I love this park. It’s right down the street, and I’ve always been intrigued by the beautiful black gates on Bronson. The city has made a huge effort to upgrade the park the past year, and it’s really starting to show. From the new brick entranceway to the skatepark and awesome play structures, this is a great park for all ages. At the Bronson entrance there are lovely benches and chessboard picnic tables, perfect for watching the tricksters at the skatepark. Walk further down the pathway and you’ll find open green space perfect for a game of soccer or ultimate frisbee. There’s picnic tables scattered on the periphery as well. To the left are awesome play structures(there’s one giant climbing one that looks like a spider web!). I noticed they recently added a community garden space as well, which is awesome! There’s also a wading pool for the hot summer months, with plenty of seating to watch your little one. One thing to note is that this is an off leash dog park after school hours and on weekends, so if you have little ones who are wary of dogs, keep that in mind. I notice the city do their best to keep this park really clean and beautiful. Am loving this beautiful park in the middle of my ‘hood!

Contrary to the below post– the city just passed a bill that this is an official dog park– so expect to see some off leash at all hours. Unfortunately there aren’t any lights in the dog area though so plan on getting there before dark.

McNabb Park is a really great community resource for anyone in the area. It’s on the corner of Bronson and Gladstone in Centretown. There are so many things to do here! The park serves as a mini dog park on the weekends, with dogs on leaches between 7am and 6:30pm, as well as other park hours. They aren’t allowed in the park between 7am and 6:30pm from Mondays to Fridays, though, because of all of the students from the Richard Pfaff Alternative School next door. The park itself has a gazebo, swings, play structure, and wading pool. Children and families like to play here, and older kids and youth can visit the drop-in centre and participate in sports and art programs. Adults can also use the gym, or take yoga, fitness and exercise, and pottery classes, as the McNabb Community Centre is a multi-purpose facility. There’s also an ice rink and hockey arena, which is also the indoor McNabb Skatepark. In the winter, there is an enclosed skating rink outside, which is especially popular amongst hockey players.
