Courtyard Niagara Falls

Did realize the rooms were renovated… I would disagree. The room was spacious, but still felt dated (I stayed at the renovated Courtyard by Marriott in Toronto which was so renovated it smelled new and was modern). The beds were hard and the pillows were hard.
The check in process was odd. The duty manager wrote the price of the room per night on my key envelope. I have stayed in several a hotel and never had that happen before. She said it was so that no one could dispute the nightly rate. In addition she insisted that parking was $ 14 CAD a night, but everyone’s emails said $ 11 so verify the fine print.
Kegs closes at 11am
Great location we easily walked to the Fallsview Casino and Clifton Hill. There was a bus line nearby.
I’d probably stay in a hotel that has a fall view, in which the same duty manager said that this hotel has no falls view and they just say they do for marketing (again oddest check in ever).
The hot tub and pool area was nice.
The activity lady shut down at 7pm and left a nice hand written note letting us know to come back at 8pm the next morning.

Great hotel! Great area! Lovely staff! Hot tub in the room, and room was nice and clean and tidy! There was a decent power setting on the hair dryer (usually drives me mad as they’re always on a crap one setting only) and there was an ironing board and iron there with plenty of wardrobe space! Only problem I found, if I was to be picky, was there were no dressing gowns which, to me was an issue as there are no changing rooms down by the pool so I had to quickly dry and come back up in wet clothes to shower. Not a big deal really, just a little awkward to have no changing facilities connected to a pool/​jacuzzi! And then with that, no gowns to take down with you. Also another detail, our room DID NOT have a falls view! Other than that, exceptional, all staff are so nice, even the cleaning staff greet you with huge smiles and big hellos, and the restaurant connected to the hotel is the well known «The Keg». Which is personally, our favourite restaurant, and I loved it! Was great to stay there for valentines dinner instead of venturing out into the bad snowy, –0 weather! Would love to visit again

Nice, clean place, great service. We were accommodated the same day without any hassles after the original place booked for our trip did not work to our advantage. We were very thankful ad satisfied with the staff and service during our visit. Our trip could have turned out into a total nightmare if it wasn’t for the kindness of their staff.

We arrived at the hotel prior to check in time and understandably they did not have a queen room ready yet, so we were given a complimentary upgrade to a king jacuzzi room. Check in was quick and after asking if we needed parking she wrote «1−11» on a card and gave it to us and told us to display one on the dash. She didn’t mention the parking fee but I imagined that even though the eleven didn’t have a dollar sign in front of it, it was probably a price. Next I reasoned that maybe 1 – 11 was a parking space, since there was no dollar sign. I’m sure the fee was on the Marriott app when I booked, but I didn’t notice it. $ 11 for parking was on the folio the next morning, but it was the cheapest parking rate we paid on vacation.
Upon unlocking the door to the room, I smelled a damp odor, which was probably the jacuzzi.
We used the wifi without any real issues.
My rewards preference of extra feather pillows was not honored.
As another Unilocaler mentioned, there was a drain in the main room area, and even if someone was showering in the bathroom with the door closed, the drain made noise in the room.
There are restaurants within walking distance and one on site as well. We stopped in the Keg for drinks on a Tuesday and they were a little overwhelmed behind the bar, but had a nice selection.
All in all the room was pretty clean and I would stay at this Courtyard again if I found myself in the area.

I’ve never had a harder time or been ignored more then trying to book a room with the Courtyard. I simply wanted to use a corporate coupon code. There was no option on the website to do so properly so I chose to call and make my reservation.
After calling 3 times and being redirected three times to someone else who had no idea what they were talking about I did not know what to do. Finally by my forth call someone by the name of Justin patched me through to the main Marriott line. He told me that I would be taken care of, they would put my code through and it would be quick and simple. Except! I never even got through, it just kept ringing and ringing.
So now here I am running around trying to find another hotel to stay at this Sunday because the Courtyard either would not talk to me, not give me an option to use a code that works with their hotel, or just completely ignore me.
I have stayed in hotels in Niagara 3 times this year and I was excited to try the Marriott this time. After this horrible stressful experience which resulted in no reservation at all I cant see myself ever staying at this hotel.

