Can’t go wrong with the late night specials here. Every Monday to Saturday, from 8.30 — 11pm, their incredibly cheap late night specials menu is available, offering $ 4.95 — $ 5.95 burgers and a variety of appetizers ranging from $ 3.95 — $ 6.95. We came here for a late dinner and decided to get a clam chowder soup($ 4.95), a mushroom burger($ 4.95), and an L.A. burger($ 5.95). The clam chowder soup had lots of ingredients, and came with a side of crispy garlic bread. The taste was pretty good, quite possibly better than some other ones I’ve had at fine dining restaurants. The burgers each arrived with lots of salad & a side of potatoes. To be honest, the taste of the burgers was comparable to those $ 10+ burgers from chain restaurants such as Red Robin or White Spot. Overall, service was ok but the food quality & portion sizes were what really surprised us. Above average quality & large portion sizes — all at such amazingly low prices! We will definitely be back again when the late night hunger pangs strike.

This restaurant offers good, solid food at VERY reasonable prices. They have lunch specials for $ 5.95, and they are actually full meals. Note that it is required that you buy a beverage in order to get the lunch special price. They have a varied menu, from salads, to sandwiches, burgers, chicken strips, etc. Note that they do not serve french fries. If you’re craving a frosty beverage, they are fully licensed and have different drink specials each day. They also have a late-night menu, at which time you can pick up a few items to share with your friends while you’re hanging out. If you’re looking for good food at a cheap price, this is your place.

Pretty good little dinner place, the prices are insanely good. Often get the mozzarella burger, I like it. Everything on the menu is alright, nothing amazing, nothing terrible. Just good. The late night special is great. Good place for family as you can eat out for a reasonable bill. They really need to get some fries going on though!

I’m honestly struggling to write this review because even though i’ve been to LA Grill mors than once, I barely have any memory of my experience. From what little I remember, the place was dark with awful track lighting that shone in your eye. Little difference to sitting on the curb under a street lamp, really. Sandwiches are dry and incredibly boring. They come with roast potatos or whatever they call them, which give one no pleasure to eat as they are nowhere near crisp or even flavorful(save your carbs for the day). It was also difficult to get service, as the restaurant layout is not very open and I imagine the slow service must be due to said layout hindering the staff from doing frequent surverys of the dining floor; they mostly seem to haunt the bar in the far corner. At my last visit, I don’t exactly recall what happened, but they must’ve been having some trouble with their debit machine because I had to go next door to TD to withdraw money for the bill. Luckily I bank with TD, but a warning may have been welcome before sitting down and ordering, lest others were unable to pay with their cards. It remains a mystery to me, how this business persists with their lacklustre food and other such complains. The Mcdonalds drive thru is possibly even a better option.

I haven’t had anything this nasty in a long time… super blend grill chicken with over cooked pasta… though the price is cheap. I guess what u pay is what u get… plus the waitress were not the most pleasant to deal with, didn’t even know who orders what and where to set the plates.

Ugh… no, thanks. I went for their for their late night menu where their burgers are hugely discounted, and after eating my burger I see see why they are discounted. When I first entered the restaurant it was chaos; like me, everyone wanted to take advantage of their discounted menu. The restaurant was dark and had to interesting décor. We waited a few minutes and were seated. It took the server 10 minutes to even ask for our drink order and when she did she was already walking away as I was telling her the order. They seemed extremely understaffed. When the food finally arrived I was thoroughly disappointed. The menu states that the burger comes with roast potatoes and salad. I did not know two pieces of potato was all I was going to get, and I also did not realize that the salad was going to be a few scraps of spring greens that looked like they were scraped off the bottom of the salad bin. On top of all that there was no dressing. I guess you get what you pay for. A $ 6 burger is going to taste like a $ 6 burger. I would not come back again for their late night menu and because of the terrible service I will not be returning, period. If you do go, try something else than their burgers.

Honestly I was skeptical when first going in here. I walked in, I got seated and quickly got a drink and water. Moments later a server(Michelle?) came and greeted me with specials and her own personal recomendation. I was blown away! A huge plate for about 10 bucks with steak, rice, salad, potatoes and more! WOW! If you ever have the chance to stop by here you MUST give them a shot! I don’t hand out 5 stars easily and they are always reserved for top tier establishments but the service quality and price are all on point to create a well rounded restaurant !

Cheap food ! Don’t expect much, you get what you pay for, this place is trying to be high end but more like fast food. Honestly Dennie’s or White spot are much better value for the money! I make much better food at home and when I go out I expect to eat at least quality at a reasonable price The service is awful. The waitress was not very nice rude and argumentative.

