This Keg is okay. I’m often here with the family when I’m back visiting Ottawa. A Keg is a Keg; huge portions of meat and standard sides. You know. Opulence for the middle class. The service varies from night to night. On the plus side I’m glad they preserved a heritage buildings(1850s) vintage.

Keg manor. Fav keg location. Perfect for a special occasion or date. A tiny bit little more pricey than regular kegs but it’s for the ambiance! What a gorgeous house to have a restaurant in. My prime rib steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare($ 30 for 10oz). Friendly professional service. Reservations are highly recommended… And if want to come here for Valentine’s Day… Remember to call like 3 months in advance!

Normally the Keg — is always 5 stars. At times better than HY’s. The Manor location is great nice atmosphere but something was not right with the main manager. Overheard her lashing out at front desk staff uncomfortable for them and me. Meal — Sirloin was cooked to perfection for two of them but medium well was delivered medium rare, and all three had sinew through them. Small amount of veggies compared to Byward Market Keg who has never disappointed yet. Will stick to Keg in the market.

We were a large group celebrating a birthday with an 830pm reservation. Overall halve the group was satisfied and the other halve was not. The building has great character too bad the food does’nt.When I pay good money for food I hope to get quality and if I don’t I’m not happy. In my opinion The Keg Manor is one step up from a fast food restaurant. The food is overpriced and not worth half of what they are charging. Needless to say I will not return to The Keg Manor.

We came here for a friend’s birthday. It was my first time visiting the Keg Manor. Our group was seated in a space with a fireplace. Although dimmed lighting and atmosphere was nice and cozy, the way our tables were set up(in a U shape as if we were at a meeting — we were only missing a projector… LOL) was a bit odd. Since we had about 15 people, we waited for an hour for the food arrived. I ordered the pistachio crusted salmon with mashed potatoes, sautéed bacon, Brussels sprout and maple butter. It was absolutely delicious!!! Just when I thought to myself this is a place I would come back to, I noticed a lipstick mark on the cup I had been drinking from… At that point, I freaked out because I wasn’t even wearing lipstick!!! The server apologized and replaced it with a clean cup. Later on, he offered to bring me an ice cream or a dessert for the dirty cup, but my appetite was completely gone so I declined the offer.

I often find the Keg a high-end fast food restaurant. I’m always satisfied, but it seems the same-same all the time. However, my husband and I recently went to the Manor for the first time and I had one of the best meals I’ve ever had at the Keg and any steakhouse for that matter! We shared the scallops appetizer, it came with 6 wrapped in bacon and were cooked to perfection. My husband had the prime rib and Alaskan King Crab Legs and I had a meal from their Crab Menu that was steak with Dungenese Crab and their vegetable side. Prime rib was delicious, steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the vegetable side was one of the best I’ve had. Service was lacking a little bit. We kept overhearing the waiter at the table next to us talk about the menu and he was great, he had a great explanation to everything and I wished he was ours waiter. We eavesdropped on his recommendations and went with those. We had a waitress who wasn’t bad, but she was just average and when you see a great waitstaff, you really notice the«average» ones. But overall, we were very impressed and would recommend this Keg over any other in the city.

I head to this location when I’m looking for a place with good atmosphere and food that won’t scare unadventurous eaters. The food here is normally very good, but not mind blowing. I mean it is the Keg after all. Unfortunately on my last visit the food was only average; my steak came overcooked and slightly cold. I have a feeling that it was waiting out for other dishes to be ready. Nobody else at the table seemed to notice. The service was good and the waitress remembered us from a previous visit. Not a ruined evening by any stretch, just a little underwhelming.

The atmosphere is very nice but food was ordinary. I usually love the Keg but I find that the quality at the manor isn’t as good as other locations. You should instead go downtown, i don’t know why but the food is a lot better over there !!

I have been to the Keg Manor many times and I seem to get the same waiter every time I visit. Unfortunately I don’t know his name, but he is very attentive. The filet mignon is to die for, and I always get it paired with a glass of pinot grigio. I love the atmosphere as well. The Keg Manor is a converted mansion(with a haunted past!), and I love that each room is different from the rest.

I just went here for drinks and apps and ‘zerts. We sat at the back close to the bar, which was nice enough, there was a fire place there and it was comfortable, but we faced the door to the kitchen. I enjoyed escargos, and they were actually fresher tasting than I’d had at the Keg in other locations, which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was definitely warm and cozy, kind of dark, my friend commented that it would be a nice place for a date. Unfortunately, we had terrible service. The waitress didn’t want to be there, and it really showed.

This is my favourite Keg restaurant location, due greatly to the ambiance of it. When the weather is not wet or cold, it’s so nice to wander through the gardens beside this historic building. I’m so glad they are putting the the place to good use! Not to mention that you may need to walk off dinner! I love a good steak! I love their baked potatoes, and their meals often come with veggies. Service is good too. Great idea: While we were here, there was a wedding dinner on the main menu. You never know what you’ll find! Have been here several times, and expect we will go back again.

This was not my first Keg experience, but it was my first Keg Manor experience. I treated my boyfriend to dinner there on his birthday this past weekend. He had his heart set on ordering their prime rib. Unfortunately, the prime rib that they had was only done«medium-well», not«medium-rare» as he preferred. He ordered something else instead, so it was a bit of a disappointing experience for him. They did give him a huge slice of ice cream cake + candle, which we shared and was nice. But, how does a fancy restaurant run out of a popular taste of prime rib(medium-rare) early on a Friday night? Somebody in management dropped the ball there and, for my money, next time I’m feeling like steak, we’ll try someplace else next time.

The Keg Manor, basically take your normal The Keg chain steakhouse and turn it up a notch. As you can imagine The Keg Manor is owned by The Keg chain restaurant. Expect pretty much the same delicious steaks, potatoes, fish dishes and everything else you would find at The keg, and more. The restaurant is a converted 19th century home. The size alone is impressive and while driving into the compound, beautiful gardens greet you. Before heading in to the restaurant, have a look around the property, it is worth it. On the inside you’ll find an upscale restaurant that is perfect for a date or for a small group of friends. Although you don’t have to go overboard when dressing up, I would suggest guys wear a collared shirt or something equivalent. Ladies… you would know better than myself. Candles and paintings fill the restaurant, along with soothing(and fitting music). The service is top notch, and I have yet to have a bad meal there. You’ll pay a bit more than you normally would, but every once in a while, it’s worth it.
