Getting in touch with the Oriental side of my heritage, a few folks from Vancity(ex-GTA’ers) decided to hit up a local karaōke bar that’s been in this plaza for years as I can recall. Right across from Menchies, is Encore. Its stairwell leads to an open corridor area where there are numerous of karaōke rooms where people can host small private karaōke parties. Its had not to take notice of all the brightly light halls with strobe lights, etc. Almost felt like I was at a club. The room we had was enough to fit 15 – 20 people with dice games already available for those who were up for a few drinking games… the name of the game… i forgot. All i know is the service was quite exceptional. Food was okay… basic wings and fries. They also had bottle service available with your choice of juices, etc. Choice of music was mediocre, however when you’re with great company its all about the interaction that counts. The venue was presentable, spacious and clean. overall a 3⁄5

Some people might have hard time finding this place because it is located at the corner near the shopper drop marts. This place was alright. Nowadays they used this app for android or ios phones that you can select songs from the app. Unfortunately, some of the rooms didn’t work with the app. For example, I experienced 2 different time that the app didn’t work. The waitress tired to restart the system but still not working. We had to use the old fashion way of remote control. However, using the app make the song selection much better and easier. The service was great from my experience. The waitress always smile and remembered all our drinks. Its $ 10 for happy hour with 2 non alcohol drinks

great services and no membership fees needed. lots of availability of rooms and more than one washrooms! Loved that you can use the app on your phone to choose your songs and do not need to wait for karaōke. very decent price at $ 12.65 per person(tax and tips) for happy hours and the variety of drinks and songs are great! Opens at 3pm(even earlier than TEN23) to enjoy Happy Hours. happy Hours are 3 pm to 8:30pm

This place has changed couple of times. Not sure if they only changed names or management. Encore is a very nicely presented place when you go in but some may find it dirty as you continue inside — it is cleaner than other karaōke lounges like Take One. As good as appearance can be, I think I would prefer Take One not because I go there often but because Encore doesn’t even have BACKSTREETBOYS! lol How can any karaōke lounge survive in Toronto not having BSB? I was disappointed, very disappointed. Getting back to cleanliness, I went to the washroom and I was in shock. Went in, saw a door and thought nothing of it. As I walked further in, I see the door and stall wall broken down. That was unexpected and I kind of had the WTF/LOL face. The washroom also needed a serious febreeze spraydown. It literally smelled like a chinatown grocery store — BAD! Overall a decent night, not the best. I think I would go back to Take One.
