I went here with my two sisters and it was not a pleasant experience. We had to wait because no one was in the front to direct us to our seats. We sat down and chose what we wanted from the menu. To our dismay, most of the dessert items on the menu were not available. It would’ve been better if they had informed us prior to ordering. The food was alright. The service was horrible and unprofessional. Later on our meal, we politely asked a server for water and she said she would bring it over shortly after. We patiently waited for quite some time thinking that maybe she would come soon. It still did not come. All we were asking for was water… is that not simple enough? The server clearly forgot our request for water so we asked another server. Thankfully, she didn’t forget our water; it was brought to us within a minute or so. Towards the end of our meal, one of the male servers acted very unprofessionally. He saw his friend seated at a table very close to mine and said loudly something along the lines of, «YOHOLYSH*T! WHATTHE F*CKMAN I DIDN’T EVENSEEYOUHERE!» Must I say, the majority of the customers at the café were seniors of Asian decent. Even though some of them may not understand you, that kind of behavior is unacceptable. I am never coming here again!

It used to be UCC Café and now replaced by Baker One Café in Aberdeen Centre. The interior is the same and the menu pretty similar to the old one. I usually have NO expectation of service or quality of food at any Hong Kong style café in Richmond if I pay for $ 9-$ 13 of lunch set(soup, main dish and drink). Our server never asks/serves us a glass of water or a cup of tea and expects us to order a drink as well! Well, we did order an Americano. I would say Starbucks coffee better than it! In addition, the servers were chatting at the back rather than checking the customer need. We had simple lunch and coffee… Pork cutlet and egg omelette fried rice in tomato sauce — Pork chop was too fatty, I cut off 14 to 1⁄3 portion of fat way! The tomato sauce w/mushroom was awful! Seafood spaghetti — It looked great and taste good! The scallops were a bit fishy. Overall, the food was below average and service was terrible! If they want on-going business and return customer, they really need to improve food quality and customer service.

Curry was a little on the bland side and severely overpriced. The curry kitchen in parker place($ 6) has more flavourful curry for exactly half the price of this restaurant($ 12). Staff are nice enough but the waiter and waitress spent more time flirting than paying attention to the needs of customers(refilling water, seating incoming patrons, clearing tables, getting the bill). Points for a varied menu and a nice interior design though. I may come back to try the other items on the menu but i won’t be ordering this dish again.

Me and 2 friends went here yesterday. I got the pork omelet rice and my friends got pasta. The pork tasted rancid, like it was fried in old oil. The fried rice, tasteless. The portions overall was very small. One of my friends got a pesto pasta, it tasted more like peppercorn. my other friend got a carbonara… it was a super weird taste, i cant’ even begin to describe. tip: go there for the 3.99 afternoon tea special, but DONOT order regular food.
