We ate at Wendy’s/Tim Hortons for lunch after venturing out for some souvenir shopping in the Squamish area. I typically never give fast food restaurants more than 3 stars. And although I LOVE Wendy’s(I believe it to be one of the best fast food options around, regardless of the location) this Wendy’s rates a solid 3 stars as well — it didn’t necessarily impress, but it didn’t disappoint either. I guess I’m saying that it was just average(the burgers were ok, the salad was decent, and the fries and the chicken sandwiches were good). Actually, I wish we could give ½ stars because the service here was exceptional.

This is far and away the best Wendy’s I have ever tried. The burgers are juicy and everything is clean and seemingly well managed. I have been coming here for maybe 5 years and it is consistently far better than the downtown vancouver stores.

They are fast and friendly, just like their name sake… BUT…$ 8 something for a burg? Come on Canada, we can do much better than this! Kiddos chowed down chicken nuggets, I guess they were okay…

I’m a big fan of Wendy’s Chili. Ever since the fake finger found in Chili by some California lady who conspired with someone in Nevada to stick a finger from a cadaver into Wendy’s Chili and sew under false accusations, my wife and I have been chili fans! But while we like Wendy’s, we avoid specific drive thru’s and this one of those places. Not sure if it’s the weather in Squamish that destroys the fidelity on the intercom system, but parking is easy and ordering at the counter is great and less prone to error. Plus, I’ve asked them to chop onions(for burgers) and put that in my chili and they’ve done it for me at the counter. But not through the drive-thru. My kids love the chicken strips and the value sandwiches like the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers and the Frosties of course! And the price is good. I’ve always had friendly service and the lines are shorter on this side of the restaurant, since it’s connected with a Tim Horton’s under the same roof. Frosties AND donut holes in the same place. Oh my!

We had a quick stop here to pick up lunch on the way to Garibaldi. My boyfriend has a serious love of Wendy’s, so he ordered three double stacks and a Frosty, I got some fries, and our friend decided to get a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. We ended up with three Jr. Bacons, no double stacks, and the rest of our order. When we went back to get this fixed, there was no apology for screwing up our order. We were accommodating and said we’d just take an additional double stack and keep the three Jr. Bacons, and they had the gall to CHARGEUSFORIT. Seriously? It’s like two dollars. You mess up our order and then charge us to fix it? Worst customer service.
