I order here for delivery at 8 pm. The gentlemen on the phone took my order which was mouth drooling curry chicken, rice and pea and roti. I was thinking of this food for an hour! Got my plate ready, fork and knife ready. Oops forgot to ask for hot sauce. Got my hot sauce ready. waited another hour. Called no answer! He must be on his way. My husband came down stairs to see me all set up and told me he wasn’t coming! I was so P@#$!@! And hungry :(decided to just call it a night. Crawled in bed, fell asleep to hear the door bell ring at 11:30ATNIGHT! You have got to be kidding me. I did not answer that door and went to bed very hungry! NEVERAGAIN! Will I order or give these people my business!

Alright, you can take the jerk out of the islands but you can’t visit Island Jerk without being treated poorly. It kills me when a place has a reputation for good food but terrible customer service. In the case of Island Jerk, they have terrible manners. Now the food is good, one of the few places I would send a friend to for carribean food. Just don’t go if you are in a rush and NEVER try to sit down there and eat. I brought a group of friends who were in town from Toronto once, we sat down in the dining room at lunchtime on a Thursday, after 30 minutes we were not yet offered drinks and our order had not been taken. What a terrible way to run a business. If you do go to the takeout counter to order, I suggest the Jerk Chicken, Oxtail or Curry Goat. If it is seafood you like then go for the escovitched snapper, its really good! Just never mind the lack of customer service, grin and bear the«screw-face» looks you’re likely to get and you’ll enjoy some really good authentic Jamaican food!

Jerk chicken is awesome(spicy, tasty and fall off the bone). The rice, beef patties and curry chicken were really good too. Wasn’t crazy about the plantains though. Service is slow but worth the wait.

Went here a while back after a Value Village trip. I had never tried West Indian food before so I didn’t know what was good, I asked the women what she recommended and she suggested the jerk chicken. It was really cheap(I think just over $ 10) and I got a generous portion of rice, chicken and veggies. The jerk chicken had a lovely spicy, sweet and salty flavor, I really enjoyed it. They also have a huge selection of West Indian beverages, I forgot to order one though. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 instead of 5 is that the woman really wasn’t friendly, rolled her eyes when I asked questions and didn’t seem to want to wait on me at all.
