Hands down the best customer service I have ever received from an optical store. The entire staff was polite, energetic, and super friendly. Sheena was great and helped me work out the best options for frames/​lenses and price.
I also had an eye exam with Dr. Hughes who was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly as well. Exam was also only $ 75 which was about the lowest I’ve found in the city.
Without doubt I’ll be returning here in the future.

It’s my first time getting a pair of reading glasses and for first timers I don’t have any idea about it and even the eye exam. Dr. Hughes was very informative and very friendly, the stuffs are very helpful too on chosing the frame unlike other optical services they make me feel like they’re rushing me to pick a frame and they’re not very helpful.
Here in optical thirty 8 they want you to take your time to pick your frames and suggest what kind of frames will look better on you.
Price is fair they have 100 bucks off if you are getting a frame with eye exam (75 bucks) which is the best deal i found upon searching opticals in toronto.
I would definitely recomend this to my family and friend over all its the best first time experience for me.

Dave was helping me select frames and it was a very enjoyable experience. They have a great selection and the prices are also aweaome. He offered me a beverage while I shop around for frames. He is very knowledgeable and he listens to my needs. I was so impressed by the service that I referred one of my girlfriends and she was also very happy with the amazing service. This is my go to place and I highly recommend!!!

This place is by far my favourite optical place in the city.
I’ve never had anything short than exceptional service. The moment you walk in they make sure you are looked after. Their glasses are quality glasses and they always make sure you are getting the best deal.
I cannot express how amazing these guys are and they have the best brands too.

At the end of the appointment and purchase, I got free trials of two brands of daily contacts. I’m considering switching my contact lens brand, so if I enjoy these, I’ll be back here to order my contacts :)
I was initially brought here from the Groupon. The frames are pricey, but after the coupon and insurance, they definitely become a more affordable price.

I don’t really get this place. It looks like they have lots of choices, but if you really look closely they are kind of all the same, if you know what I mean? Just different versions of the same thing. The frames here also looked and felt cheap to me, very poorly fabricated. They are easy on the budget, so that’s a plus. But all this shiny plastic just isn’t my thing. And as for the service, well, the little employee man who followed me around throughout the entire store as I browsed — right behind me, not even at a distance! — he didn’t help the experience. If I were really broke, I might appreciate this place, and it makes me feel lucky to have options where I won’t be followed around.

I don’t think I’ve ever wrote a review but had such amazing service today that I had to. I spent hours trying on reasonably priced designer and in house frames. Staff were so friendly, helpful and PATIENT! They did everything they could to make sure I left happy and within my budget. Was so happy to get honest opinions and great advice.

I have been wearing glasses for more than 20 years and have had my fair share of glasses from different optometrists. I have never been happy with my glasses or the experience of buying them.
A groupon took me to Optical thirty8 and man, am I glad I found this place. Staff is super friendly and I actually felt like they care. They helped me find my first pair of glasses that I actually love. The no charge nose pad replacement and balance is a bonus. You are in and out in a jiffy and your glasses feel brand new again.
Anyone who has not had a pleasant experience with an optometrist needs to, no, owes it to themselves to visit this place. You won’t regret it.

I went here two days ago and I was so happy that I came here. I really needed a short-​notice eye exam because I lacked both contacts and glasses. Basically, I couldn’t see that day and could not contact my Optometrist because she moved without telling me and took the records with her. Optical Thirty 8 was more than accommodating. They took me on such short notice and the service was amazing.
Here are the key things I want to address:
1. Norma, who answered the phone, was super nice. She gave me water while I waited.
2. My doctor (Dr. Hughes) was super thorough. I find it hard to believe the other reviews stating that eye exams here are not thorough. There was no rush and he even double checked to make sure he was not overcorrecting.
3. After the exam, Brandon helped me choose glasses. He was very patient and friendly. He also ordered the contacts that I needed and gave me a trial pair. He was great. Charmaine was also very friendly and accommodating.
4. The atmosphere is super chill and they have a good selection of glasses.
Overall, experience was fantastic. This is the best optical I have ever been to and I cant wait to go back.

This place is fantastic. They are inviting and greet you from the moment you walk into the door. The only reason I went to this particular place for my new glasses was because I had a Groupon coupon which was expiring soon.
I called ahead to check if I needed an appointment and they said to come down anytime.
I did just that.
As you walk in you notice the very wide variety of choices displayed nicely in cases all over the store and walls.
Narma greeted me as I walked in and asked me to take a seat to discuss my needs.
I had two prescriptions, one for nearsightedness and another for computer glasses. She took the time to check my current glasses with the prescription to help me decide if I needed to fill both prescriptions. Thankfully I only needed the computer glasses.
With expertise she noted the shape of my face and made some suggestions as to shape and color of frames. I tried on several different and styles but kept going back to the first pair I tried on. It was great to see the variety of choice to make a good decision.
The glasses took exactly the amount of time they noted for pick up and was called to be notified they were available for pick up.
The ease of pick up was great. Everything was ready, they made adjustments for comfort as well as giving me a gift bag with cleaner, took kit and 2 little panda danglers for my phone.
All in all a very enjoyable experience and will go back when it’s time to fill my other prescription.

