Dog Care Wonderland

I had my cat since he was 2 months old, he’s three years old now. He has always been nice an gentle, even though he dislike showers he didn’t put up too much of a fight. I was recommended by a friend to this yonge/​finch pet grooming store. Man that was the biggest mistake I made for my munchkin, I am regretting this decision to no end!
He was doing pretty well before we went to the store, but we later discovered injuries in his claws and ears at home. Four of his claws are cut too deep to the pink oval, resulted bleeding, his ear was also bleeding from scratches. We took him to the vet, even though the vet can’t tell what cause the injuries for sure, he gave him a three week prescription drug for infection prevention, a shot and suggested us to change cat litters so they don’t clog his wound.
I questioned the store with photos of his wound. They simply said the cat was too unoccupied, aggressive, those injuries were caused by his own struggles. They were not once mentioned when I picked him up from the store. They also commented that my cat was moving too much, and they won’t take him in again due to his negative «attitudes». I actually felt bad for them and tip them $ 25! Keep in mind that, it should be the groomer’s judgement call of whether the cat is suitable for grooming or not (and if not, they should returned the cat to his owner without touching him), instead of force things on my cat, and later played the blame game.
If I knew this is the treatment my baby was getting, I would have never send him to that store. Please observe your cats’ behaviors outside of your home… maybe they can’t be handled by strangers. I truly regret my decision today, and my heart cries whenever I saw him wobbling at home.

Don’t these people understand there is a ban on the sale of puppies and kittens in ALL Pet Stores. Guess they didn’t get the memo. I definitely won’t be going there and giving them my business. It won’t be long before they are fined and possibly shut down for breaking the law!

This shop ILLEGALLY sells animals, as this is where my neighbour’s dog came from. There is a ban in Toronto on any shop selling dogs and cats. Even if the owners are legitimate registered breeders, they’re still not supposed to sell the animals out of the store. I have confirmed it myself that they sell puppies.
They also have a location on Steeles just west of Midland, which is the place my neighbour’s poodle was purchased from.

My husband and I walked into this place, along with our tiny adorable Pomeranian, ready to buy. The 2 people behind the counter never even greeted us and one was wearing a hospital mask. The complete lack of any type of service or acknowledgment was enough to send me right back out the door never to return, but to top it off, they were selling dogs in there as well, which I am totally against, as most of the time these animals in pet stores come from puppy mills. Will never step foot in there again, despite the fact that I live nearby and it would have been nice to have a convenient place to take my Pom to for grooming and /​or supplies.

Dog Care Wonderland is a Chinese owned franchise of dog services and supplies in the Toronto area.
If you are against Pet shops selling live stocks like dogs and cats. you will not be happy shopping here. Since on the right side of the stores, you will be seeing kennels displaying a few puppies for sale.
The decoration here is really basic. like they just have some non painted wooden shelf and then set it up and stock it with some merchanise and then ready for business…
Go somewhere else if you want better selections and more ethic shopping experiences!
