Great little place for your bakery AND deli needs. I go there to buy some small loaves of bread as well as deli meat and cheese, great products. They sell Brandt deli meat which is just great, and I have nothing to say about the cheese. I can make my own little sandwich, or buy one of their own, simple, no fuss, no frills sandwiches or salads(pasta salad, tuna, egg sandwiches…). Their main attraction is also their daily Indian lunch combo, the butter chicken is really good and on occasion they make saag paneer which is also great. Very good little place and great prices, very caring independent owners who deserve the push.

Sometimes not being perfect is what makes you perfect. I like this place and the people that own it. Warm and friendly, the woman is very motherly and sometimes her son and husband man the cash register. All products are made on the premises and without preservatives and the flaxseed bread is made with only 5% white flour, my favorite. They also have curry and butter chicken for a hot frugal lunch and a complete deli counter with meats and sandwiches, most below $ 5.00. A weird mix really, but that is because over the years they have learned what the local market wants and they are catering to that market. And yes, it is true, they sell Christmas themed cookies all year long. Someone must be buying, Why not eh! I’m a regular here as are so many from the neighborhood. Secrete, a lot of the bread made here is supplied to other bakery/cafes and sold for double the price. Why not just buy it here and save! Shhh, don’t tell anyone :)

I love the coffee, muffins, and lemon bread here in the mornings. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have really great butter chicken as well in the hot plate section. The owners are always very friendly!

When I first moved into the area, this was the only bakery. Now, there are bakeries on every other block it seems in Riverside and Leslieville. Still, to this day, when I feel like a treat and I ask, should I pick up something for breakfast from the bakery? it is understood that I mean Broadview Bakery. From this, one can surmise that this place is a staple. Here’s what I recommend. My favourite is the pakoras! They are spicy goodness and I love the coriander seed in them. A close second is the spinach and feta cheese in phyllo, especially early in the morning when they are fresh out of the oven. Then there is the infamous special — croissants three for $ 1.25. Neighbours walk by carrying bags of three or six, so I’m not alone in the enjoyment of this bargain. Although they aren’t the best croissants in the world, if they are so hot that you need paper instead of a plastic bag, they are pretty damn satisfying. Finally, their Montréal bagels are a safe bet. It is very convenient too that they have a wide variety of deli meats and cheeses all at really reasonable prices. Yes, this may not be the fanciest bakery in town, but I enjoy supporting this family run business.

A great bakery for all of your needs. It is run by what seems to be a Wife and Husband team. They make all sorts of goods. Bread, buns, muffins pastries, cookies. They also have a deli counter and can make custom sandwiches. The highlight of this place however are the lunch specials. The woman who runs this place is Indian and she makes some pretty good curries at lunch time. You can come here and get some kick ass french bread,. chick peas and butter chicken/curried chicken for $ 7.
