QQ lashes

Had went there because they had a deal on Craig list for eyelash extensions for $ 50 for first customer. Went there and they ended up charging me $ 60.00 plus tax
The next day the lashes started falling off. I called them and told them and they wanted to charge me another 40 for a refill even though I had just got them done the day before.
If looking to get lashes I’d suggest going elsewhere.

I have been getting eyelash extensions for about 2 years now and have tried several places all over the city. Because I recently moved, I had to find a new regular place, hence me trying this place. I will give a general categorized rating first, and then explain in further detail.

The salon is on the upper level of a loft-​style unit, with the downstairs selling asian beauty products. There are 2 narrow beds side to side. There are 2 lash therapists but I got the main one both times. The lash therapist speaks english well enough, but is fluent in cantonese and mandarin — the reason I know that? She would not stop talking casually and loudly with her co-​workers whether they are on the same floor or on the lower floor. There was no enclosure for the eyelash space and no divider or anything between you and the next client. When your eyes are closed for the whole time of your service your safety and comfort are really vulnerable to your therapist, and I was not comfortable the entire time of both the initial set and refill service I came here for, despite understanding most of what they were saying which was completely not work related. It was about their personal lives, other clients she encountered, etc. Also, the therapist knew I spoke cantonese because she had asked me previously in an attempt to make small talk. My eyelids typically stay put for 1.5−2.5hrs hours at other appointments, but were fluttering like crazy out of discomfort and nervousness with this therapist for the 1 – 1.5hrs she took for my lashes.
In terms of technique, I rated a 2.5 because she did not provide a variety of lengths, thicknesses or curls with my application. Everything was uniform, which adds an element of unnaturalness. The higher end places (yes, they charge more) offers this to ensure proper blending and to create the right textured look. Also, during my refill she caused me sharp intermittent pain while stripping the old lashes off. I usually never feel this with other therapists so I attribute this to technique.
She took less time than my other therapists, and there are reasons why. One is that she was using the same exact lash, so no need to pick and choose for style. Another reason is because for the refill, not all my lashes were filled, despite her advertising a full set. There were several healthy natural lashes that should have been refilled that she left untouched. Another reason is that there were several more lashes she should have stripped and re-​lashed that she just left. Because I like my lashes more dramatic, I ask for a longer and thicker lash. When they grow out, and if they are still glued on, they tend to sag downwards because it is weighing down on the follicle. It also causes the lashes to turn sideways so they are obvious. I expected her to remove the droopy ones and re-​attach them, which I clarified with her that she would do during this refill. I was heading somewhere afterwards and her first job was decent so I didn’t realize until I got home and looked — so many droopy lashes left! I absolutely hate how it looks and looks as if it was a half-​butt job.
She is a friendly enough person and obviously is comfortable with the job itself, but aside from the initial set where she spent more time and more effort, everything else was lacking. The reason for the 3.5 star for the first set was because a) it did come out completely full, and I liked how it looked, and b) the staying power of her eyelash glue is also superb, so even after 2 weeks, I had more lashes remaining than usual.
Her pricing is quite arbitrary. She advertises $ 69 for a full set. She tells you point blank before meeting that she only accepts cash. If you pay by card, she will tell you it’s a different, higher price. If you want lashes longer than 11 mm, you will have to pay extra ($ 10 – 20 more per set). You also have to pay tax on top of the price even if you are paying cash. The second time I went in, I asked for a receipt. She refused. First of all, how can you refuse to give a receipt for a client when they ask? Of course, the reason is because she doesn’t plan to include the income of her cash clients as many businesses do, but I asked her «how can you charge me tax and not give me a receipt?» She immediately lowered the price for my cash payment (not to mention, it wasn’t a before tax price, it was just a lower price). This is just ethically wrong.
Oh yeah, when I first went in for a consultation, I let her know what lash length, curl and thickness I usually get. She frowned and said «that’s what white and black girls usually like, us asians usually want more natural». So, you get a sense of what you’re dealing with here. Completely unprofessional. And her lashes are way thicker than what faux mink should be. They are pretty much synthetic lashes thickness.
