We were supposed to be on a non-​stop flight from Los Angeles to Amsterdam, but mechanical failure had our plane turning back to Toronto. The airline bused our entire 747 to different hotels as quickly as they could. By the luck of the draw, we ended up at the Residence Inn.
Despite it being two in the morning, the front desk crew worked their tails off to facilitate everyone getting to their rooms. And these weren’t normal travelers: many of my plane-​mates were acting like freaking savages, screaming and shouting to voice their displeasure of being in Canada in the first place. Which was, in itself, pretty ridiculous, since obviously none of us wanted to be there but the rest of us did manage to act like adults.
Anyway, even when faced with screaming psychos, the front desk crew remained professional and friendly, doing their absolute best to work out any issues.
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy. Everything was clean. And given that we hadn’t eaten in forever, the lobby snack area was great.
All in all, the service was good, the rooms were clean and comfy, and based on what the internet is telling me, the price here isn’t bad either. Totally worth a visit.

Convenient hotel, great location close to the airport.
Is an older building and the rooms are also older. But they do seem to have been renovated fairly recently. My room was clean, bright and had no odors. Love the fact that it is a 100% non-​smoking hotel (and Marriott is great about enforcing this rule!!!)
Large one bedroom suite with a fully equipped kitchen with full size appliances.
Plentful parking, two TVs in your room, free wired Internet, a laundry facility on every floor for long term stays, free full breakfast plus a manager’s reception on Mondays through Thursdays… this is quite a good choice for a business hotel, especially if you need to be close to the airport area.
Good restaurant choices in the area — most of them deliver food to the hotel.
Great staff — from check-​in to breakfast room to housekeeping. Excellent attitude and courteous, friendly behavior.
Solid choice. Definitely not the high end of the fancy scale but something to consider when budget’s important and you need a clean, safe and convenient place to stay.
