Agi’s Tanning and Spray Tan Salon

Facility and products aside. More than half the times I’ve come in for drop in appointments (they do not allow bookings) I have had to wait over an hour (or close to it) because the staff member was not there to open on time. Hours of operation begin at noon on weekdays and yet I have had to wait until at least 1 on numerous occasions.

I’m not usually one to put the T in GTL, but when I do I go to Agi’s. Agi’s is an incredibly clean and friendly tanning salon conveniently located on Bloor between Bathurst and Spadina.
What’s great about Agi’s is they really do have your best interests at heart. They ask a lot of questions about your sensitivity to the sun, past exposure and future plans in an effort to ensure you only tan for as long as needed. I’m pretty fair and I appreciate how they look after me. I’ve probably been less than 15 times but I’ve never once burned. Briefly while in university I took the GTL more seriously, but the salon I went to then was not nearly as health conscious as Agi’s. My experience was so sub par I avoided tanning salons until last year in prep for vacation. Agi’s restored my faith.
Tanning prices seem on par with other salons but they can be generous if you buy a package. The standup beds are beautiful, warm and dare I say relaxing? Each room is equipped with its own radio, fresh towels and a zen vibe. It can get busy during afternoons though and on occasion I have had to wait a while for a bed. Sometimes I also find it rather hot in the main area, but at least it smells like coconut!
I totally recommend Agi’s if you’re looking to bring a little extra sunshine into your life.

I’ve been to several tanning salons in Toronto, but this one is by far my fave! I moved to the annex in the fall and needed to find a nearby place to get my tan on. I googled tanning salons in the area and came across Agi’s hair & tanning. The fact that it is a hair salon AND tanning salon had me assume that it isn’t the best place to get a tan… But boy was I mistaken!
To start, it’s a family run business and they are the sweetest people ever! So friendly, always happy, genuinely nice people! They make you feel more than welcome and are actually very knowledgeable about what they’re selling. They went the extra mile to ensure that I had a safe tanning experience. Actually, more so than places that only specialize in tanning.
Ok, so after the correct bed was assigned I went to the room (I did a basic standup to start) The décor is soooooo cute! Very tropical, nicely decorated and CLEAN! Now, the bed itself… I was astonished! The basic standup in this place looked like a premium bed I used at my previous tanning salon. My tan felt amazing, so after I finished I knew this was the place for me.
I purchased a month unlimited on the basic bed, initially, for $ 60. Decent price. I told the lady that I have psoriasis and a bed with a higher UVB light really helps. So, for $ 5 more I upgraded to a more powerful bed. Omg! This bed is effing amazing!!! After a few visits my friends were asking where I went on vacation. They were floored when I told them that it was from a tanning salon. My skin turned a nice dark brown and not that orange colour you see on some tanorexics.
Ok… Gushed about this place enough, but if you’re in need of a tanning salon in the annex this is the place! For real. My only advice is don’t go if you are in a hurry. There’s been a couple times when I tried to squeeze in a tan before work and was late. The front desk sweet heart loves to chat… Yet so do I, so it was well worth it. I don’t know her name, buy she is so so SO sweet and I’ve found myself chatting for nearly ½ an hour with her.