Victoria Avenue is the Wisconsin Dells of Canada! In what is becoming the no frills hotel business these days, this place follows suit. The rooms have a strange design flaw, they have a drain outside the bathroom. When ever someone is taking a shower, in your room or a near by room, you can hear the water running the drain. Also (and this being a pet peeve) the sink is outside of the bathroom, so when you decide to shave the whole room gets to share.
The hotel is located within walking distance from the falls, which is great. Once you park you car (for ten dollars a night), you can walk to everything you need during the stay, The free WiFi is great, but you need a password for every device in your room. Get them when you check in otherwise you will be running down to the front desk to get additional passwords.
One more note. This area of the hotel rocks all night. If you want to take a nice quiet walk, do it early in the morning, no one is out.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I would return. I stayed with my husband and 3 children between the ages of 5 months to 6 yrs old. We stayed for two nights (Sat-​Mon). Check-​In was fast. I prepaid for everything through Expedia. I didn’t want to give a credit card to the hotel at check-​in because I read some reviews beforehand about double billing «errors» at this hotel so they took a $ 75.00 cash deposit from me. I got my deposit back at check out because there weren’t any damages in the room. We stayed on the 10^th floor and had a view of the restaurants, the parking lot and the sky wheel. Everyone enjoyed the pools. We had the room with the King bed, the pull out sofa bed and the jacuzzi. Wifi was good. We watched Netflix on an iPad and a macbook with absolutely no problems. It is close to the attractions. My 4 year old and 6 year old walked all the way to clifton hill and the falls with no complaints about being tired .Lots of restaurants close by. House keeping was very friendly and pleasant. People in other reviews for this hotel complained about the elevator but I didn’t have to wait long. The only issues I had is the room had a weird smell to it. Kind of musty. I believe it was from the a/​c because it went away when we turned the a/​c off. The jacuzzi is in the room not the bathroom and it is really loud so I couldn’t use the jets once the kids went to sleep because I am sure it would have woken them up. Other than those issues we all enjoyed our stay and would return.

Definitely a fan. Nice hotel, friendly staff, reasonable rates given the location, and centrally located to attractions and shopping.
You can’t ask for much else. It would be nice if the room had a microwave, but otherwise no complaints at all. Clean and comfortable, and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

I was generally pleased with my stay at this hotel. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the staff was pleasant. The lobby area was lovely, and I thought the location was fantastic — easy walk to the falls and the tourist-​laden Clifton Hill area. My biggest complaint is that the towels were the roughest towels I’ve ever laid hands on. They probably did a wonderful job exfoliating, but I prefer my towels fluffy and plush. The cozy blanket was also pilled and had lost all soft feeling. When I stay in a hotel, I like to feel a little luxurious, and the blankets and towels definitely left a lot to be desired. But, the bed was comfortable and the sheets themselves were great!
Another note: my SO’s Visa card worked everywhere else during our stay — including the in-​house Keg restaurant and the ATM by the elevators — but would not work with their registers for checkout. Upon arrival (we paid for our rooms through a third party in advance) we were asked for a card for incidentals. After a long phone call to his bank, the card still would not work. We ended up putting it on mine for the time being, planning to change it on check out. At check out, the card didn’t work again — the clerk said the message implied a security issue. Another long phone call to the bank, and we were assured it would work. It was declined again, and we ended up just getting cash out of the ATM two feet away, in the lobby. So to all other international travelers — have a secondary form of payment as apparently some Visa Credit/​Debit cards just plain don’t work for room charges.

«No frills hotel, decent value, needs renovations, close to attractions». Received a great deal to stay here for the week! I chose it because it had the whirlpool tub and a city view, which it did, so no complaints there! We had a perfect view of the city scape — the huge ferris wheel, the dinosaur miniature golf, Victoria Avenue & Clifton Hill sites. Where was the flair of the place? I can honestly say, there was not much of any. I was not looking forward to going back to my room each night. The lobby décor was warm and inviting, which presented the illusion that the rest of the hotel would be the same. Read on…
Upon check-​in, I think I just got the least-​friendliest staff member of the bunch because she seemed highly annoyed during the check-​in process. She was very short with me and did not seem pleased, when she was talking to me and answering my questions. I just wanted to get the check-​in process over and done with.
Where they lacked was the interior of the room that was in serious need of renovations; it was a bit outdated. The bed… I did not feel like I was sleeping on cloud 9… more like the ground, unfortunately. My daughter utilized the pull-​out bed that was highly uncomfortable as well. Thankfully, I brought an extra blanket for her that added a bit more cushioning to the bed. As for the whirlpool, it took forever to fill-​up and was extremely loud! Like I mentioned, they were in deep need of a make-​over and replacing the whirlpool bath, sinks, beds and even carpet!
The pluses +++ of the room: the view, great internet, large room, great value, indoor and outdoor pool.

