Get Spun

Yeeesssss. Get in shape the best way with these energizing Spin classes! The music is so great here, and the comraderie is amazing

I just took my 12^th spin class here and I have to say I really enjoy it! I’ve tried a few instructors (Magz, Christie, and Matt) and I have to say Matt’s classes are the reason I keep on coming back. I love how he builds you up slowly until at the end you are just so motivated to climb that last hill with lots of tension and race to the finish. I always go in doing more than I expected of myself. I found Magz classes more mellow, and Christie’s class more of a intense jolt (rather than a gradual build-​up like Matt’s). In the one or two classes I took, she did a lot of going up and down on the bike.
As for the gym itself, it’s small but nicely spaced. They have towels for you, and also hand out lemon-​scented wet towels at the end of the class, which is a great touch. And they don’t even ask you to clean your bike at the end — they take care of it all, which is great, so you can jet right after class. I also really like their online reservation system — it makes it really easy to plan my exercise schedule. The bikes are also in good condition.
The change room has 2 showers and toilets, and I’ve never found them to be too crowded, though I have to admit I’ve never used the showers, so I can’t comment on that.
For me the combination of great location, good timing for classes (they have cycling classes at 5:30pm and 6:45pm), awesome instructor, and convenient online reservation system makes this my go-​to spin gym! I’ve been to spin classes before at gyms, but never really liked it until I came to Get Spun. It’s well worth a try, especially if you can nab some good group deals (e.g. $ 15 for 5 classes — an absolute steal for this great spin gym!)

As a «beginner» spinner (yes, a rhyme!), I came to Get Spun after purchasing a 5 pack through Deal Find.
I was immediately intimidated on my first visit, as the instructor seemed to know everyone and I stuck out as I obviously had no clue what I was doing. Fortunately she noticed immediately, came and adjusted my bike, and gave me some wise words «don’t try to keep up, it’s your first time — try and get through it». Like that made me feel better!
They have cubbies for your stuff and coat rooms in the back, as well as change rooms. Everything was quite clean and well organized, which was a big plus for me — no chance of me getting lost in the studio (ok that might be impossible, it’s a big room).
I wasn’t a huge fan of the music selection but the class ended up being pretty good — there were about 20 bikes, and every one was full — she’s obviously a popular instructor. I just about died of happiness when she brought around a tray of cool damp towels after the class finished — it was such a great surprise as I had definitely worked hard!
The biggest issue I have with this place is the cost of single class passes. They’re $ 20! I wanted to bring a friend one weekend, but they couldn’t commit to a 5 or 10 pack as it was their first time. $ 20 is absolutely ridiculous for a 45 minute work out — we went uptown to a private golf club instead, and my pass was only $ 5. For unlimited time.
Please keep in mind that I don’t have a lot to compare to when it comes to spin studios — but the customer service was good and they do have quite a few class times on their online schedule, so it seems pretty good to me!

GetSpun is a great place for either beginner or seasoned spinners. The classes are just the right size, with bikes spaced nicely — no endless rows of bikes jammed together or tight quarters. The studio is clean, vibrant, and welcoming. Matt is the best instructor in the city; regardless of experience or fitness level, he motivates the entire class with music and great energy. Take one of Matt’s Thursday evening or Sunday morning endurance classes and you’ll be hooked.

I am trying to get back into a healthier lifestyle and since the gym is not an option for me, I decided to give Spinning a try. Get Spun doesn’t have the intimidating atmosphere that most spin places do. I’m not into blasting music until the windows shake. not my thing… Get Spun has a great roster of instructors who bring their own playlist with them. They chose the appropriate music (at an appropriate level) to really get you motivated… They are extremely helpful and they are always encouraging everyone in the class to try hard.
I really like this place because no matter your physical level, you won’t be discouraged by the people who surround you.
They have other pretty incredible classes as well. Gravity, Pilates etc.
The prices are reasonable and the space is great. Definitely worth checking out.
