This place opened up a while ago, but I only had an opportunity to go in a few days ago.(Every time I walk by, it’s closed!) ha ha ha. Since I’ve recently developed a macaron obsession, I just had to try theirs. They were pretty good. I guess I went on a good day. My fave was the chocolate. I also tried a cotton candy flavoured one(cool flavour for a macaron), nutella and white chocolate. I didn’t have their cupcakes. The lady was really nice. She told me they get most of their business via custom orders, so the selection of made goods for walk-ins is a bit small. I love D&B down the street for their cupcakes, but I’m glad I had a chance to pop and try their sweets.

This stretch of Leslieville has some GREAT cupcake options(Desmond & Beatrice, Bobbette & Belle, Sweet Bliss) but I thought I should give them a whirl to fulfill my pregnancy cravings of cupcakes and to make sure I knew just who was best on Queen East. They only have mini-cupcakes, which is fine, but if you are looking for big ones don’t come here(I guess the name does suggest that). Anyways, I was VERY excited to bite into the chocolate coconut because it looked so lovely. I have to say, this might have been one of the worst cupcakes I have ever eaten. The buttercream icing had so flavor — just a bit from the coconut flakes and the chocolate cupcake was the same! The only reason I knew it was chocolate was because it was brown. I took a bite out of the rest of the three flavours and honestly — if this were a blind taste test — you couldn’t differentiate between flavours. With D&B down the block and their rich, dense flavourful cupcakes I am shocked this place has survived. And that it has a TV show? The service was good, it is cute in there and they have macarons and good looking coffee I didn’t try — so it gets a 2 star.

I asked Petite and Sweet to create a custom cupcake tray for a client. Not only were the cupcakes delicious, they even lent me a beautiful tray to present them on, and trusted me to return it. I really appreciated them going the extra mile. The baker came out to introduce himself and to ensure everything looked the way it should — and gave me a free cupcake which I thought was quite generous as I only ordered 12 for my client. I will definitely come to them again for future event needs!

I came across Petite & Sweet while exploring Leslieville and can now say I’m obsessed with their macarons! I tried a few different flavours but the caramelized white chocolate ones in particular were amazing! The service was super friendly and I liked that you could smell things baking as soon as you walked in. Definitely check Petite & Sweet out!