A pretty aged Hotel which doesn’t have the glamour and elegance of a Marriott Hotel anymore.
The room seemed clean but very, very aged and used up. We had a jacuzzi in the middle of the room. Nice, but kinda weird, because it just doesn’t fit to the room concept.
The service at the front desk was very fast, but more in a «we have so many customers and have to hurry» way. Not unfriendly though. Location of the Hotel is good.
If we come back to Niagara Falls we’ll probably try to stay in another hotel. This one is not worth the daily rate.

Let me preface with saying I stayed at this hotel last summer and still remember how great it was.
I’m partial to Marriott because I’ve stayed in every brand they own (except the ritz). I always enjoy the experience and consistency and this courtyard is no exception.
Upon arrival we were quickly checked in and upgraded! Being 20 at the time, I was very shocked and pleasantly surprised. The room was fantastic; fireplace, king bed, and a hot tub in the room. I felt right at home with the FREE wifi so I could send iMessages to relatives in the states.
The facilities were also accommodating and enjoyable. The Pub next door was great for a quick cheap drink or a bite to eat. The pool and hottub were awesome (my favorite part of hotels).
Now proximity to the falls wasn’t perfect, but honestly that’s not what I was looking for when I booked. I stayed at this hotel as a kid and I still loved it as a young adult. I highly recommend it and thank you to the nice guy at the front desk.

for being close to the falls. No falls view but definitely a good walking distance. It’s right next to all the stores and restaurants. The double queen bed rooms were pretty big and definitely can accommodate more than 2 people. No extra pull out bed though. The rooms were also clean and had a good view from the 7^th floor of the tower and the ferris wheel — city area. First floor just has a view of the parking lot of course. There’s a pool and sauna open til 11pm and the gym is open 24 hours. Wireless internet is good but it sucks that each device has to have a unique code. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the lady who helped us at the front desk was kinda mean and confusing. Maybe she was having a bad day. Also, parking was $ 11 per night. They said parking around the area was hard but I think we coulda found something cheaper. Overall my family really enjoyed our stay.

Price to stay in a king room with Jacuzzi is good. Rooms are clean. Our most recent stay they have updated some parts of the hotel. Flat screen tv in rooms. New lobby. We love the location, close to Clifton hill. We have stay 2 years in a row and really enjoyed our time. Only thing is both times not a great view. One time we where looking at the wall to the next door hotel but we have only stayed on the 2^nd and 3^rd floor.

Personally, I really like the renovations that they’ve done to the place. The hotel was always pretty decent but it’s amazing what some fresh coats of paint, new furniture, and new wallpaper can do to your hotel. I don’t know why but I love the flower wallpaper in the rooms. Everything feels quite fresh and I appreciate their efforts to modernize the property.
The room was HUGE. I love it and it was a big plus as we travelled with my parents, putting FOUR fully-​grown adults in ONE room, with ONE bathroom. And considering nobody ended up killing each other or bursting into the bathroom while another was using it, I’d say the trip was a resounding success. The only downside to the room was that the TV felt inadequately small for a room that size.
The gym was basic but comfortable and relatively well-​equipped. The pool was quite big with a nice hot tub which I didn’t use (less due to the pool itself and more due to the endless screaming of teenagers and kids running around). The front lobby was spacious and comfortable, and wi-​fi was free. All good stuff.
The bad part? The front desk manager callously said «Everyone has to pay» when I asked if we could get the parking taken off. The whole paid parking policy in Niagara Falls exercises me greatly, and out of a sense of #YOLO I often ask if we can get it waived. I get it that many times you can’t, but can you not be more gracious in your answer? Points off for that AND for the fact that parking is paid. I know 99% of the hotels in Niagara Falls has this, but it’s still ridiculous and is nothing more than a cash grab.
The rates are OK but not stellar, but it is a property with comfortable amenities and we were given a room away from the elevators as we asked, which was appreciated. A good choice to stay at the Falls, but nothing to write home about (apart from rooms large enough to play flag football in).

