I came here explicitly for the Tiger Blue cheese but unfortunately they had just sold out for the day. I would definitely call ahead next time to avoid disappointment. They did have a surface ripened blue cheese and a camembert that were both tasty at first bite and I purchased a round of each. Upon really getting into them though, I didn’t really find the surface ripened blue to be particularly great. The camembert was great the first day, but definitely took on an ammonia-y after taste a few days after opening. So! Eat it all and eat it in one go. Back to the surface ripened blue though — I am a fan of these cheeses in general(for example, I love Salt Spring Island Cheese Co’s Blue Juliet) however I found that the blue cheese taste didn’t permeate enough throughout the cheese to be truly satisfying. All that being said, the customer service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. If you have the option to bike or drive to this location, I recommend driving. They’re at the bottom of a downhill driveway that is a slog to get back up on a bike.

Tiger Blue. This is the cheese that I dream of at night. My nightmares of bare bread are turned into fantasies of charcuterie when I think of Tiger Blue. File this away as a «MUSTTRY» if you are a cheese fan — it’s so good that I guarantee those who hate blue cheese will be bowing down to the Cheese Gods after sampling this delicacy.

A boutique cheese maker in the Okanagan making primarily cow’s milk cheeses(with milk from the D Dutchman Dairy in Sicamous). Available in a variety of speciality stores in BC, and a couple in Calgary(check the Web site). At the cheesery, you can sample three cheese on any given day. The new Clean Slate winery is co-located with this store. If you like blue cheese, the Tiger Blue is heaven: creamier than a roquefort or Stilton, and very salty. We bought one to take home to Calgary, but ended up eating the whole wedge with bread while wine tasting on the Naramata bench, and had to go back for another!
