History

Established in 2011.

Dr. Dharmine Ehamparam has been practicing optometry since 2008 when she graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo. She opened her own practice in Scarborough in 2011.

Business Owner

Dr. Dharmine Ehamparam, graduated from the University of Waterloo’s reputed optometry program in 2008 with honours. She has gained invaluable experience training with local retinal specialists in the diagnosis and management of retinal diseases (diseases affecting the back of the eye). With the rates of diabetes and obesity growing at epidemic proportions, she has a special interest in the early detection and treatment of diabetic retinopathy — a condition that left untreated can lead to permanent vision loss and blindness.

Affectionately known as, Dr. Dharmine, she also strongly advocates the importance of early eye examination in children. She has had much experience in the detection and management of amblyopia in children (also known as «lazy eye»). Among other problems, a simple eye exam done early in a child’s life can catch and even reverse some types of vision loss.