It’s a Courtyard, so don’t expect much. No continental breakfast, and no valet parking either if you’d rather just park yourself. No view of the Falls, but there’s a lot of activity within walking distance. The only two elevators also seem to take forever, but there are 11 floors here so that probably explains it.
It’s clean, obviously cheaper than hotels overlooking the Falls, and The Keg steakhouse is located right in the lobby. If you’re a Marriott Rewards member and enjoy steak like me, that means more points. But I recommend The Keg overlooking the Falls at the Renaissance. If you eat there, however, the Marriott points are non-​transferable to the Courtyard.

The Courtyard Marriott has recently been renovated and I must say it’s amazing what some fresh wallpaper will do!
The service at this hotel is great and I’m giving them an additional star this time because I continue to book at this location… clearly, I’m a fan! There are plenty of hotels in Niagara Falls but I seem to be continually drawn to this one. The rooms are clean, the service is great and they have pretty good deals running throughout the year.
We always choose the deal that includes a $ 40 Keg credit and breakfast buffet for two. This year it was $ 149 ($ 159 with a Jacuzzi)… we didn’t upgrade but received a Jacuzzi suite regardless. Come to think of it, every time I’ve stayed at this hotel I’ve received a room with a Jacuzzi and fireplace.
In the lobby, they have a place called the Marketplace where you can pick up any items you may have forgotten or perhaps some light snacks and beverages. There’s also complimentary coffee.
Just a side note: The 3% TIF fee you see on your bill for parking, room charge, etc, is a voluntary tax and you can ask for it to be removed. I wish I had’ve know this sooner. I’m Canadian… believe me, I pay enough taxes as it is!

PROS:
— we stayed here for $ 100 and paid an extra $ 10 to upgrade to the jacuzzi room (which is pretty big) — parking is another $ 10 — but the hotel clerk didn’t charge us and gave it to us as a complimentary upgrade
— rooms are pretty large and comes with a refrigerator
— location is pretty central on the tourist strip and you are 10 minutes walk from the Falls
CONS:
— no Falls view
— WiFi is free but pretty shoddy and unreliable
Meh — as I said: Not bad.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room itself was nice. It had a whirlpool jacuzzi in the room in the part of the bathroom that was open. The only section behind a door was the toilet and shower stall. There was a coffee maker in the room and a fridge, but they did not have a continental breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the A/​C was quiet. The thing we found most frustrated with was the Wi-​Fi. It was included in our room and just did not work. This was unfortunate since we both have an iPhone and were planning on using that to figure out places to go. They do have a LAN line in the room that is very short so your laptop must stay at the desk. They do have a community computer by the check-​in area if you need to print anything.
There were 2 pools (indoor and outdoor), a hot tub, sauna, little arcade and a gym. All of them were sufficient for the hotel’s size.
The location couldn’t be beaten. It is within easy walking distance to Clifton Hill and many restaurants and souvenir shops. It is also within walking distance to the Falls themselves.
I would recommend this hotel to someone who doesn’t want to pay a ton of money to stay in a convenient area in Niagara Falls.

I’ve stayed here a couple of time and both stays were just OK, there was nothing special about this hotel it actually looks really bad in my opinion from the outside and their interior is nothing to write home about either. But the rooms are very spacious and they have a Keg in the lobby and that restaurant serves a decent breakfast as well. Me and my friends have also hung out at their bar (it’s associated with the Keg) in the afternoon and their bartender was very friendly and chatty and knew how to handle a bunch of guys looking to get their drink on. Drinks were not cheap but not skyhigh either.
Their location is not amazing but Clifton Hill is only a few minutes walk so you’re a little ways away from all the bright lights and noise but the Fallsview Casino area is a bit further away but still definitely walkable.
The staff have always been friendly, there might have been one front desk staff member that was not amazing but that was a while ago and on my last stay everyone was friendly but nothing over the top you might get at a full Marriott or Hilton.
The rooms I mentioned are spacious, and their beds are comfy but other than that there’s nothing else great or modern about this hotel, it is in much need of a renovation as the age is showing. We did ask for connecting rooms and while they managed to get that done on our first trip, they failed on that front the second time around even after having it as a note on our reservation well in advance.
But they do offer competitive rates that’s hard to ignore. It is a lot of pros and cons if you stay here, but if it’s within your budget I would recommend it.
