This place has great customer service — we found an opening on a saturday night last minute and showed up 10 minutes early for our room.
When we got there, we waited quite a bit, and turns out there was some issue with double booking our room (apparently the group before us accidentally cancelled and we checked availability and booked at the exact second it became open again). The night was fully booked but they told us they were going to contact other groups later in the night and tell them the room they booked has been cancelled as there has been an issue with a previous double booking.
I was a little surprised they were going to cancel someone else’s reservation but they managed to get a hold of a group and delivered the bad news. That being said, they also advised they were going to waive the complete cost of the room for our whole group. At $ 25 a person, that’s a $ 100 dollar saving.
The escape room itself was very challenging, and really well done. I’ve been to others in the area, and they don’t even compare to this one… the production was way better than other ones down the road!
I would definately come back to try another room, and would be more than happy to pay the full price.

Really well put together but for certain rooms if you don’t have prior knowledge you will have trouble.

So cool they had a Death Note theme. It was well designed and paired well with the show. Really recommend it if you’re a fan of the animé. You’ll really enjoy it. We got out in 43mins

We beat it I forgot what was the time. But I remember it was quite easy so it’s good for beginners.

We fail due to a technicality… Like I don’t want to spoil but I should warn you that you would need prior research or knowledge for one of the gadgets to unlock the room… Which we didn’t know and wasn’t prepared for. So that was kinda lame that they told us that… But this theme was nicely decorated
Trapped Canada in general was made with care and make it fun for they players. They’re very professional there and amazing customer service.
We have membership cards. They give us free drinks if you win. Can’t wait for their new room to be built!!!

My second escape room. Came here on a Wednesday for a team event with our company.
The good:
— Very friendly and helpful staff
— Great rooms. Décor and size was quite good
The bad:
— The walkie Talkies did not work well. We tried to get a clue, but could not hear what they were saying, which wasted a lot of time.
— Low-​Tech puzzles
Overall, a good experience, but not great.

My thoughts on escape rooms: «why would you pay to be trapped when you can not pay and be free?» .and that’s why I’ve never been to one. However, my best friend wanted to host her birthday here so obviously I have to be down to go.
Service was extremely friendly and instructions were clear. The room to escape is not just one single room but double or even triple. You can stack discounts but since we were all too lazy to do the Facebook one, we used the Unilocal 10% off + an extra promo for booking early.
We did the medieval prison one, and I didn’t expect to escape just because it was some of our first times in an escape room & the pass rate is 4%… However, our group was composed of all logical thinkers and observant individuals and we figured out how to escape with ease. We successfully completed it just before 40 minutes and damn we were proud! I don’t want to give spoilers but you definitely need to look at the «hidden» meaning of everything you find while other blatantly obvious objects laying around are irrelevant even if you think it has something to do with solving a puzzle. Oh, and teamwork sure is important.
The décor inside is truly realistic, composing of real hay and rustic looking furniture. It must be amazingly cool to actually build an escape room. Kudos to the people who did it because you can definitely tell a lot of thought was put into it.
Anyway, trapped was challenging but easy at the same time and I am definitely glad it was them who took my escape room virginity.

Situated in Markham near the Burger King plaza, this quaint little place is the place to go whether it be for friend gatherings, birthday parties, team building for work (if your work is super cool), etc.
This location has a few escape rooms including: Medieval Prison, Contaminated Hospital, Ancient Pyramid, Death Note, and AD 2046. Each of these rooms provide you with an hour to escape using pure strategic problem solving. They emphasize to you many times that brute force and wall climbing is NOT needed nor permitted.
Each time, you get blindfolded into a room and you are locked in there for 60 minutes and the clock counts down. Each of these games have been very mind-​warping and I’ve been extremely impressed with them thus far. The amount of problem solving required and the brain tricks they pull are just so impressive. The leader of your group carries a walkie-​talkie so you get a total of 2 hints throughout the game. Use them wisely.
The games are actually quite challenging and we actually have failed the Medieval Prison TWICE. We got so close the second time (the last step), we decided not to repeat it again and did the Contaminated Hospital, which we successfully escaped!
Unlike a lot of other escape rooms, this place doesn’t cheap out on their décor and realism and they actually make the places as realistic as they can be. The people who run this place are also extremely friendly.

