Two cashiers working. For the Saturday morning of a long weekend. Wow! I waited in line for about 15 minutes before the managers realized they should probably get a few more staff on the checkout lanes. Ridiculous!

I can’t think of a better way to describe this place other than it’s a ghetto-ass shit hole. Shelving units are broken. Displays are all over the floor. I found a bunch of wet floor signs shoved behind the bike display. And they always put displays of Bounce/Fleecy throughout the store. So everywhere you go, you have to smell that god awful product, which I am also allergic to. Like, restrain it to the cleaning supplies aisle! I’m going to miss the paradise Target down the street from this Walmart.

This has got to be probably one of the worst Wal-Marts in the city. The parking lot is fairly large but in a strip mall so it is always busy. The parking spots themselves are narrow and my car has actually gotten a couple scratches from inconsiderate people. Once in the store, it is surprisingly dirty. There are never any shopping carts or baskets to be found, it’s as if they only own 50% of the carts they actually need, so you see people roaming around just holding stuff. Their bathrooms always seem to be dirty with the trash cans overflowing and the staff is hit and miss. When shopping for curtains, their prices actually seemed to be more expensive, the same curtains at the South Keys Wal-Mart were $ 3 cheaper. I’m not sure if that is a labelling error but it certainly made me more cautious. They rarely have all of the express checkouts open, causing a line to form through the winding queue and down aisle into the store. Some of their cashiers are great, but a lot are incompetent, frequently making mistakes, and even arguing with me about their mistakes. It is a full service location with groceries and pharmacy, but everything just feels off, either the sections are understocked, or their produce feels like it is about to expire. If you have a vehicle or can make it to another Wal-Mart location, I recommend you do so.

I’ve been debating about reviewing this Walmart for awhile now, since come on, it’s a WalMart and how can it really vary much from the other locations right? Well, I’ve been there quite a few times recently and decided it was time to break it down for you guys. If you’re choosing to shop here, you might want to rethink it. Or at least go with a list and be prepared for the wait of a lifetime. The parking lot is massive and there’s tons of other stuff around there now like a Second Cup, Mucho Burrito, a Spa, bank and Zaki’s. My first issue with this place is the carts. Every time I’ve been here I’ve had to wait for a cart. I don’t know if they simply don’t have enough or the carts don’t come back fast enough, but come on, you’re a giant freaking Walmart, you should be able to have enough carts for your customers. Since this is a superstore it’s got pretty much everything including a huge grocery selection, photo and imaging station and pharmacy along with all of Walmart’s normal departments. In that regard it’s pretty much like any other Walmart I’ve been to. Here’s where it’s different: Twice now, I’ve gone here to get some miscellaneous groceries, house supplies and such and had to leave my stuff at the cash register because the cashier had no idea what she was doing. The first time there were two people ahead of me, and the cashier didn’t know how the enter coupons. Instead of calling for help she just kind of stood there and hoped she would figure it out. I waited for 15 minutes with one other person ahead of me, because the other person bailed. The second time this happened I was waiting for 25 minutes with one other person ahead of me who was complaining that the cashier wasn’t entering the price for the produce right. The cashier literally went back and forth with another cashier trying to sort it out. Worst of all? No apologies, no eye contact, nothing with myself and the rest of the lineup. Ugh. In terms of he store itself, yes it has probably everything you need or want, and the grocery section is much cheaper than Loblaws. That being said, the produce isn’t great and they don’t have as much selection as some other spots. I usually come here for things like paper towel and laundry detergent and the prices are great for that kind of stuff. The place is massive and still new, so it’s pretty clean and well stocked. 3⁄30
