History

Established in 1992.

Established in 1992 by Dr. Alan R. Boyco, B.Sc., O.D. as a simple optometry practice Image Optometry has matured into a chain of optometry clinics. We currently operate 14 locations in British Columbia and we are focused on acquiring a number of locations in Alberta during the coming years. These locations operate as independent optometric corporate franchises that are owned solely by Doctors of Optometry. Our company is experiencing phenomenal growth and we are well on our way to accomplishing our objective of positioning Image Optometry to become the largest total eye care provider in Western Canada.

Dr. Boyco continues to be the driving force behind Image Optometry. He has been the Team Optometrist for the Vancouver Canucks (NHL), the Vancouver Giants (WHL), and the BC Lions (CFL) since 1994.

He was also the team Optometrist for the Vancouver Grizzlies (NBA).

Dr. Boyco continues to be the driving force behind Image Optometry. He has been the Team Optometrist for the Vancouver Canucks (NHL), the Vancouver Giants (WHL), and the BC Lions (CFL) since 1994.

He was also the team Optometrist for the Vancouver Grizzlies (NBA) while they were a Vancouver franchise from 1995 through 2000. During the 2006 2006 World Junior Championships (IIHF) hosted in Vancouver he was the Event Optometrist. Many other professional and amateur athletes seek out his practice and his particular brand of enthusiastic character.
