I came here ’cause they had cheap basic breakfast for under $ 6. Nothing fancy just eggs, toast, bacon and links. The taste was decent. Links were a bit questionable. There is a lot of hidden prices on some of the menu items, therefore, be careful of this. Customer service was decent.

There are so many Hong Kong cafes in Richmond and I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to come to this one. The last time I was here was at least 5 years ago! I came here on a Tuesday evening and it was nice that we got seated right away. Mostly anything you order from their menu will come with soup of the day and a drink. Most HK cafes you find will charge extra if you want the drink cold, but at least this one doesn’t. This place is also known for their rather large portions. However, the food was not very impressive. I ordered the«fried egg with mince beef tomato sauce rice»(~$ 12) and that was exactly what it was. I find that somewhat disappointing because I wasn’t expecting the tomato sauce to be like the ones you find in can at grocery stores for spaghetti. I was expecting a tad more authentic(/real) kind of tomato sauce. This dish literally requires no skills and just about a minute to make. Simply open the can of sauce, pour it on top of rice, and fry an egg. Even if I was lazy at home, I wouldn’t be as lazy to do that. In addition, that kind of spaghetti-like sauce on rice was just a tad weird for me. I guess there’s a first for everything. Also, drink refills are no longer free! They now charge $ 0.75 for a refill. I thought it would have been nice if the waitress had told us. Nevertheless, she was quite friendly but not friendly enough. My non-chinese friend who was ordering obviously is not familiar with the HK-style concept in which the meal comes with a drink. I think the waitress could’ve been more kind in showing him the choices for the drinks rather than expecting everyone to know the choices. Otherwise, service was quite on par with other cafes and food came promptly. I would come here again, but I would choose from their«choose 2 items + rice/noodles» for ~$ 12.

Dinner tonight … typical East Meets West type restaurant. the Set menu items are pretty good deals. Just be wary of the fine print of how much $ is added for ordering a cold drink vs bubble tea. there is a big difference. cold drink is an extra $ 0.50 where as bubble tea is an extra $ 3.00 otherwise a decent meal.

This place is ok. Its not the greatest and not the worse. Washroom is a hit and miss. I have been in there once where it stunk and pretty dirty and nasty. And at times it was ok acceptable but not clean. Food wise, its considered to be quite cheap. You can get a meal for less then $ 10 on certain times but usually ranges between $ 7.50 to $ 15 which may includes soup and yes a free HK style drink. My favorite is their pan fried chicken. Don’t think you can go wrong. They don’t advertise this but you get a free refill per dish order with your drink. You just have to ask them to fill it up. But for their refill drink it does take a long time for them to bring it over. You better have the patients. Service is not exceptionally great but it is an asian restaurant. so no complain.

A friend suggested this place for late night dinner so I came at 8:45pm and it only got busier as we stayed until 10:30. The service at first seemed pleasant but then as the night got by, service became more and more lacking. At one point during the meal, I remarked that this was like restaurant city. All the customers would slowly get more and more impatient with the angry emoticon above their heads. This was because the table to the left was waiting for the bill, we wanted the bill and the table to the right had been waiting to order for a long time. In the end the table to the left just got up and tracked their bill down with the manager. The place is cash only! I ordered the ketchup chicken rice(although the mix and match beside us looked really good), and my girlfriend got the taro preserved sausage chicken with rice. We both got the milk tea which came with refill. It says NOWHERE that you get free refill(s???)…other than Unilocal of course. We also had to ask three times before the refill came, so if you want more than that, you might have to ask 6 times. The waitresses weren’t very friendly and at times were even condescending, which makes the service worse than the typical HK Café. Despite all this, the food great and the portions were too large. I wish I was able to still eat that much food but as you can see from the picture, each dish can fill two people. I’d return for the great and plentiful food, but only if I wasn’t in a rush. They really need to hire more waitresses and make sure to hide the attitude.

Service and management is great. Food is ok, but for the value, hard to beat it. I don’t recommend taking your gf here if she’s the type to carry LV or Hermes bags, but if you are ok with Asian comfort food, then give this place a try.

Very affordable rather good quality food. Not outstanding, but will certainly fix a craving. Very very bitter milk tea– get it cold so you can get it pre-sweetened.

Prices creeped up a bit but the value is still there. I usually get the mix n’ match combo dish where you pick two items of the menu, drink, carbs, sauce and soup. For $ 10.75, it’s still almost unbeatable for flavor and bang for the buck. Open til 2AM, it’s great for late night eats. Depending on the server, service can be hit or miss. The food keeps bringing me back though.

Geez I must have been hungry, cuz this place is better than I expected! I’ve been to Alleluia Café many years ago and I don’t remember it being anything special. I had a late dinner at Alleluia tonight and I have to say it was pretty good! Much better than I remembered it! Could they have changed ownership? Ok here we go. A friend who lives close to me texted me around 4 pm and asked me if I could help him move a 6 foot dinning room table. I said yes, so he picked me up around 645 and the two of us moved a 6 foot bamboo table! I know bamboo sounds light but this %$@@! THING was super heavy!!! I bet ya it weighed 200 lbs! After working up a sweat we drove over to Richmond to meet up with another friend for a late dinner. I was hungry. It must have been like 930 before we ordered! Anyways, I got the 3 course meal for $ 12.50. A three course meal plus soup and a cold drink for 12 bucks… man that’s a pretty good deal! I got the chinese soup, ox tongue, chicken fillet, and a fish fillet with a salad. Overall, thumbs up from me! I left stuffed! The food was pretty good! If you’re in Richmond looking for a cheap yet filling meal drop by Alleluia Café! You might see me pigging out there! Haha!