The employees are really friendly. Even though its a small spaces. Its really interesting. I believe it comes up to 32 $ or more.

Trapped! Dun dun dunnnn! So I love board games and this essentially is a big puzzle room! You are given a scenario or theme and you have one hour to get out. Sounds simple enough, but it is quite challenging and tricky! I was invited by my cousin to do trapped with him and his friends and the staff were totally fine with another one added to the group. We got a free membership because of some summer deal I believe and it works anywhere which is pretty sweet!
We did the Egyptian room and passed it with 48 minutes! It was quite intense and fun. I was hoping to be more rooms in there, that would of been intense. Still it was a fun experience though! Definitely come and try the other room!
There are limited lockers so keep your stuff in your car or get lucky with them.
Definitely will be coming back!

Trapped is located across the First Markham Place plaza. The staff there are very friendly, and offered us a discount when we signed up for their membership. Also, we received further discounts when we liked their Facebook page and shared one of their Facebook videos. As well, checking in to this place on Unilocal can earn you a coupon too! This is one of the more challenging escape rooms that I have been to. The rooms are designed very intricately, and the décor is authentic too. I would definitely go back again.

I’ve only done the Egyptian room at this location. Our group had a lot of fun despite some puzzle aspects that didn’t quite fit the theme. We only did this room because it had a number of positive reviews, but it doesn’t seem like their other rooms are as good (I can’t say for sure since I didn’t try them). The only thing I didn’t like was their offering for a shot of alcohol after you complete a room. I’m pretty sure they don’t have a license to distribute alcohol. And it’s Markham so most likely the customers are driving…

So after going to Origin and being terribly disappointed, we decided to try another escape room right after. And since we only spent $ 10 on Origin, we felt like there was nothing to lose.
We got a 10% discount for booking ahead (either online or by phone), and they have a membership card you can use to collect points. You can use this too for the 10% and a free drink.
Wow, I was really impressed.
The staff there were friendly and great. The experience from beginning to end was awesome, and I think this puts them overtop of Omescape staff.
The quality of the room was great! We did the Medieval Prison room and were told there was zero tech in there cause, well, there was no tech back in the 1300’s. At first, I wondered if it was going to be any good, since these days, many rooms rely on tech to make it seem cooler. It was pretty good even without any tech!
The puzzles were good too, they were hard but they made sense. We were allowed to use two clues (which we used) and we still could not get out. but damn, we were really close. The success rate of this room is something like only 4% so I guess I don’t feel SO bad that we couldn’t get out.
We were offered a free pop or juice after since we’d checked in on Facebook.
I’d definitely come back to try another room here.

Trapped is our 5^th escape room place that our group has been to in Markham, and it’s definitely one that experienced room escapers should try at least once. When we first arrived, the customer service was very friendly and introduced us first timers to the place and notified us about their promotions which was $ 3 off for booking online and 10% off for liking their FB page and sharing their video. The total was a little after $ 25 with tax, which is a little pricey for room escape places but I felt it was worth it.
Now for the actual experience; we chose the Ancient Pyramid. We were blindfolded and led into the room and I’ve heard from others that there was actual sand in the room and I was not let down. The décor is VERY convincing, from the ground to the walls, it immersed us and was not tacky at all. Without giving away too much, this was one of the hardest rooms we’ve done. They actually warned us beforehand, but apparently there was a 4.5% chance of escape. Around 1 in 20 groups actually got out. (We wanted to be the one out of 20 but that didn’t happen!) This is why I recommend experienced players and not for first time escapists. Don’t let that discourage you though, it was very fun and felt doable! That being said, we used our two clues fairly quickly. Most of the time we’re like darnit why didn’t we think of that. Our only problem was that we definitely felt like we needed more than 2 clues, especially it being so hard. At least 3. One of the reasons why Trapped is more expensive is because of the technology/​5D experience and how there were multiple rooms and again, we were not let down. We were given an hour, and it went by very fast.
At the end they explained the puzzle we were stuck on but didn’t tell us anymore about what came next. I really want to check out the rest of the same room but I will not spend another $ 25 to find out. They gave us a free drink after (VIP card) and again was super friendly and invited us to come back again. They even send a thank you email after your appointment. (It’s the little things that count, haha) For the price, room, and service, I think Trapped was a very positive experience and that we will definitely come back to try out the other rooms in the future.

