Cheap wines. Lack of flavor and anything interesting. Stop by if you want sugar water«white wines». Terrible customer service.

Found the winery advertised at Bench so decided to find it on Unilocal.Tasted 4 wines, all very good, $ 5 for wine tasting or fees waived when buying a bottle. Nice property, friendly staff. Worth checking it out.

Recommended by a local, otherwise we wouldn’t have stopped. We’re glad we did stop. This is the only Okanogan winery from which we purchased a bottle of wine for our own use, a white blend called Oasis(2014). We prefer red wines, but found this blend very good. Service was good, provided by the assistant winemaker — part of the family running the winery. Tasting room is located inside the winery, and has a nice«cave-like» feel. There is a small patio balcony out front overlooking the highway and Lake Okanogan.

Every wine I tried here was amazing. I bought a lot and they also sold me a special case for shipping a whole load of wine on the flight back to Ontario. The building doesn’t look anything fancy, but the wine tastes so much better than the building looks. If you’re ever on a wine tour in the Okanagan, make sure you stop by here. You won’t be disappointed!

Well they were long since sold out of the Oasis when we arrived last Wednesday, however the Pinot Gris was amazing too! In the baking heat of the day we enjoyed a slow devolution on their patio that overlooks the lake with the help of the pinot paired with some delicious cheeze… The Owners’ daughter was such a gracious host and happy to share the Black Widow Winery history. I definitely recommend making a stop here… only next year we plan to go in June when they have some of that Oasis available. Cheers!

On a hot day — and when isn’t it hot in the Okanagan in the summertime — estate wineries like Black Widow are a smart way to both escape the heat and enjoy a sip or two or three. Family run and family owned, this bunker built into a hillside is unassumingly impressive because it isn’t until you enter the building that you realize you are in their cellar. It’s lovely when your wine hostess is also the daughter of the owner who happens to be serving up tastes elbow to elbow. If you close your eyes, it can almost feel like you’re sitting down for dinner at their house, complete with a discussion about generational differences between musical tastes. Don’t skip out admiring some of the small charms — like black widows stamped into the steps and the reservable terrace for cheese and wine pairings by appointment. And do ensure you buy a bottle, they’re only available through those cellar doors. My pick? The Oasis. Supposedly it’ll pair well with a spicy asian dish!
