I’ve been to Baselines a few times now to hang out with our friend and his hockey team before/after their games at the neighboring sports complex. It is, in every word, a sports pub and it fills this role very well. At every angle there’s a game or two(or three) playing on the veritable army of TV’s hanging from the walls and ceilings. During our visit yesterday they were airing not only the NFL Pro Bowl but the NHL All-Star Game — not an easy feat(especially in a bar full of hockey-loving Canadians) but it was fun to watch both! They also have a decent selection of beers on tap, with a heavy emphasis on lighter options as is more common in this neck of the woods. There’s also the usual selection of mixed drinks and daily specials. Yesterday it was $ 6.75 double Caesars and 35-cent chicken wings(with a selection of yummy sauces to choose from). The service is fast and friendly. This is not a quiet, romantic, date-night kind of place. It’s loud(as in, bring some Tylenol if you’re there for a big sporting event). It can get crowded(which is kinda fun in a sports bar). And it’s not the easiest place to have a conversation if you(or your date) are easily distracted by giant TV’s. But as far as sports pubs go, they are doing it right!

If you come here for the beer, live sports on tv and friendly service, you won’t be disappointed. Surrounded by lots of tv screens tuned in to different live sports. Has a coin-operated pool table. Food is disappointing, though. They lose a star on that aspect.

I thought about giving 2 stars but the service is so bad. We had a large group and we got grief the whole time about it. Why are we getting such a hard time for bringing more people to spend money? Super un-accomodating and snarky. The food was ok. Its really loud with the game or fight on over the speaker system but it is a sports bar after all.

Excellent burgers, friendly staff, nice crowd. Weekends they serve breakfast. They have a pool table. There are a few other games here. Desert was amazing. It’s really a great joint. Everything I’ve had in the menu was delicious. Been here several times and plan on returning.

Where to start? I have been to this pub lots of times. Sometimes with a group other times on my own with wife or 1 or 2 couples. This time the service was absolutely horrible! They were understaffed but insisted that this was the staffing level for Saturdays. I had the special breakfast which was small, not prepared as requested. Even getting coffee & water was a hassle. The one saving grace was it was cheap — though when you consider what you received, not so much so. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go there again!

My brother and I went here for a plate of afternoon nachos, there were only six people in the place so we thought we’d get great service or so we thought. There were two waitresses working in there and it took forever for one of them to aknowledge that we we even there. The more younger looking waitress was serving the other table on hand and foot as they were ordering what seemed like the pub’s entire stock of beer!!! We thought that was the only way to get better service, order booze instead of coffee and iced tea. Who drinks that much at 11:30 am? The nachos came in a nice presentation but the cheese was cold and the middle of the pile was not melted, we were never asked how the food and was snubbed any kind of refill. Seems like this place caters to the people who have serous drinking problems and snub those who order soft drinks. I’ll be back alright, with a loud group of friends who are jerks that don’t tip, oh and the service was as cold as the nachos

i was very pleased with the food here(unbelievable $ 2.00 breakfast special) and to go watch the game — they were good enough to open early — great sports bar in my opinion. service is what it is, and as far as i am concerned the girls here work harder than i have ever seen. so if they deserve a break on not being so perfect with their food orders or timing… than so be it. cheers

I only go here for a few reasons: watch NFL, have their $ 1.99 breakfast on Sunday mornings and have their 25 cents wings… if you go for any other reason you will probably be slightly disappointed. They can have 4 different games showing at the same time and of course they have NFL ticket. If you come early enough you can usually get the game you want. The owner is a Cowboys fan so you can always catch a Dallas game if it’s on. The morning breakfast is two eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and a piece of toast. It’s really good for the price. But I think a drink needs to be ordered with it. Coffee is $ 2.50 so it’s better to go for a beer or caesar. 25 cent wings nights are wednesday and sunday. I only get the salt and pepper wings with a few sauces on the side. Standard pub fare at reasonable prices with lots of HDTV’s make for a good sports watching experience.