Quantity is a lot, quality is good. Atmosphere is nice, service is quick and friendly. Haven’t had Hong Kong style meals in awhile and this was definitely a good pick because it satisfied the craving. Baked pork chop is always delicious!

Waited 30 minutes for our food after asking twice to follow up after 20 and the food was terribly bland. For a Café I expected the service to be a little quicker. First and last time coming here,

Food took forever, not only were waiters unapologetic they were also extremely rude and unwelcoming. They also messed up our order due to miscommunication and tried to put the blame on my group. My coworkers both ordered fried rice and it took them over half an hour to make and multiple checks.

I really liked this place!!! Been super craving Eastern/Western food done right. Was told that this type of food is served at HK Cafes such as this. I was not disappointed. We ordered take out so I can’t comment on the environment here. I ordered the pork chop, which was done just right, had it with almond milk which was delicious. Had a group of 4 friends that came here with me, so we all did family style at one of our places. The Curry was delicious! I can’t even remember all the dishes my friends ordered, but I definitely stuffed myself with everything on that table. Will definitely come back here again!

As said, nothing spectacular here… It is a typical Chinese café. They have a large variety of selections and prices are good with good portions. Service is fast and pretty consistent with the few times I’ve been to this place. I’d definitely come back again!

My last visit here, we had to drive one of our peanut-sensitive co-worker to the ER after she was assured that her dish was peanut-free and did not contain or contaminated with nuts, peanut oil, etc. What did we expect coming from a Chinese resto, right? Well, that was many years ago(pre-Yelp). So I figure I’d give it another go. This time, I brought my wife and kids since we’ve been looking for a decent HK Style Café in Richmond. First off, parking here is one of the worst in Richmond. Half of the lot is reserved for businesses closed during weekends. The back lot is completely empty while cars waiting for people to leave are lined up along the driveway. The service was mediocre at best. They keep forgetting the soup and the drinks. We had to follow up on them quite a few times. * Lamb Curry on Rice — First off, it’s goat meat. Second, it was just skin and bones, and hardly any meat. Yes, branded goat skin. FAIL. * Mix and Match, Rib Eye Steak, Chicken Steak and Chicken Steak with Mushroom Sauce, choice of soup, and rice or spaghetti, and comes with hot/cold drink. The pork cutlet was good, not dry. The rib eye and chicken steaks tasted funny(the meat were, let’s say, expired and pass their prime). I got sick after. FAIL. * Fish with Egg Swirl Rice Noodles — tasty, good portion for two kids to share. And, both kids loved it. Hence, the One(1) Star. I won’t be giving Alleluia Café a third time, that’s for sure. And, the search for a decent HK Style Café in Richmond continues…

Had the beef brisket on rice dish here. I didn’t expect there to be entire slices of ginger all over the dish. Literally had to pick out every piece. Maybe no biggie for some, but I wish they had mentioned that somewhere or I would’ve chosen another dish. The 1 free refill policy still holds over here. Yay!

Yay I’m a fan of this place! It’s a pretty standard HK café. It feels similar to places like Golden Oscars or Cattle Café, but the portions here are HUUUUUGE! I ordered 2 dishes between me and my friends and we were all able to take home leftovers for our lunches the next day. I particularly enjoyed the Portuguese curry-ish dish(strongly tastes of DELICIOUS coconut milk) and the prices are pretty cheap considering that some meals come with a drink as well! I’ll definitely be back

MYFAVOURITEHKCAFERESTAURANT! Great selection on their mini seat meals during open to 6pm and then 9pm to close. Between 6−9pm, they still have a pretty good dinner menu where you can pick two or three items on rice or spaghetti, your choice of soup, drink, and sauce for $ 10 which I find it to be an extremely good deal! Their deep fried chicken leg is delicious and I also like their filet cutlet as well. The downside is… I can’t ever seem to decide what I want because there so many good picks on their menu. Oh and you also get free refills on the same drink you ordered. It does take them awhile to prepare the drinks due to giving out free refills but it’s totally worth the wait and can’t complain because you probably won’t find a HK café this cheap that is pretty good quality :) GOODDEAL! and I purposely drive out from Burnaby to come here.

I re-rediscovered this place. I haven’t eaten here in a while and decided to come back. I often love the combination deals they have. For example, I can choose two meat items with the choice of rice or spaghetti, sauce, soup of the day, and a cold or hot drink. all for only $ 8.95 all day! Such a great deal compared to other similar restaurants offering a similar deal. My minute steak was tender and soft and my chicken wings were crispy yet juicy inside. I kept stealing from my boyfriend’s plate because his pork cutlet was delicious! And their peppercorn sauce is so peppery and flavourful! All in all we were well satisfied with our ~$ 20 bill and will be returning soon! The other dishes here are great to share amongst a group or couple as well! ps: it’s an extra $ 0.50 for adding honey to a drink(but they give a decent amount).
