourite cup of tea then I suggest you sit on the bar chairs facing the window. The washroom is quite unique. It has a piece of vertical glass panel that turns frosted once you lock the door. Pretty neat! Just always remember to lock up otherwise there goes your privacy.

Just moved into the neighborhood and out of all the coffee shops(there’s one on every corner!) this one has the best latte! Very small pastry selection but the vibe was mellow, the seating was comfy & the coffee was good!

I saw this reviewed on the front page of Unilocal on April 28th, therefore, book marked it for future reference. This is part of my 100 coffee shops in 52 weeks challenge. I had some time to kill before a concert that day and decided to work on my art piece for my cousins wedding. The weather was nice, therefore, sat by the window for some extra inspiration. Hours of operation are extremely user friendly. There isn’t much in the pastry department. Their London Fog is $$$ at almost $ 5 and that is not including the soy or almond milk substitute. Instead I had a ghetto version with just 2 tbsp cream, early grey tea and low cal sweetener. Good enough for me. Lots of seating, very awesome setting with neutral décor. They played a lot of hipster music like Lana Del Ray, Empire of The Sun, Two Door Cinema Club, Metric etc. therefore, had some creative inspiration. Very weird bathroom with see through walls that go frosted when you look the door. I went here a few times I had so much tea. Some stuck a cute Daniel Johnston sticker in the washroom. Customer service was friendly.

Highly recommend on the bullet latte, heard the owner is picky on the ingredient that they use to make the coffee… Super good!

My dog ate rat poison outside this place and I had to pick up the $ 300 vet bill. The pile of rat poison was outside on the patio area against the shop wall. No smoke without fire as they say. The owners also ignored all of my attempts to reach out to them: voicemails, in store messages left with staff, and even a message directed to them via the Yaletown Business Association. I’ve still yet to hear anything. And before they try to claim that this was under the previous incarnation of this café, it wasn’t. So go there, as long as you don’t mind rats or possible death to pets and kids via freely available patio rat poison. Take note dog owners of Yaletown, this is what they think of you. Any self respecting business would have reached out to me.

Yup i am a fan. Usually come here in the morning and there is no line ups and there are lots of places to sit. Sucks going to JJ bean and having to wait to buy a coffee and then not get a seat inside. I enjoy their coffee as well as their pastries. They have wifi too :) I am pretty sure this place was called Shambala before so these could be new owners.

This is my favorite café around this neighborhood: small but comfy, simple yet delicate. The people here are always nice. It’s the only coffeeshop that offers bulletproof coffee around here. The recent eggnog latte is also delicious.

On a block with half a dozen other coffee shops, its hard to notice this one. But after a few visits, I’m a fan. The drinks and menu are not as high-falutin’ as other yaletown cafes. This is more by our standard corner coffee shop. Drip coffee, tea, lattes, chai and a few other good options. A case full of semi-fresh sweet cookies, cakes and sandwiches. Their seasonal offering is egg nog latte. I watched her generously pour in actual egg nog(not flavoring or powder) and the latte turned out to be quite delicious. They have some magazines. Bar seating by the window and comfortable leather chairs if you want to sit in front of a low coffee table. The architecture is a pleasant surprise with curved walls and great lighting. Decent WiFi, however this place is not conducive to laptop work as the room is small and tables even smaller. Unless you like to literally put your laptop in your lap…