Trapped Canada was a lot of fun for our group! We played ancient pyramid and thought the layout and theme was great, puzzles were fun and we were able to escape with a few minutes left!
The staff was great from when we walked in the doors to when we left! Very friendly!
The only thing we didnt like was when asking for a hint they had provided the hint over the walkie talkie. It was hard to hear even when we maxed out the volume, so we spent about 5 mins trying to ask the person to repeat the clue and second clue the person came into the room after asking numerous times that its difficult to hear. Double check with the gamemaster to make sure walkies are charged as our first one died while trying to ask for a time check. Haha glad there were cameras to communicate with front desk.
Overall would definitely come back to play another game there! And thank you Trapped Canada for a fun escape room!

Trapped has always been my go to place for room escapes because of its convenient location (albeit its hard to find the first time) and challenging and well designed rooms. The staff are super friendly too. Out of the three rooms I’ve tried (completed ²⁄₃) I found that the clues were well meshed with the room’s setting, and there’s always that one or two challenging steps that REALLY required thinking out of the box.
It’s well worth signing up for a membership card which will give you small perks as well as access to the secret «boss» room if you’ve done three rooms in the past.
An issue I had though, was understanding some of the staff’s instructions over the walkie talkie when we asked for our two hints.
Overall, Trapped is a great room escape place if you’re looking for some challenging, high tension room escape with friends.

Our group of 4 had a lot of fun at Trapped this past weekend. We did the Medieval Prison room and it was really well-​themed. We were led into the room blindfolded, which really helped to add to the mystery.
The clues were really, really challenging. I feel like they should give 3 hints, instead of just 2. The hints were also given to us in a code-​like way, so they didn’t really help that much. Plus, we weren’t given an update on how much time had lapsed. It really would’ve helped us to use our hints better if we had known how much time we had left.
Overall though, it was a lot of fun and if you’re in the area, you should give it a go.

Room escapes have definately taken off here, espeically here in the GTA.
Trapped is definitely one of the more interesting ones — which seems to strive for a bit more authenticity than some of the other ones I have been to the point, where I managed to get a bit of «hay» fever in the room I was «trapped» in.
The puzzles were fun and but I found that Trapped produced a great atmosphere, but some of the puzzles that were in the room were a little frustrating — and the hints that were given, didn’t provide enough guidance to really give a good enough hint. I thought some of the puzzles were more interesting than others. I would have preferred more physical puzzle solving versus the more cerebral ones that were in the room.
However the thing is with these «Escape Rooms» is your experience is, often, heavily dependent on the company you are with as well.
Where Trapped managed to differentiate themselves from the rest of the competition, so to speak, is that they have a member loyalty program; which is free to join, and more or less tracks your visits to Trapped. The Loyalty program includes a drink (a can of pop or water); plus if you and your group visit more than 3 times, you get a chance to try your luck at their «boss» room.

Fabulous experience, great staff. Puzzles were extremely difficult. Apparently these guys have a 4.6% success rate; my group succeeded with less than 3 seconds on the clock! Can’t wait to go back.

The room was challenging which was good but customer service is only so-​so. The employee forgot/​lost the key and we had to wait quite awhile get into the building.
This espace room cost more then any other in the GTA, the purges range from $ 12 – 22 and this ones at $ 28 on regular price. Not sure if the extra couple bucks is worth it considering that the customer service isn’t fantastic.

Okay, I’m not going to pretend like I’m a huge expert when it comes to these escape rooms (this was only my third one) but I will say this is one of the better ones I’ve been to, and probably the most interesting in terms of the theme, décor, etc. As an example, and I hope I’m not giving away too much here, but my friends and I tried the Ancient Pyramid room and there was real sand in the room, which was pretty cool!
The room we did was pretty challenging, and unfortunately we didn’t pass. :(It wasn’t like unreasonably challening though, so I thought the tasks we had to do were pretty fair.

I guess it is worth it for the experience though, since it’s not like this is just some tiny room in a basement or anything. The rooms are quite big, and ours was actually three rooms connected together. The staff at Trapped were also great, and were all very friendly and cheerful. They also give you a free drink (water and pop) after your game session!
I would definitely return to try one of their other rooms! Apparently they also update their rooms every few months with new tasks, which is good because then you can come back and redo the same theme but have a totally different experience!
