another gonzo, another restaurant that bites the dust in this location. Never had to eat in here, b/c unfortunately for them, there was also a weird smell around this area, or maybe from the herbal medicine shops inside the Rmd Public Market. And a bit too close to the grungy parking on ground level.

Holy moly service here is slow. They seem to only have 3 servers working the whole restaurant, and they are overwhelmed! We waited 45 minutes from when we put in our order to when we saw our first dish. Small things were lacking as well — we didn’t have any bowls, and when we asked for some, one of them was dirty. The server took it away, only to never return. The beef balls and shrimp spring rolls arrived with no worchestershire sauce. And we basically refilled our own tea pots with hot water. I also saw a few people help themselves to take-out containers as well. The shrimp spring rolls were delicious and garlicky. The deep fried shrimp balls were springy and meaty, but I felt they were a smidgen watery. We also ordered a mushroom taro roll, which said it was fried but it was a steamed dish. It lacked salt, and could’ve done with some oyster sauce. The beef meatball in the picture on the menu had four in the steamer, but ours came with three. And the liver siu mai dumpling was meaty, but the liver was overcooked and dry(and rough). The shrimp with pea tip rice roll was delicious, with a good amount of pea shoots. The place gets super busy in the morning(we grabbed the last table at 10am) since their dim sum is $ 2.98 across the board if you order before 11:30am. There’s also no tea charge, which is awesome! They also have an afternoon tea special — $ 6.50 per person gets you two dim sums and tea. Overall, the food is fairly good but the service is quite slow. They’re not grumpy, they just can’t keep up with demand. Note: the restaurant has its own entrance on Westminster Hwy, but it’s also attached to the Richmond Public Market.

Don’t know what’s happening to this place but they really need to hire more than one waitress. And the one they have can barely keep up. Dim sum took over a half hour to get to our table and then they told us they ran out of some food dishes. Not impressed!

Food is really good here. Came here for dim sum, stuffed! And the bill was $ 23 for 2! They give 20% discount, even on the weekend. However, service is a bit lacking. But the price is right!

Love discovering hidden gems like M’s! This is a restaurant on the ground floor of the Richmond Public Market. Enter from the street or from inside the market. There’s a lineup by 10am. Try to get there a little bit before. Dim sum comes out fresh, tasty, with 20% discount on already dirt cheap prices. Larger cook dishes are around $ 6 – 7, generous servings. No frills affair, but extremely attentative servers. Beware: English translation on the menu is sporadic at best. Better to go with a Chinese speaker.
