First time to karaōke, so I don’t exactly have tons of experience in this area, Came here with some friends who are regulars. First room we were given had some kind of technical issues, couldn’t get the program running. The attendant(who was really nice and patient) eventually moved us to another room and also gave us an additional free half hour for our trouble. If you go during happy hour, you get two basic non-alcoholic drinks for free.(The honey lemon was my favourite.) They have some sort of app that lets you browse and queue up songs on your phone while others are singing, which I thought was pretty cool. Only negative thing I noticed was the rooms are a little cold and I had to keep my jacket on the whole time. Had a really good time here and hope to be back soon!

After our failed attempt to try a new joint, Mi Lounge & Mix2, we came back to our trusty Take One. Take One has also adopted the downloadable app to select songs system which I can’t say I’m a fan of. It would be far more efficient for these karaokes places to have at least one tablet per room with their app already downloaded and ready to go for the users. At least this way, you can expect a more seamless transition from their older remote & song binder system. As expected, Take One stepped up and delivered with much more efficient drink service, courtesy to help out with the app failures and being so accommodating when we arrived with some 2 hrs to closing. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Take One for our next sing-out outing in Markham!

Love this place! Service is fast and politeness consistent. I must say the service has been consistent since the very first time I’ve been here. Management has changed but still good. Maria has been great and very awesome to say the least. She always gets me the things I need, sometimes even after last call. She also gives a free platter of shots when it’s someone’s birthday lol Yea, the shots are kind of watered down but what do you expect — they’re free! I just love how Maria takes care of my group when we go, so maybe you guys should let her know there’s a bday too!

Used to be one of the sketchy karaōke places as there was a shooting case around there years ago. However, it’s still a popular asian entertainment location nowadays. I rarely go sing karaōke but this time when I went, they actually implemented their own wifi-connected app that lets you pick the songs, queue it, move it, call service and anything else that you would do normally using a remote control. It was pretty cool! Definitely more convenient than using the actual controller which the detection was more difficult if you were sitting far from the sensor. I asked the employee there and they said their IT guys managed to create it. Pretty awesome that’s why it deserves a good rating.

I come here every once in a while and am quite happy with the service. servers are very quick and patient considering all the drunk people that probably harass them all night long. Also Maria is amazing. She’s so welcoming and respectful and represents the business well. We had a pretty big mishap on our bill today but she helped us sort it all out.

After gorging @ Dragon Pearl Buffet for my birthday my group decided to go for a classic Asian activity… Karaōke! It’s an alright place, you walk through dark hallways to get your room, you sit down & try to pull up songs on the menu, could be more user friendly. English songs are not up to date & in wrong categories, however, you can call staff by pressing SERVICE button & someone will come to your room. It’s an alright place but next time I would probably opt for Club Mirage.

Not that I want to further perpetuate stereotypes about Chinese people who love to Karaōke, play Dance Dance Revolution, and… okay, so I suppose I am perpetuating the stereotype. What? I love to sing! We ended up at Take One after eating and drinking at the Dragon Pearl Buffet for William T.‘s 23rd birthday. It was a quick zip up the 404 and we were there in a flash. Parking was plentiful when we arrived at 10PM. It is located on the third floor(elevator access). The elevator was a bit sketchy as it bobbed up and down once we got in it and the fan made a weird noise. My friend lamented something about«Do they really have Asian massages here?» so I’m assuming that there is a massage parlour of some sort that is located in the building. The second floor is home to a snooker bar, which I believe is owned by the same people. While being led to our private karaōke room, we walked through a dark hallway, with scant lighting that flickered on and off — sh! t did I end up in the massage parlour by accident? Nope… but we might as well have been walking into a room of tantalizing masseuses waiting to give you the daily special. When we finally settled in to our room, glasses were brought as well as dice sets. For those of you who have never been to an Asian karaōke lounge, the dice sets are for drinking games. We ordered a pitcher of vodka cranberry, 2 pitchers of sprite mixed with red wine, and a dozen beer. The food is not included at Take One like some other places in Scarborough. The karaōke menu is a little frustrating to navigate through, and I found their selection of English songs to be a little outdated/incomplete. The sound was not working as we watched a muted KTV while waiting for a staff member to arrive. You can access the staff by pressing the SERVICE button(the only button with a human head silhouette) and someone will magically show up. Its like having your own butler — sort of. The furniture is starting to show signs of wear and tear and could stand to be replaced. At the end of the night, it was $ 40 per person. I would probably go to Club Mirage at Market Village when I’m in the mood to sing next time.

Came here with a bunch of friends and was really surprised at how cheap it was. For their«happy hour» on a Friday night which for $ 12/person includes 5 hours of belting it out in a private room and 2 non-alcoholic drinks. Cheeaaaap. While the navigation of the music system is a bit of a pain and they don’t have a book for reference for the price, it’s pretty good. They have all your karoake classics(Journey, Richard Marx etc), enough N’Sync/BSB to relive high school/university days to the newer stuff like Bruno Mars and the Biebs(disclaimer — I did NOT choose nor sing to any of his songs). They also have a pretty good amount of actual music videos to go along songs so you don’t have to sing along with a random 80’s video montage. Plenty of parking and service is prompt.
