I order from here all the time since I live in the high rise above it. The service is always efficient and friendly. I like small rolls and they always accommodate me. Avacado rolls all day errday.

Awesome food, love it all especially the awesome roll! Just be sure to check your pick up orders, I have had 4 – 5 wrong orders in the past 2 months.

Not sure if this should be called sushi negative instead, ok, j/k, not that bad. thought with new owners, would be better too but same as before; guess when your main market is students, it’s really more to fill a sushi itch. Ordered the dragon roll, and while taste was ok, it fell apart as soon as you picked it up lol. Loses a star b/c it’s absolutely the worst parking design by Surrey’s city planners, so no fault of the resto; you can only park on the Drive, and even that, you have to walk 30 feet still, imagine when it rains or in this weather. luckily last week wasn’t too bad. and 108th St., no stopping allowed. so for me, it’s an easy ‘no repeat’.

I was so excited when this place first opened up. It is just across the street from where I live and I LOVE sushi. At first I was very happy with the quality and the speed at which the orders were prepared, but alas, it is not the same now. I can understand that with business going up the speed will not be as good, however where you lose me as customer is with the quality. it all started with an order or rolls that were warm. Yuk! And the next few orders after that were not that great either. The rolls fall apart, the sashimi is not cold enough to melt on my tongue and the price is the same as better sushi places. Oh, and they are closed on Sundays! Big NONO for me. However, I will say that if I don’t want drive anywhere else, I will still buy your sushi, and your lunch bento boxes are great, but you really need to do something about all that packaging!

This place is centrally located right across from Gateway Skytrain station. Lots of side street parking and food We ordered the Baked Chicken Roll, the Green Dragon, Chopped Scallop Roll, the Plus Roll and Salmon Sashimi. The rolls were soggy even though they were made to order. The rice to ingredients ratio is rather disappointing and I found myself stuffed just from the rice itself. I think the price is alright, though Samurai Sushi is more bang for your buck. There are better sushi places in the Surrey area than this. Not coming back unless I happen to get super duper hungry near Gateway.

Have gotten a handful more take-out orders since my initial review. The food style/flavouring is similar to the myriad of other Korean-run Japanese restaurants. Some items are misses and preparation can be slack, but 3 stars are warranted given the convenience and smooth take-out experiences. A stand-out item I really enjoy is the Caterpillar Roll. Very creative and tastes great with the eel. There are standbys I order at Japanese restaurants and unfortunately, Sushi Plus doesn’t measure up against the competition: — Spicy Salmon/Tuna Sashimi: spicy sauce is typical of the sweet spicy Korean variety, but it’s too watery making the overall dish very soggy. One time the sashimi was very poorly cut where the chewy film of the skin is still attached. — Alaska Roll: no tangy sauce. Ok, but just weird without the sauce. — Negitoro Roll: made with a whole piece of toro instead of chopped. No green onion flavour. Disappointing rendition. Also for some reason, their tuna(raw and cooked) never taste quite right to me. Maybe they don’t have enough turnaround to always have fresh tuna. But nonetheless, no stomach issues though, just tastes off. So yeah, not the greatest food, but decent enough. I don’t think you can go terribly wrong with any order. They advertise Ocean Wise — that’s a plus. Indeed a welcome addition of inexpensive Japanese in this neighbourhood.
