I came to Aberdeen Mall to have tea with a girlfriend and we did some browsing in the mall. This was one of the stores that we visited. I am really surprised that there is an entire store dedicated to these figures. It’s like having a store with My Little Pony etc. My good friend Jackie bought me a Voodoo little keychain that looked like the devil for my Birthday. I came here and they had many other different characters at reasonable prices. I bought an angel since it seemed fitting.

Guess if you’re looking for unique gifts, this could be a place to buy these yarn-made stuffed animals or what have you, for $ 15 a pop, it better be a good friend. Frankly, the name scares me but guess it’s catchy and quite popular, there are waiting lists for certain characters. Friendly service. located 2nd level at Aberdeen Centre.

I love this cute little shop and I love that this is my 600th review! I knew about voodoo dolls from various places here that sold cute Asian trinklets but never really understood them probably because all that’s available in those stores are one or two of them and it didn’t make sense to me why someone would make something like this(and usually they’re not the cute ones.) However, this place has an entire wall on all three sides of its small square footage area of dolls not only of all kinds but with pictures, diagrams and explanations! The dolls here run from $ 12+ but the $ 12 «medium sized» ones are good enough for my purposes. I got harry potter(sorry«wizard») and dracula because they were SOO adorable! After coming back to the states I found out they also had a website :] woo hoo! Lovin’ it!

Uhhhhhhhhhh… huh? My first impression when I saw this thing was WTF?! Are you serious?! I will so put someones picture on it and and use it as my pin cushion! After coming to realize that each dolls were symbolic and each had their very own meaning, rather then meaning any potential harm, it’s completely the opposite! I figure why not it would make a great gift for some of my friends and family member and indeed they are«CUTE» in their very own way, horrifying if you ask me but still cute and meaningful.

We were actually getting ready to leave Aberdeen Centre, but from across the way, this huge sign caught my eye…“Voodoo Palace”. I could see from a distance little things hanging on a display, and I was like, we have to go see it! As we made our way over, there were all these little balls of yarn that looked so evil & menacing, but at the same time so cute! My first thought when I saw them was WTF! $ 22 for a 4−5″ little string man or $ 11.95 for a little 2−3″ one? As we got to looking a little more, we realized that each one had its own special meaning. They started to grow on me, and we ended up purchasing 6 of them as gifts! They are adorable little scary dolls(kinds that you have nightmares about, but at the same time, they are cute!)…my favorite has got to be the injured-sub. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect for my little 7 yr old boy! It’s meaning: Injured Sub regards his bandage and sling as his badge of honor for taking the hits for you. It is a little guy with a arm sling, and a bandage around his head and leg. These things are pricey, but we couldn’t resist buying them! All hand made too… that makes it okay =)

Cute store. Very cute. Who knew you could turn voodoo dolls into something… well… so cute? Giving them names, magic powers, and a backstory? That’s just well… cute. They’re not for me though… they run from $ 12 — $ 25 and frankly that’s just way too much for a ball of string.