If you want crappy food and even crappier service, this is the place to be for your date. Came here with a Groupon, like most of the customers, and waited 30 mins for SANDYSOUP. But the waiting game gets better, after another 30 mins our SALAD came. Then as the waiting game progresses another 15 mins, our steak and shrimps came. The steak was overcooked and had hard rice to accompany it. So if you want food cooked with no experience, or care, AND a waitress that gossips with her coworkers, rather than serving the line forming at the door, you will love this place. – I know this is a cheap place to eat but there AREWAYBETTER options out there for 15 $.

They serve some pretty decent food here. You get what you paid for. I usually order the fettuccini Alfredo lunch special. Service was attentive and good. In order to have the lunch special, you need to get a drink with your order and I must say that the drinks they serve may be a little bit watered-down.

So, the first time I came here, I ordered the Prawn Curry Penne and I thought it was a pretty good. So, yesterday, when my coworkers wanted to order take out from here, I obviously agreed. So, we did. It took a while before they answered the phone.(We understood that they were probably busy with a dinner rush.) This time, I ordered the Spicy Tomato Linguine. I have never tried that specific pasta and I’m not the most knowledgable about food but, I have eaten my fair share of pastas at various places… THEREWASLITERALLYNOTHINGINMYPASTAEXCEPTFORSAUCEANDLINGUINE. I love pasta. So, when I opened my box of food I was one extremely unhappy camper. And I was hungry too. I couldn’t even complain because you can’t really prove something like that over the phone. So, I ate what was in the box. The sauce was a bit runny. And that’s really all I can talk about because there was nothing else in my pasta…

We came here on a groupon(three course meal: clam chowder, caesar salad, any entrée) and we left extremely full and fairly satisfied. The clam chowder was massive and filling, but just a bit salty. Neither of us could finish the gigantic bowl and requested for our salads shortly. We both had the baby shrimp caesar(could have picked grilled chicken but didn’t) and it was decent as well but there was a bit too much sauce for us.(Note: I’m Asian and I’m used to lightly seasoned dishes so the amount of dressing was probably perfect for a lot of people) The mains were of good value because we both picked the $ 15.99 dinners that come with garlic prawns. We shared the new york steak and salmon, and I actually preferred the salmon while my friend preferred the steak. The garlic shrimp were cooked very well and were quite flavourful. They went really well with the rice and I managed to finish ALL the carbs somehow…(toasted garlic bread, a heaping of rice, a roasted potato) Anyways, the Groupon was a really good deal and I’ve eaten here before for their specials and they were pretty affordable and well priced as well. It’s one of the only«Canadian» restaurants in the area, as most of the other eateries are either fast food joints or Asian restaurants. Definitely recommended!

Cheap food. Long line ups. No reservations, it’s first come first serve so there is usually a line at the door. I ordered an iced tea and it tasted like syrup water, nothing like iced tea. We shared some appetizers: calamari, deep fried zucchini, and S&P wings. The calamari was good but a bit dry, the deep fried zucchini and wings were good. We each ordered their daily special — New York steak dinner. It came with rice, salad, two small pieces of garlic bread, and potatoes. It was decent but the waiting time for our food took awhile even around 8pm since there were so many people at the restaurant. Tip: daily specials available only if you purchase a drink

solid 3.5 stars because of its value and if you’re not into a real pub scene, this one is closer to a family style. Good service. same owner as the Purple Olive in DT(til it was sold recently). cozy atmosphere, and can recommend to a fellow Unilocaler. located in the blundell plaza, so plenty of parking. take out available.

The food was cheap and so was the quality. I had curry penne and it was a bit sour. I wish it had stronger curry flavor. Pasta was done a bit too soft for my taste. The worst part is that I had a stomach ache after.

Cheap food, lots of daily specials. My mom loves coming here for their burgers/wraps. I’ve had pretty good service there unlike some of the other reviews. The shrimp avocado wrap is my absolute favourite. It’s fresh, generous and filling. For the price, I couldn’t ask for much more.

Very disappointed. This place was recommended by a coworker who raved about it. When my friend and I walked in late afternoon, we were the only patrons but the hostess/waitress was not very friendly or attentive. We split a shrimp sandwich and we were glad we didn’t order more as the food was terrible. The toasted bread was hard and the shrimp were tiny and tasteless. The caesar salad was also very disappointing. Even at these price points, I can think of better value in Richmond. Will never go again.
