Sandman Signature Toronto Airport Hotel

Stayed here twice in the past 6 months. It’s close to the airport and there is a free shuttle back and forth that is always running. I made use of that and it was quick and convenient. Everything else about the hotel is exactly what you’d expect for a business hotel near and airport. Rooms seemed new and were very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The one thing I really appreciated was the extra late check out they were able to give me. I arrived at the hotel at about 5 am and checkout is typically 11 am. They were able to extend it to 2 pm for me, which worked out perfectly as I had a meeting just after that. I was able to store my luggage in their lockup during my meeting, then got it and hopped on the shuttle to the airport as soon as it was over.
I’m not a huge Moxies fan, but it was convenient given that it is attached to the lobby.

This is a perfectly decent hotel. We’ve been here four nights so far, the room is nice and clean and perfectly acceptable. No bedbugs. The light switches are easily reachable from bed, which is handy. No complaints on the bathroom — hot water, no mildew, everything is fine. The A/​C is strong and the coffee maker works and there’s a very handy coffee stall where you can buy a cup to go for $ 2– though if they gave us to-​go cups in the room, we wouldn’t need to buy it to go. The workout room is a big plus — only one machine was out of order and the others were clean and high quality. It was easy to get some cardio done. The building looks fairly nice and the elevators are really fast. Passing jets make only a soft rumble in the background. Less appreciated is the almost worthless wireless internet, the way the A/​C constantly cycles (on to off in one minute) and I’m glad we don’t watch TV much because the 30″ unit across the room is pretty hard to see. The overstuffed polyester pillows are not good for belly sleepers. There are no handily located outlets on the nightstand for electronic chargers, and the curtains really don’t keep the room dark. At 7:30 AM in June, I can easily read a book with the shades fully drawn.
All told, maybe not fully four stars, but close enough.

Very convenient and close to airport, it’s modern but it has slowly deteriorated. It could be cleaner.
If you get a king size bed the pillows are too high, you get two long and high pillows. I’ve stayed at about 12 different king-​size rooms in different occasions and the pillow problem is the same. I’ve stayed in queen size rooms and those pillows are regular size and soft.
Many of the rooms have kitchenettes with separate living room.
Definitely checkout the attached bar and restaurant Moxie’s. Great food, with healthy choices, and great bar drink specials.

A bit far from Toronto proper but very clean and inexpensive.

Maybe my opinion of this place is tainted by our dreaaadful experience with
, but this place is average.
The Lobby is gorgeous! My friends and I arrived to the hotel after a 6hr road trip. We had reserved 2 rooms through
. We arrive to be told that the reservations were cancelled earlier, so we had to call expedia to sort it out, at midnight.
We then spent the next 3 hrs with 4 of us on the phone at the same time with the most INCOMPETENT expedia phone agents. The receptionists were at first kind of cold and didnt seem to care or want to help a group of 8 tired travelers. They did eventually start calling too and trying to help us with the dumbest and most untrustworthy people I’ve ever had to deal with. Expedia, don’t use Egyptian call centers!
Finally we get the rooms, i was in a suite with 3 people. 4 people in a suite with a closed room and sofabed in a mini-​living room. The sofabed is not the best. The closed windowless living room’s air is stuffy, the lighting in both rooms is cheap, greenish and/​or yellow but not soft. I recommend they work on that. The kitchenette flood lights were great!
The bathtub isn’t spotless, beige caulk in various spots, but im a stickler for bathrooms. So it’s hard to please me. The shower pressure is really strong, that was great, but a shock when i first turned it on. I felt like a prison inmate being hosed down! The bathroom door doesn’t lock. Weird.
The bedroom’s bed is sooo comfy! That I really commend them on. If you are traveling as 4 people, get a two-​bed room, not a suite with mini kitchen and sofabed.
They have a pool, i think it’s ugly and small and gross. The gym is nice and lounge areas are awesome.
Overall this is a nice hotel, for sure. I like the little tea and coffee available in the room, they had some dish soap and a few dishes. There are drawers for storage and a TV in each room, if you care for such things. Im just saying that as the person who slept in the living room, it was kind of clostrophobe-​inducing, stuffy and didn’t come with nice pillows and covers like the bed did. The blanket (yellow foam?) actually looks like something you’d wrap a burn victim in.

