Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful view, building, space, etc… You must visit Poplar Grove if you are in the area. The opportunity to sit here and appreciate the view from Naramata is awesome. The wine is good. I’m not a wine drinker, but my husband, friends, and family all really like their wine. If I was rating their wine, it’d easily be 4 stars. The service in the tasting room is really poor. We’ve been there several times, once just for the tasting room and other times after eating in the Vanilla Pod Restaurant. Why are the employees so snooty?! It took us too long to get anyone to help us when one tasting pod was occupied. The woman who helped us was so unpleasant that even my stepmother was appalled and she typically doesn’t say anything about bad service. There’s a reason why places like Mission Hill are crazy busy even though their wine is lackluster. They have good customer service. There’s a reason why Poplar Grove was almost empty a few days before BC day weekend: poor customer service.

What a stunning vinyard! Seriously this place is beautiful, and the view is absolutely breathtaking! There is a restaurant attached to the wine tasting room that over looks the Okanagan and you can enjoy the sunset while sipping on a great glass of vino and enjoying your meal. I know a few people have been tough on their wines but I found that their more expensive aged wines were outstanding. We even bought a bottle to enjoy a few years from now on our anniversary. I was very impressed with the knowledge the staff had and the meal we had on the terrace was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place and I’m sure we will be back!

Amazing view and building, wine was just average. Just like the other reviewers have stated, service is poor and staff are rude.

The view and the building at Poplar Grove is fantastic. The service, and attitude of the tasting room is less than desirable. On our«winery» crawl we stopped in here, as it was recommended to us by many people. We did a tasting, and the lady doing our tasting didn’t listen at all to our opinions. After saying we didn’t like the white and wanted a red, she proceeded to give us another white. She spoke with arrogance, and treated us like we were imbeciles. We promptly left without purchasing a bottle, as no one deserves to be treated poorly. Too bad, as the view and the building are just spectacular.

Stunning facility with beautiful views of the lake and Penticton. Wines are as good as it gets in the Okanagan but you will pay accordingly. Tasting experience was great, very down to earth and attentive. A must see!

Came here on a wine tasting tour. The wine was good, the views were AMAZING, and the facility is beautiful. Having said that, I found it a bit pretentious and over priced.

The setting: the field between the restaurant, the vines and the view of the blue lake in front of us. What she said: What a beautiful view. You could get married here. What he said: You know, if you’re out here by yourself, and you were choking, you’d need to perform the heimlich maneuver on yourself. Which I believe means, I’m glad I’m standing out here with you, or else I’d be really screwed if I was choking. A beautiful location for a wine inspired lunch, or a wedding, Poplar Grove is breathtaking. Arguably one of the largest tasting rooms in Naramata(or at least the largest we visited), it boasts several tasting stations, an array of locally sourced cookbooks and other wine and kitchen items as well as a large wine fridge. With an operation this size one might think that service could suffer, but that was hardly the case. Our wine hostess was a gem, a constant smile on her face, a wicked knowledge of her pours and, to boot, she waived the tasting fee for us as it was my birthday. And the very next day, we came back to purchase the Pinot Gris — with a nose on it that would make a perfumer blush! The moral of the above he said/she said? Always, drink with the ones you love.

Awesome view and great building. We were the only ones there but it could hold a lot of people. It had a really cool private tasting room. Only a couple of things were open. Bought a merlot. Only tried 3 but they were good

Wow! Such a beautiful location, an amazing building and small garden area and the chardonnay and pinot gris are great!

This is an excellent boutique winery along the Naramata Bench, overlooking the lake. Definitely one of the best views of the wineries we visited. We lucked out by having the owner, Ian Sutherland, speak to our group about the various wines and the winemaking process. We sampled a helluva lot of whites & reds, with my faves being the Poplar Grove Merlot and the Monster Gewürztraminer. We also sampled two of their cheeses, an earthy Harvest Moon Washed Rind and a creamy Naramata Bench Blue. Wine & cheese, it doesn’t get better than this!
