I’m hesitant to review Grace’s because it’s such a hidden gem and I really don’t want too many people finding out about it. Honestly, this place is the best mom and pop butcher around. The prices are so reasonable and the quality of the meat is amazing. A good amount of other grocery staples(although these are not so reasonably priced). Nice jarred sauces and unique pasta, as well as imported spices and oils. Interesting cuts and meats, usually a sale or two. Honestly, the best butcher shop in Toronto in my opinion. The chicken breasts are even cheaper than costco!

Second on my list of recommended Italian grocers in the area for pasta, but first for meats(it is a meat shop!) as well as for fun and different products. What am I talking about when I say unique? Have you ever tried pizza bagels? Even if you have, the ones they have here will put those to shame. I’m not sure why they call them bagels, as they’re closer to a flat bread, but they are flavorful and moist and unlike anything I’ve tasted in this genre of food. The sauce is sweet but salty, and there is just enough cheese before it smothers it. A bag of six is $ 5 or $ 6, but on my first visit they gave me a bag for free as they were just about to close and they get rid of fresh items that won’t keep at the end of the each day. Amongst those items are also some of the best bagels I’ve ever had(which I think are normally $ 0.75, totally affordable) and Italian bread. I bought some medium spice Italian sausages which they make in store and they were awesome. I also picked up some Regiano Parmigiano cheese, a huge block for $ 12 as well as a few bags of pasta. While the selection may not be on par for pasta as Festival and some other stores in the area, it’s very good considering the size of this store. If they put all the pasta in one place it is still a good selection. The only letdown I had was a vodka sauce I bought there. It was $ 10 and I wasn’t that impressed, but taste is a relative thing so I don’t belie the recommendation. The meat selection is very good and fresh, and they are very helpful in assisting you to find what you need. Worth the trip

This place is a gem. The best service I’ve had at a butcher anywhere, I wish I lived closer.

This place is amazing. The people are so friendly and helpful. The meats are fantastic. As are the prepared meats, sauces and lunch meats. I just had lunch from there with the wheatberry salad with colesaw, potatoes and the cooked brisket on an onion bun. It was so good right after I finished I had to write this review. I live on Grace so I think this store might end up being the only store I eat at for the rest of my life… unless I get scurvy in which case I will go the chinese grocer the next block over which is also awesome and very cheap. But getting back to Grace Meats, let me just say I highly recommend it.

Friendly service, knowledgeable and helpful staff, sterling products, melt in your mouth kickass dry aged striploin and fresh tasting pestos and bread. The sundries tomato pesto is amazingly flavourful and I used it as a topping on salmon. Yes this is a small place but packed with so much stuff that just make your mouth water. Come here for the dry-aged New York strip. It is soooo worth it and will not break the bank. I have been searching for the meat I had in Spain and this place comes super close. They are vacuum sealed so you could buy in bulk and freeze it. I am dreaming up of other foods to buy here. So yummy!

I feel like posting here is giving away a huge secret for prepared foods in the Little Italy neighbourhood. Since my wife and I had a baby, I feel like we do take out here almost every day. The chicken is great, the ribs are to die for and the brisket, oh my the brisket! It is probably better than my bubbie’s. We have had huge family dinners at our house and the reviews about the brisket from around the table are amazing. Lets just keep this one between us… okay?

Even when I didn’t live in the neighborhood I heard so much praise from people all over about Grace Meats. If you need a quick lunch or dinner fix, they cook turkey breast and whole chickens on site. They have a small deli case with salads and fresh artisan breads and bagels. As well as 50 different kinds of olive oil and vinegars among other shelf items such as pasta. I’ve been to the ‘Rolls Royce” of butchers on Church street a few times and even though I can get 3 different types of goose, what pushes Grace Meats over the top is Customer Service. The care and attention to your product from the butchering boys in back is *Exceptional* delivered with a bit of ‘old world’ charm by «Rudy» and the other butchers. Grace Meats wants your meat or bird experience to be perfect. They ask YOU questions to get your order just right. The price point is better than competing butchers in the same«best meats» category. Their turkey is *phenomenal*. One of my favorite things to order is a skinless butterfly turkey breast. I get nothing but raves about the flavor and the juiciness. And their pork is delicious. Please make Grace Meats your next stop for Thanksgiving, Xmas or any dinner party or BBQ. You’ll be pleased you did…