This hotel is great and very convenient to Toronto Airport (yyz). Also the rooms are very nice and spacious. Some rooms even feature a washer and dryer in your room, which is perfect to clean up your clothes before your flight back home. The rooms are nicely decorated and mine have always featured a bedroom, living room, as well as a kitchenette. I have no complaints about the Sandman.

The rooms are awesome but the walk in shower not so good floods whole bathroom not very safe the restaurants are great they are delightful some of the men guest service not as friendly as the women eh they should work on training. Love the business center printing fast computer the beds r really comfy the curtains really shut out the lights the water for showers and such are not harsh very nice :)

Warning! This is a place to party but not to sleep! This used to be one of my favorite hotels. But lately it seems to be more and more like a frathouse, filled with ill-​mannered drunks and cigarette smoke. Dear Sandman management, if you can’t control or weed out your rowdies you are going to lose your business clientele.

I have stayed at many Sandman locations (thanks work for having an account) and this was my favorite. The check in was with ease and a lot of friendliness and eager helpfulness.
The room was pretty awesome. It was a suite which I like as its more «condo» than «bedroom». After a long day I don’t want to spend my night eating supper on my bed in a bedroom. The room has a nice couch and table area, a pretty full kitchen with fridge, microwave, stove and coffee maker. There was a really nice working desk area with free Wi-​Fi (important!), and stationary supplies and a handy plug-​in.
The bathroom was pretty high end with a high power shower (awwww), lots of fluffy towels and a nice clean counter for me to mess up with my junk.
The bedroom was a separate room (score), with a huge king bed, lots of pillows and it was a corner room so the bed was surrounded by windows and cool views of the downtown on one side and the airport on the other (I like seeing the huge planes). Both areas had big LCD screens and the bedroom had a nice strong AC unit to cut the melting Toronto heat.
I did spend time in the hot tub which was quite relaxing at the end of a work day, and the pool was fair-​sized as well. I had room service once from the attached Moxies which was fast and decently fresh (what can you expect from room service really). The lobby has a coffee/​latte/​pastry bar for escaping in the AM to work and not having to worry about hitting coffee shops on the way. Über convenient.
Overall a great stay in a nice clean and relatively new feeling hotel. I would come back for sure.

This was a business trip but I could see this being a real nice stay for leisure as well.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, but I’ve been to the Sandman several times. It’s one classy joint!
On my first visit to the Sandman, the desk clerk (I believe his name was Munir) suggested that we upgrade to a nicer room w. a Jacuzzi and separate living area for only an extra 30 bucks (we had booked on
, and got a really great rate for the room we originally booked, so an extra 30 dollars was nothing). Once the man said Jacuzzi I was sold.
Upon entering the room I believe I actually squealed with delight! It was gorgeous! Very spacious, very clean, modern, and classy. The room I was upgraded to had a full kitchen — big fridge, stove, microwave, pots and pans, cooking utensils, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster! It also had a living room w. a flat screen TV and a huge window with a view of the golf course. The bathroom was beautiful, by far the cleanest hotel bathroom I have ever seen and most modern looking… it even had a full laundry machine and dryer!
Now…the best part by far HAD to be the bedroom. The afore mentioned Jacuzzi? Is actually situated IN the bedroom. It was WICKED. The bed itself was also lovely and very comfortable.
Another cool feature was that the floor was covered in a carpet that is meant to look like hardwood floor… hard to explain, you have to see this for yourself.
You can even order food to your room from the Moxie’s restaurant situated in the Hotel (I got breakfast… note – don’t get the French toast… it was entirely drenched in a VERY sweet strawberry syrup).
I would highly recommend it to those in need of somewhere to stay when having to stop over in Toronto as it is located very close to the airport. Also, it seemed that the shuttle service there was excellent as I saw several coming and going during our stay.

Very nice hotel! Modern chic décor. Hotel shuttle is a bit slow. Close to airport. Restaurant is a bit expensive. The rooms are clean & have microwaves & refrigerators. Staff is friendly & pleasant.
