Went for the bakery, while clean it lost 2 stars, for the fact the lady behind the counter was on the phone, engaged in a personal conversation and took her time before attending to the waiting customers. But over all this metro location has friendly staff who are ready and willing to help.

This review is solely for their Tuesday evening pizza deal. For $ 7.99 you get a huge and fresh stoned-baked pepperoni pizza with a lovely crust. This is seriously good eats people — for a quick family weekday meal. Very surprising for grocery store! You can’t beat this deal.(I don’t normally shop at Metro as their prices are outrageous.) Get the pizza!

Check the best before dates of anything you buy from here … I took a whole bunch of things into my cart and when checking the dates over 80% of goods were either expired or only have a few days before expiration. Everything there is overpriced and not fresh. The service there is poor really the customer service sucks and there’s only one or two people on cash when the line up is long … I see them shutting down soon like their friend target. Definitely not my place to shop ever again

Not my favourite place to go. If I am shopping at 5 in the morning I will go here(before work). The one and only thing I feel that is not OVER priced is the subs that they have. I will usually get 4 small sub/sandwiches for $ 7.00! Overall I try to avoid metro as the food quality is not that great and the prices are not that great either. Overall I will only go there if there is no other option!

Metro supermarket is good at being cleaner than some competitors, having a large selection, and being open 24 hours. Beyond that, it is a bit expensive on some things, and a bit too expensive on others. The service is also unremarkable.

Came here for the first time and am so impressed w this metro as more recently we had to frequent the metro on college(poorly stocked produce and feels dirty). It’s bright, very well stocked, huge selection, and good prices. Its a larger metro, so the aisles are long and well organized with goodies. The produce was fresh as far as I could tell. Also They have a pharmacy section, a flower section, toiletries, and a gift card section. It’s also open 24 hrs. I’m happy to have this in my ‘hood.

Pretty good place with excellent selection of items and brands. But pricy. Avoid if you are just looking to buy cheap groceries.

Metro’s stores are spiffy, clean and have some trendy food products, but I must say I really don’t like this chain. I’d rather shop at Loblaws or its No Frills stores. Prices are generally very high here unless an item is on sale. They are mostly higher than regular Loblaws stores(it would not be fair to compare to No Frills). I think the difference is that Metro is open 24 hours and Loblaws is not, which I am sure adds considerably to their cost. The other problems I have with Metro is that I don’t care for their bakery section, produce is way, way to pricey, and while they have a lot of nice items, they were missing something fairly commonplace(not out of stock, but missing) when I was there last. I have also found the checkout at Metro to be somewhat inefficient.

As supermarkets go, this one isn’t bad. It’s always clean, and if a product is missing from their shelf, their employees are willing to go into the back to see if they have more stock. Some items are priced well, others are just too much(sometimes even a dollar more expensive than elsewhere.) When it had changed from Dominion to Metro, they also changed the layout around to a point where it took me more than half an hour to find one product. I’m usually pretty good at sourcing out the items I need, so I would have to say that the layout isn’t user friendly when you shop there for the first time. They do have a nice assortment of gluten free foods; including my favourite brand of pasta, all of which are well priced. The one interesting bit, is that unlike Dominion, Metro has spread their gluten free products all over the store. With Dominion, I had to go to only one aisle to find everything bunched together(a number of Loblaws do this as well); but with Metro, I’ll find the box of waffles with regular waffles, and the pasta with all the other pastas. It’s a nice statement to have these specialised products placed among the«regulars». What I do miss is the Freshness Guarantee that Dominion had. If you found a product that had an expiry date well past, you were able to bring that product up the customer service counter and they would give you the same product for free. Seeing as my husband and I usually found one or two expired items during our bi-weekly trips to Dominion, it was a nice way to save a bit of change(about $ 5 per trip). Today, you still find the same expired products, but sadly Metro doesn’t have the same guarantee in place…