I just wanted to highly recommend this incredibly friendly and well-​priced optical shop. First off, I have to say the staff go out of their way to be cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. They’re also pretty reasonable, and it’s not the typical upsell experience that feels more like a car dealership. All of their lenses include all the standard coatings without extra charge.
Frames range widely in price from house-​brand to name-brand…lots of specials on their website. I purchased Rayban single-​vision glasses and with the addition of a $ 15 Groupon for $ 150 off, I managed to get them for about $ 220 frames, lenses, coatings, etc. It was actually cheaper than I could get the same pair for online. I could have come in closer to the $ 150 mark for house-​brand glasses all in.
Make sure you’re aware of deals. In addition to the Groupon deal, they had a deal for $ 100 off if you had an eye exam, and some flat rate packages for house frames. Not combinable of course.
Eye exams are $ 75. That wasn’t my favorite part as it felt rather rushed and a bit factory-​like. One tip: look at glasses before having your eyes dilated. I was pretty blind after that, so had to make another trip to finalize my selection.
Free contact lens fitting, although they didn’t really do any fitting… just gave me a trial pair. Their prices are a bit higher than what I can find online, so I may hold off on buying contacts through them.
Overall, one of the best eyeglass shopping experiences I’ve had in terms of both service and value.

Went in again to pick up my glasses, and inquired about their contact lenses. They offered me a trial pair and also gave me a travel sized contact lens solution along with it. AWESOME.

This place is amazing. In a pinch, they were able to replace my lenses in an emergency. Let it be known that they kept the store open past closing to finish my lenses and put them in the same day. A plus is that they also are priced very reasonably (I would know since I checked everyone in the area prior).
The store is beautiful and comes with very kind staff. Everyone communicates super well. They also offered me water.
I highly recommend this place and will come back.

Have to agree with Grainne — was simple and easy. I came in, and was immediately asked if I needed help. I said no, and they backed off … way too many salespeople just hover around you, making things uncomfortable.
Ended up getting some sunglasses here. Good price, great customer service.

As I walked in to collect my glasses on Saturday, I tried to figure out whether they were worth 4 or 5 stars. I was going to try to be strict and hard nosed and give 4; but they were just so incredibly pleasant again that I’m stuck with 5 stars and looking very soft!
My «good» glasses lost a screw, and after dropping it in an attempt to repair them and spending an hour crawling around the floor, I decided that I was probably due a new pair anyway. It’s been too long-​4 years!-since my last eye exam so that needed to be done too. I emailed a few places to ask about rates and appointments but they either didn’t answer or were charging $ 120+ for an eye exam. Things weren’t looking good. Then I spotted a Groupon for Optical Thirty 8 offering $ 150 off the price of frames for $ 19. Sounded tempting.
From the very first contact, I was impressed. I submitted a query about exams and pricing via the contact form and got a response in under 24hrs. GiGi answered all my stupid questions and I booked my eye exam for the following Sunday and bought my Groupon. Exams are $ 75 but you can manage to get a free exam if you’re spending over $ 198 (at the moment). They called to confirm ahead of time and suggested that I could come in early to look in case my pupils were dilated afterwards!
I arrived just 5 minutes before to a warm welcome. I filled out a medical intake form and they took my old broken glasses to figure out the old prescription. Then it was time for the optometrist. I had Shala Lakhani who was absolutely lovely, knowledgeable and super efficient. Once I’d tried to figure out whether option 1 or 2 was better for each lens (I never know!), it was off to choose new frames.
I generally hate choosing frames. It seems so daunting and I get confused. I also get sick of looking at my face after trying on a few pairs. Luckily, Élan was a joy and super patient. Between the two of us, we picked a pair that I really like and it wasn’t too astronomically expensive after the Groupon. Lenses with the standard coatings (pretty much everything) were $ 88. While I’d been in my exam they’d fixed my old glasses so I trotted off with them and some free cleaning spray and wipes. Hurrah!
My glasses were ready the next weekend and they made a courtesy call to confirm that. Élan remembered me when I walked in and somebody also presented me with a cup of tea the minute I sat down. The fit was perfect but they said to pop back for any adjustments or repairs and I got even more cleaning spray and wipes. Rubbing them on your sweater is not a good thing, apparently. Who knew?
So couldn’t really give them less than 5. Every single person was incredibly pleasant, they gave me tea, the exams aren’t a rip off and they have some lovely glasses. 5 stars it is.
