Came here with two other ladies who had their babies with them. The restaurant was super accommodating with two high chairs. They even provided two small dishes of avocado for the babies to munch on while we waited for our food and ate! The waitress was very interactive with the babies and made them smile several times. I ordered a chopped scallop roll, a salmon avocado roll and a toro nigiri. All were fresh and delicious. My friends ordered a sashimi box and a beef udon with a Saba nigiri. The friend who ordered the sashimi box had to pack up and go since the little one was fussing. The beef udon and Saba nigiri were tasty according to my friend. I will definitely be back as it’s hard to find accommodating restaurants for babies.

This place is a stones throw from where I live and while I’m used to an abundance of good sushi places when I lived in Vancouver, this one is decent when I want sushi in the moment. There are a lot of items that are not sushi centric so if you have a picky eater in your party they can probably find something here. Service is always an A+ !

Just had a beef teriyaki roll from this place and found brown paper towel rolled into the beef! I couldn’t tell until I bit into it and couldn’t chew it anymore. Took the roll apart and saw paper towel through out the whole roll. It could be an honest mistake but can’t help but think it was used as a filler? Brown paper towel looked exactly the same as the beef! Everyone makes mistakes, I get it, but went back there and of the chefs laughed it off!!! Never going there again!

We are regulars here. We have been visiting this restaurant for a few years now watched a few Chiefs come and go. Enjoyed the nonsense signage outside. Sad to see some favourite waitresses leave! It seems as though the food did improve over the years and the prices are excellent. They are often understaffed and I believe the owner runs a tight ship with no wiggle room for exceptions such as if you want a type of extra sauce you’re paying for it! They seem a little afraid of him when he comes in. Overall pleasant place to be as long as it’s not busy. Worth a try nothing special but reasonable place for in a pinch!

Good sushi, good price. Looks can be deceiving, it looks much better inside, although their signs outside are hilarious :)

I’ve been going here at least once a month with my daughter for the last 6 months. Our goal was to go through the special roll menu and try something new each time. Today they had a new menu and fortunately the special rolls were still listed. Our favourites so far are the Oxford, crunch, and dragon roll and today the Ginza roll(without cream cheese). There was a special fish roll for $ 3 great price, another good roll. We’ll keep trying any new special they have. It has been consistently good and fresh each time. I used to only get california combos and dynamite rolls, so I’m glad for the fun choices. They serve the yellow ginger with the dishes which I prefer. It’s a small place, has never been busy when we’ve gone. Always friendly. Because there are so many sushi places, this ranks above the others I’ve tried in the area: Sushi Town, Asahi, Naomi, kisoya, Akari, Narita, Currently there is a new weird sign in the window almost looks like a large realtor’s sign… but it’s not ignore it and enjoy a quick meal.

Quick, fresh, cheap and delicious! Small little location but don’t let it fool you! My good friend worked here for 2+yrs as head chef before he decided go move out of province and venture out to the East coast. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and 6 recommendations: 1: spicy salmon or tuna sashimi. Just right with the spicy sauce and crisp cucumbers! 2: Hot night roll: OMG. 3: Viking roll: OMFG… 4: Legend Roll: if you like avocado, this is the roll for you! 5: spicy tuna tempura roll: not too greasy and just tastes right! 6: Yakisoba is delish!!! I didn’t give 5 stars as it depends on who the waitress is. 2 are great and quick and the 2 younger highschool and college students lag more then dial up Internet!!!

I’ll start this off by saying that this is a food-only review. I didn’t sit inside the restaurant to eat, I only did take-out. I haven’t a clue what the actual service is like here. Still being a pretty new face in Coquitlam, I haven’t quite gotten my bearings when it comes to restaurants. I can’t distinguish between the hits and the misses, so I rely on my friend(aka Coquitlam tour guide) to show me the spots. I rolled in here at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon on a Wednesday, and it was dead as a doornail. I pondered over the menu for a bit, while my friend ordered nearly its entire contents. I decided on a salmon roll, dragon roll(california roll topped with barbeque eel), and appetizer tempura. Total came to 17 dollars and some odd cents. I’m not too picky when it comes to sushi, it’s kind of like pizza for me. For that reason, I don’t like to dish out tons of money on it(of course, I am pretty cheap to begin with). One thing I did enjoy was the low cost. All the rolls are quite inexpensive, and salmon nigiri for $ 1? Yes, please. Both my salmon roll and dragon roll were fresh and flavorful. I wasn’t incredibly impressed with the tempura. While tasty, the pieces were quite small, and it was only prawn and yam. I HAD hoped to see a vegetable in there, maybe a deep-fried broccoli or zucchini, but perhaps I’m asking for too much. Tasty sushi, nothing to rush out for, but a good spot if you’re on a budget.

The worst restaurant experience of my life! 20 minutes to even see a waitress. No set bento box meals … Had to ask for chopsticks 3 or 4 times … Dynamite roll with no avacado … DISASTER!!! And all three meals came at a different time about 10 minutes after the other! NEVERAGAIN!!!

I made fun of the crazy sign outside of this place for well over a year. Finally went in and enjoyed the food and service. Has become a very regular to-go place for the wife and I.

Since I’ve been preggo, I haven’t gone more than a week without their Philadelphia Roll. I LOVE this place! My husband loves it. Our kids love it and the service is fast and friendly. SO happy to have this place just down the street!

After reading reviews on , i figured i give it ago after going without sushi for 2 days. I ordered take out because the gf didn’t want dinner; california roll, salmon roll, negitori roll, and chopped scallop roll. It was really fishy… i didn’t like it one bit. I’m only giving it two stars because the california roll was good and cheap. Everything else i had a hard time swallowing. Yeah i know it’s fish and it should be fishy, but not unpleasantly fishy. Again your experience/opinion may vary.

If you’re way out of the City & want really good, fast, fresh sushi — this is the place to grab it!(Did I mention it’s also on the cheap for what you actually score)? Restaurant’s not huge but, it’s a found favourite for take-out.
