I had takeout from here recently and it was great. I had been avoiding this spot for sometime despite it being in my neighbourhood because I went to their Merivale location many years ago and was not impressed(the Merivale location has since closed down). I regret avoiding this location for all these years! So I phoned in my order and then went and picked it up. The girl on the phone was super nice and she said it would be no problem at all for them to make everything without sesame seeds. I had the Lunch Special Combo #2($ 15) — only available 11:30am — 2:30pm. You get Miso soup, 1 appetizer and 3 rolls(6 pieces each, so 18 pieces total) — you choose from a list of options. I had the Mango Salad, Kamakazi Roll, California Roll, and Smoked Salmon & Asparagus Roll. The Miso soup ok. It wasn’t too salty. It’s mostly broth, with a few tiny cubes of soft tofu, some wakame seaweed, and tiny slivers of mushroom. The Mango Salad was small but excellent. The mango was the perfect ripeness and it was mixed with sliced red peppers then tossed in a chili pepper and fish sauce vinaigrette. Don’t worry about the fish sauce, it doesn’t have that pungent fish sauce smell. If the menu didn’t tell me there was fish sauce in it, I honestly wouldn’t have known. The rolls were excellent. They were mostly filling with very little rice. I love this. I hate it when you go to a sushi restaurant and all the rolls are mostly rice. All the ingredients were fresh and the nori did not smell fishy. They use quality ingredients. The Kamakazi Roll was huge, it’s like a Futo Maki Roll. And like Futo Maki Rolls the seaweed is on the outside. It had avocado, cucumber, crab stick, salmon, masago and tempura bits. The other rolls are inverted rolls with rice on the outside. The California Roll was just crab stick, masago and avocado(no cucumber). The Smoked Salmon and Asparagus Roll is exactly what it sounds like. The asparagus was blanched and had a nice crunch to it. They are extremely generous with the smoked salmon. I have a huge appetite and I couldn’t finish everything for lunch(I had 5 rolls left over for a snack later). Their Combo#1 is $ 12 and you get 2 rolls instead of 3. I might get this one in the future. The staff are really nice and everything was ready when I arrived 15 minutes after placing my order. I double-checked with the girl working there that there were no sesame seeds in my order and she said she personally checked(and of course they got it right). Nice staff, great food. I’m sold. The inside of the restaurant looked clean and it’s nice and cozy in there. I walked there, but if you’re driving, there’s no parking lot, you have to park on the street. There’s a paid parking lot behind the Clocktower Brew Pub which is across the street though.

This is my gf fav spot for Sushi in Ottawa, my first visit here, super fresh traditional Sushi. The server was very friendly, knowlegable and the service was super quick… however we were in for an early dinner before bluesfest and the only ones in the restaurant… lol i must say i crave tempura rolls and crazy sauces and wish that more place offered«non-traditional» options.

Waitress forgot three items of my order, sushi was rather poorly made but the fish was very fresh and the flavour was great. Cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Ask waiter/waitress about their rolls. Will return.

Really enjoyed this sushi place! My friend and I indulged in a delicious meal of sushi roles of various creative kinds. The service was quick and it was an intimate spot for a few friends to enjoy each other’s company whilst stuffing our face with sushi. My only negative comment is that they were playing a wilderness show on their big screen, which was less than appetizing. Would definitely go again, but would choose a spot away from the TV ;)
